Wife of double cop killer Dezi Freeman reveals toll of the manhunt for her husband - as she breaks silence after he vanished into the wilderness and left her with nothing: 'Sad recluse'

“His wife of more than 20 years has also remained in the shadows and until this week, she had never been seen in public since the deadly ambush.

The Daily Mail traced her to a new home close to the horror crime scene, where she was spotted barefoot in the sunshine with her youngest child and a family friend.

Dressed in khaki pants and a pink top, she looked relaxed as she spoke with the young woman who was sitting with her.

With the family bus declared a crime scene and later torn apart during the police search, Ms Freeman has relied entirely on the kindness of friends, neighbours, and church members who have stepped in to offer clothes, meals, and a safe place to sleep.

'The police have not ruled out arresting her in connection with any part of this and she is terrified,' a family acquaintance said.

'She is a devoted mother and wants to protect her children, but she is scared of how the wider community sees her. She is scared someone will confront her about Dezi.'”

The article says that this week detectives were still preparing a brief of evidence against Ms Freeman and the investigation remains ongoing.

Been thinking about the recent tragic bushfires in Victoria and wondering how much of Mount Buffalo National Park was impacted.

Victorian police launch five-day search in national park for fugitive Dezi Freeman

“Victoria Police will spend five days scouring a remote section of Mount Buffalo National Park in the state's north-east as part of a renewed search for fugitive Dezi Freeman.

The renewed effort comes months after police announced a targeted search in December, which focused on locating evidence or the body of Mr Freeman.

The operation will focus on an isolated area of the park, with road closures expected.

Police will brief media this morning as the search continues.”

No proof of life...

but no proof of death either.

So that makes dead more likely? Or would that make alive more likely?

A live person can hide proof of life easier than a dead person can hide proof of death.

Usually!

I’m not in any way negating the fact that Dezi is responsible for the loss of 2 lives, along with serious injury to another. … and as with any crime, justice must be served on those responsible.

However, I personally have some challenges in accepting what seems to be a case of ‘who’s who’ as huge $ resources that have gone into this search, predominantly on the basis that his victims were members of the Victorian Police Force . .. while the Vic Police Force has been denied their requests for much needed resources to support their work - on the basis of ‘ no available funds ’ …
That’s IMO.

I hope he’s dead ( If for no other reason than that I don’t subscribe to the thought of propping up dangerous criminals with tax payer funds).
I hope he had the good sense to send his family back, then to walk into the bush and pull the trigger. And if he did that, he’s had the last laugh as he’s made a mockery of the constabulary that he despised by wasting $1.5 or more million and precious man hours needed elsewhere, while he lay dead & inconspicuous at their feet.

😮 I just got a business idea - maybe hire out some of the ‘skilled inmates’ to give lectures for those attending ‘detective academy’ 🤔 👮‍♂️ 🙇🏼 💡🦅
