From the above article, and bolded by me.

In August, police alleged Mr Mittelheuser interfered with their investigation by accessing Ms Bishop's mobile phone in the days before she was reported missing.

What do we make of this? Stealing money from her bank account, setting up the fact she may not come back with texts or maybe even social media posts? I'm a little rusty on this case so can't recall all the details.
In the days before she was reported missing? That's new... So, were they planning and implementing before she was murdered? I seem to remember the police saying that Pheobe was alive on the way to the airport. Unless that has changed now.

I think ABC have got it wrong in their reporting today.

Mittelheuser was charged with accessing Phoebe’s phone AFTER she went missing.

It's a pretty big mistake to make, and it's the ABC too, not the Daily Mail or the like.

If it was before, it would go a hell of a long way towards intent and pre meditated murder.

I’ve emailed the ABC to try to confirm if it should read “before” or “after”.

Either "before" or "after", it really sounds like there was something incriminating on her phone.
I must admit, it crossed my mind that she might have been assaulted at the house before (physically or sexually) and she could have confided in someone about that. But of course there is also a lot of other thing it could be.
