Australia Australia - Pheobe Bishop, 17, failed to board a scheduled flight from a Queensland Airport. Last seen Airport Drive, Bundaberg, 15 May 2025 #2

Could it be since 3G shut down in Australia it's going to be harder in regional to get the ping

Also from mushroom case you don't have to be in that location for a ping the phone is going to be greedy go for the best tower

Wouldn't the perfect crime be to keep your phone switched on and at home or another location

Turning it off then back on is a dead ringer for criminal activity anyone would know this by now days

I Would be interested to know the pay phone in the area if any numbers called that are friends from out of town potentially the male house mates bush mates

Someone asked in the previous thread about mobile reception in the area.

I'm with Telstra and I find you get a good signal in Gin Gin town, then 5 minutes or so down the road towards Bundaberg I lose signal for about 5-10 minutes drive, then most of the way to Bundy it's good.

Also I recently had a phone call that started in Bundaberg and did not cut off (lose signal) until around 10km from Gin Gin

Telstra is quite expensive I wonder if they with cheaper phone carrier

From Courier Mail & Daily Mail this morning. Re: boyfriend

Missing Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop’s last phone call was reportedly to her boyfriend who she was on the way to visit in Perth.
It is being reported that the 17-year-old called the boy as she travelled to the Bundaberg Airport from Gin Gin on her way to go see him.

However, he told The Daily Mail that he was unable to hear anything before the phone call cut off.

Queensland Police say Pheobe did not make it to Bundaberg Airport, despite her housemates James Wood and Tanika Bromley saying they dropped her there.
Her boyfriend said he waited for hours at Perth Airport before becoming concerned, posting on social media the day after Pheobe vanished “Maybe I deserve all the pain I am feeling right now, I mean it is my fault, I should have done better”.

It comes as Wood is been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R (short firearm) and authority to possess explosives.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The heartbroken boyfriend of missing teen Pheobe Bishop has revealed the worrying last call he received from her before she vanished on her way to see him.

Pheobe, 17, was en route from her rural hometown of Gin Gin near Bundaberg in central Queensland, to visit her high school sweetheart in Western Australia on the morning of May 15.

As she was being driven to the airport, Pheobe rang her boyfriend - but he was unable to hear anything before it cut off.

The youth - who Daily Mail Australia is not naming because of his age - told friends that he did not realise anything was wrong and went to the airport to meet her as planned.

But hour after hour, he waited in vain at Perth Airport terminal as flight after flight arrived without her on board.

Queensland Police are 'quite confident' that Pheobe didn't make it to the airport as she never checked in for her flight.

In Western Australia, Pheobe's childhood sweetheart has told friends how he blamed himself for her disappearance.

The couple had reportedly dated throughout their high school years in Queensland before his family relocated for work. They had only recently rekindled a long-distance relationship.

On May 16, the day after Pheobe was last seen, the teenager shared two haunting quotes to his social media account as he struggled with his guilt over her no-show.

'Maybe I deserve all the pain I am feeling right now, I mean it is my fault, I should have done better,' he posted the day after his girlfriend disappeared,' he wrote.

'Me staring at her dry texts wondering if I did something wrong and not asking cuz I don't wanna be annoying.'

Pheobe's bank account has not been accessed since May 14 and her social media remains untouched. Her phone switched off shortly after the last call to her boyfriend on her way to the airport.

There could (by now) be gps data also. That is less restricted than telecomms data as it is uses satellites.

imo

I'm curious to know if JW would be in custody after the weapons charges that came up yesterday?

"It comes as Wood is been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R (short firearm) and authority to possess explosives.

Police will allege a shortened firearm and ammunition was located in a Hyundai ix35 and a Gin Gin house at the centre of the search for the missing 17-year-old.

Bromley, has also been charged over weapons located in the car.

Wood was given a notice to appear and will face Bundaberg Magistrates Court on June 13."

Notice to appear - does that mean he was released? I'm not sure how these weapons charges work.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

PB's Tiktok bio(weed related emojis) and recent reposts indicate that she was probably partaking in weed use, but was against hard drugs. Also she reposted tiktoks about being conflicted about the negative side of weed use, and reposted tiktoks about using weed to cope with trauma.

When I went through it she had reposted quite a few tiktoks that were anti hard drugs.

I thought it had already been reported that the call to her boyfriend at 8:30 am was a FaceTime call. It was mentioned in the first thread, but I don't know if true or not. If true, then that would be how he knew it was really her calling, despite the fact that he was unable to hear anything, as he said.

Also, just because he said he couldn't hear anything when she called, doesn't have to mean literally nothing. It may have been more like a bad connection, full of static, or cutting out, where he was able to hear some but not all words, but may have been able to say with confidence that it was her voice. Or could also mean he heard literally nothing, in which case it could have been anyone making the call.

But not if it was a FaceTime call, as earlier reported. Maybe that wasn't true though.

Of course this can be taken with a grain of salt……

I wonder what the trauma was, could it be related to the mothers upbringing of her with the multiple step dads and not being able to live at home anymore, <modsnip: There is nothing to support speculation about heavy drug use in the family home>

Funnily enough, my partner has a phone on the Optus network and it has better reception in this area than mine on the Telstra network.

Optus, Telstra and Vodafone are the three major mobile network operators, and they own and operate their own physical network infrastructure, such as towers and spectrum. The other cheaper companies are mobile virtual network operators, which don’t own their own networks but instead lease access to Telstra, Optus, or Vodafone’s infrastructure to provide services.

Vodafone has a network-sharing agreement with Optus since January 2025, so it has performance pretty much on par to Optus.

It was me who said that. I read it in a comment from her aunty (not estranged one)

It appears he wasn't actually arrested. Just issued with a Notice to Appear which I find very interesting given they are gun charges. It is quite clearly all part of the QPS plan...

Please share some links. Where is it stated that she didn't call her bf? How do you know that TB wasn't dismissed from her NDIS job as soon as she was originally arrested? Innocent until proven guilty. Yes. But in these jobs people can be suspended until after her trial.
All the news of today states the call was made but nothing it was disconnected so technically she didn't call and speak to her boyfriend like it had been portrayed in the media before today

TB is a independent support worker if you look her up plus a support coordinator her job she lost with BP mother was with a provider so she wasn't an independent when she lost that job looks like she may have become an independent since loosing that job unless she was an independent before working for the same provider as the mother was but it's stated everywhere she was an independent so this couldn't be when she was working for the provider

Has there been any appeal from family on the TV?
Not that I know of. The mother had been posting once a day and an aunty also sharing some posts.
I find this really odd, and hopefully only due to Police having something up their sleeve. As a parent, I would definitely be doing things a lot differently (Yes just my opinion) if the police didn’t have tactics they wanted to use…
