A very concerning disappearance.
The desperate search for a teenage girl has entered its sixth day after she failed to board a scheduled flight from regional Queensland and vanished without a trace.
Phoebe Bishop, 17, was last seen at Airport Drive, Bundaberg about 8.30am on Thursday, May 15.

Police said the teen has not been heard from since she failed to check in for her booked flight.

She was last seen carrying luggage and wearing a green tank top and grey sweatpants.

Police conducted a land search of Airport Drive and the surrounding areas on Monday, but were unsuccessful in finding the girl or any of her.

MOD NOTE:

Effective with the arrest in this case, sub judice is in effect and will be until a trial has concluded. For anyone not familiar with the judicial principle of sub judice, please review the following.

WS is based in the USA but we do try to manage the various discussions to comply with laws of other countries.

As this trial is in Australia, the case is under sub judice so please avoid anything that violates the following principles:

Basically anything that may prejudice the accused’s right to a fair trial
Any suggestion, opinion, or direct accusation that the accused is either guilty OR innocent
(i.e. the accused cannot be called "the killer"; use "the accused", "the alleged killer", or "the defendant")
A defendant’s previous history of any offences is off limits
Scandalizing the court (disparaging judges, lawyers, any officer of the Court) is off limits
Broadcasting anything about proceedings which happen in the jury's absence is off limits
Any non compliance with an Order of the court is off limits

Note in the event of an Appeal subsequent to verdict:
Appeals are usually heard by senior judges who are not likely to be influenced by the media, therefore responsible comment is usually considered acceptable once a trial has concluded, regardless of if there is going to be an appeal.

Posts that are determined to constitute a violation of sub judice will be removed. To avoid this, please review the following from the Victoria Law Reform Commission and post accordingly:
10. Sub judice contempt: restricting the publication of prejudicial information

PLEASE NOTE:

"Dr Vincent Hurley, a criminologist at Macquarie University said
the pair would be under massive 'anticipatory stress' while they await being sent to jail.

'They will be terrified of the unknown,
so that anticipatory stress,
along with things like poor nutrition,
fear of ramifications for family,
and just the sheer danger,
will emotionally exhaust them'.

'I anticipate they'll be put into protective custody
because of the age of the girl, Pheobe'.

'In jail, those accused of murdering a child are held in even lower esteem than a police informant',
he said.

Dr Hurley also predicted
that Bromley would have a more difficult time in a women's prison than her partner, Wood, in a men's facility."

"The cousin of tragic teen Pheobe Bishop has warned the family has had enough
of the constant attacks by trolls
and conspiracy theorists

and pleaded for it to end.

Pheobe's mum Kylie Johnson
has come under fire from vile anonymous social media trolls
attacking her for letting her teenage daughter to live with the couple.

'I hate how cruel people are being',
said Pheobe's cousin in a furious blast at the online critics.

She vehemently defended Pheobe's mother
and insisted she was not to blame for her the 17-year-old's death."

"Officers discovered what are believed to be the teenager's remains on Friday.

A family member said
they 'just knew' it was her
despite police yet to officially confirm the DNA results.

They said detectives were investigating a match of hair colour and clothing to the teenager's."

'I know Tanika has been charged. I know her family live within our community and I expect them to receive respect... those kids mean the world to us as a family.

'They meant the world to Pheobe as a family as well. It is imperative to us, as a family, that they are supported just as much as us. They are hurting probably more than us, even though we have lost our child.

'But I really need you to know that Pheobe's compassion would have reached that depth.

'There is to be no anger or hate towards that family.'

Fascinating psychology of the whole situation.

wow I'm quite surprised a family member would release those details to the media.

Very interesting it is still saying "Airport Drive where she was last seen carrying her luggage". So this obviously didn't come from JW and TB in the beginning. They must have footage of her walking with her luggage on Airport Drive.

But then the detectives comment about the 3 people makes even less sense now.

Maybe he meant 3 people didn't exit in the vehicle but instead said 3 people didn't exit the vehicle.

3 people not exiting in the vehicle makes a lot more sense as I think its all but been confirmed that they first dumped her body near the airport

Don't ask me ;)

As English is a foreign language for me
I'm oblivious of these subtleties hehe

Besides
I noticed LE language is an art of its own 😁

‘The town is angry and empty’: Small town of Gin Gin reacts to Pheobe Bishop’s alleged murder as tight-knit community grapples with aftermath of tragedy

Pheobe Bishop’s alleged murder has had a significant impact on the tight-knit community of Gin Gin, leaving locals grappling with the aftermath of her loss in a changed town.

A second Gin Gin local who wishes to remain anonymous told Skynews.com.au, the alleged murder of Pheobe has “changed the town” and “broke the hearts of everyone”.

