That media pressure certainly worked and Lynn got his paint brush out and painted his car a different colour and may have said a few things that were recorded by police..

I've always thought police used a similar tactic with the media when finding Samantha Murphy's phone in a dam to put pressure on perhaps a second person involved in her disappearance, but there's no obvious signs of that working if it did happen.

Victoria’s Court of Appeal has listed the former airline pilot’s appeal against his conviction and sentence for October 31.

This one is a very large red herring.... he is actually accusing 12 jurors of individually and collectively conspiring to reach an erroneous conclusion. It's not that it has not been tried on before, it is quite unoriginal in it's concept, lots of convicted persons claim this particular aspect of their conviction , but it is difficult to think of any that have been successful. What the other three grounds are will be probably as unoriginal as this one is... However, he really only needs one ground to succeed ( and be definitively objectionable to the conviction )... for the appeal to be granted .

One of the grounds is against the evidence of ballistics expert Paul Griffiths (VicPol). He was the one who brought the murder weapon into court and showed the jury its operation.
It doesn't talk about the rest of the grounds, other than to say that Lynn's lawyer said (last year) that he was going to appeal against the prosecution’s closing address, which included statements never put to Lynn. (Who knows if that is in the actual leave for appeal.)
The media organisations are also petitioning against a 2023 suppression order preventing publication of details about Lynn’s past.
