A very concerning disappearance.
The desperate search for a teenage girl has entered its sixth day after she failed to board a scheduled flight from regional Queensland and vanished without a trace.
Phoebe Bishop, 17, was last seen at Airport Drive, Bundaberg about 8.30am on Thursday, May 15.

Police said the teen has not been heard from since she failed to check in for her booked flight.

She was last seen carrying luggage and wearing a green tank top and grey sweatpants.

Police conducted a land search of Airport Drive and the surrounding areas on Monday, but were unsuccessful in finding the girl or any of her.

Update 1: Missing girl, Bundaberg

QPS Media on May 21, 2025 @ 9:47am
Police have declared two crime scenes as the investigations into a 17-year-old-girl reported missing from Bundaberg continue.

Pheobe Bishop, pictured, was last seen at Airport Drive, Bundaberg around 8.30am on May 15.

She did not check in for a booked flight and has not been seen or heard from since.

A property in Gin Gin, where Pheobe was living prior to her disappearance, and a grey Hyundai ix35 believed to be the car Phoebe travelled to Airport Drive in, have been declared crime scenes. Police have seized the car.

Police are continuing to appeal to the public for dashcam and CCTV footage of the grey Hyundai ix35 with Queensland registration 414EW3 (pictured) near the Airport Drive and Samuels Road area in Bundaberg and also the Gin Gin area on May 15.

Investigations are ongoing and her disappearance is now being treated as suspicious.

Anyone with information regarding Pheobe’s whereabouts is urged to contact police immediately.

Phoebe is described as approximately 180cm, pale complexion, long dyed red hair, and hazel eyes.

She was last seen carrying luggage and wearing a green tank top and grey sweatpants.

Investigations are ongoing.

Not a great update. It sounds like the car she travelled to the airport in was with people she knew? Has that been confirmed?

“Acting Police Inspector Ryan Thompson said on Tuesday that Pheobe was dropped off at the airport by 'associates' but never made it to the terminal.”

The texts between her and her aunty are very telling that there were some not nice things happening where she was living. Also very odd she randomly messaged her aunty after years of not speaking to her.

I wonder if PB had got into drugs and that's why her mum had kicked her out and her dad said no to her living there and that's how she ended up with TB and JW who seem to be well known for drugs within the community.

It's so sad, if only her dad had said yes we may not be having these discussions now. I am sure he is beating himself up about that right now, poor guy.

IMO
Judging by social media texts reported in MSM
her mental state was deteriorating.

Not to mention
her physical appearance described by supermarket workers
(also reported in MSM)
who said she looked dishevelled and as if starving.

I still remember the report about her text concerning father.
Very disillusioned.

I agree.
I think she was desperate for some family connection and even if PB and her aunty didn’t speak in a long time, it shows she might have been in a desperate situation.

I agree but that doesn’t explain why she was kicked out. Surely if just mental health her mum would help her

Wasn’t mom friends with PB’s flatmates?

It sounds to me that the police may now be analysing and working from more detailed data - perhaps they now have more telecomms/gps data from individuals phones.
Sometimes the drilled down data takes a while to come through from service providers, and tower dumps take a while to go through.

imo

However, police on Wednesday confirmed the national park search had been suspended as they focus on the nearby Gin Gin area.

Police are continuing the search for Pheobe around Gin Gin, near Bundaberg, where the teenager lived.

“Investigations are ongoing and police are continuing to run out several lines of inquiry,” a police statement said on Wednesday.

“In addition to investigative work, physical searches will continue as needed and as information is provided.

“The greater Gin Gin area remains the focus of the investigation.”