“The town is angry and empty," they said.

“A local told this publication the town is so tightly integrated; teenagers often leave their family homes to stay with other members of the community for months on end, a town habit that may now be reconsidered.

The Mayor further emphasised the importance of respecting one of the accused’s family and urged the community to not “apply the blame game”, as requested by Pheobe’s mother during a vigil.

“I think what Phoebe's mum said at the vigil was that it was important for the community not to apply the blame game with the family of one of the accused,” she said.

“But rather to really consider that they are also members of the community.

Asked whether the recent tragedies would tarnish the Gin Gin town’s friendly reputation, Ms Blackburn said the isolated incidents do not define their strong community spirit.

She further added the council may consider a plaque at the community park where Pheobe’s vigils were held as a permanent reminder of her presence, should her family agree to it.“

It could be JW and TB statement they gave police at the beginning.

Its the same story he gave the DM journo.

He wouldn't be stating two different stories to them and the police IMO ..... * surely he has at least 2 brain cells *

Only 2 people would have known what she was wearing that day.

JW said , they went for a walk to let PB calm down when they arrived at Airport Drive, then when they went back she wasn't in the car so they assumed she had walked the short distance to the terminal with her luggage.

That would have been what the 2 of them originally told police when they came calling.

If there is CCTV footage or a witness of the 3 of them in the car anywhere between IGA Gin Gin and heading anywhere toward Bundy, that's the "3 people seen in the car " with PB still alive.

JW statement was, we arrived at Airport Drive and PB "must have left the car with her luggage" because she was gone when we went back to the car.

ONLY 2 people exiting the vehicle, ( JW and TB as per their statement re they got out of the car on Airport Drive)
" we will allege 3 people never exited that vehicle".

Police will allege Pheobe was in a car with her housemates on the way to Bundaberg Airport on May 15, but the teenager never entered the terminal for her flight to Western Australia.

"We will allege that three people arrived near to the airport, and that three people never left that vehicle,"

Yea but for it to be in Court documents it has to be confirmed. So I don't think they would use JW and TBs version of when she was last seen but rather the last confirmed sighting of her. I guess as with all The other aspects we won't know until and if it goes to trial.

I am very interested in JW's court hearing tomorrow on the weapons charges.

JW -

"I grabbed some grey brand new trackies I had and I threw them to her and said wear these"

After loading a large duffle bag - 'almost the size of her' - into the car alongside his dog, they set off for the airport, with Bromley driving and Pheobe in the back seat.

Minutes later, about 8.30am
, before they’d left Gin Gin for Bundaberg, Pheobe called her boyfriend to let him know she was on the way.
The boyfriend l: 'They were both yelling at her and I couldn't really hear her.'

Assuming this is the area of the IGA, "before they’d left Gin Gin for Bundaberg" and JW statement that he "grabbed some drinks from the IGA", its possible a CCTV camera OR a witness saw the 3 of them in the car.

IF JW got out to "get drinks " at the IGA, it is very possible that maybe Pheobe may have got out too for some reason, eg grabbed something at the IGA , and seats were swapped.
PB in the front seat with her friend TB ?

PB calls BF to say we are on our way

By all accounts the tension that morning was huge and only escalated as things went along. PB was said to be feisty by her family and no push over by all accounts

JW its been alleged has a history of DV

TB has been sacked from her position at PB mothers company

JW -
"Tanika grabbed her makeup bag next to her and passed it back and told her to take anything she needed. Her plane was stopping in Brisbane and we told her that the airport had everything she needed and she can take her time and do the makeup in the toilets."

WHY insert this make up bag into the story? If he is rehashing his statement that he gave police to the journo, then the Makeup Bag is important.

Tanika grabbed her makeup bag next to her
It could be possible that TB used that makeup bag to give a whack to PB to maybe shut her up ? TB looks like she has enough weight behind her to really swing a throw. JMO

IF the makeup bag was used by TB at some point in the journey to hit PB with and it caused blood to stain it, then it's possible they had to dispose of that too.

He said PB had the makeup bag , because she had time to do makeup in the Brisbane airport toilets.

Maybe with them all going off at each other since 5am that morning , TB whacks her with the makeup bag to shut her up causing harm to PB and JW finishes the deed ?

In any case, he is a complete liar IMO

"Wood insisted that he did not hurt Pheobe and assumed she had boarded the flight."

Pretty sure ALL parties statements are included in the BoE

A summary of their alleged account/ facts of what went on that morning.

Also I think they will also be shown the BoE prior to the criminal court hearing. ?????

I personally doubt it will go to trial. I can't imagine either of them to have the brain cells to cope with cross examination given his interview to the Journo

JMO
