High country killer Greg Lynn’s chequered criminal past revealed

May be behind a paywall. Posting it here for those who subscribe.

Your linked article says that prosecutors had wanted to introduce details of the former Mrs Lynn's death at the trial, but it was ruled inadmissible.

It also says that last year the HS reported that the former Mrs Lynn's death would be referred back to the Coroner in a bid for a new inquest, because the former Mrs Lynn lived in terror from Lynn's constant death threats and abuse.

When I look at their previous article that the HS linked (in your article) it says that the police intended to prepare a new brief of evidence for their submission to the Coroner.

(this is the HS article from June 2024)

This awful man has inflicted so much pain and misery on so many people. He should never have the chance to do it again.

I hope they go over his whole life, including his earlier trip away where he ended up painting his car a different colour.
And the disappearance overseas of a woman he was seeing.

I missed this bit that police have been looking into the woman in Qatar who was said to be missing.

As we have all speculated, GL has a very deep and dark past. His manipulation, lack of empathy, and focus on self-interest have come to light time and time again.
Now that the Court has lifted the suppression order, which exempted the media from reporting on his past, the evil and disturbing character of GL leaves me feeling profoundly disgusted, revolted, and morally outraged!
  • Police took out a five-year intervention order following years of verbal and mental abuse towards his former wife, once using a sledgehammer to break into her house.
  • Lynn twice breached the order and escaped from police after telling officers he would retrieve a daily organiser hidden in bushland near the home. Who hides a daily organiser in bushland?
  • The disappearance of a woman during his time as a pilot for Qatar Airways is also being investigated.
  • An incident where he killed a neighbour's dog and strung it over the fence.
  • A further incident where he killed a dog with a bow and arrow. The dog was chained up and didn't die immediately.
  • Killing the family's pet pig and, after their separation, he turns up at windows at night wearing a pig's mask and threatening, 'I'll cut you up like I did the pig,'
In my opinion, this is only the tip of the iceberg.
I can not look at his face when reading articles that include photos of him. HE IS PURE EVIL.
My thoughts are with Carol, Russell, and Lisa's families, friends, and loved ones - I could not even begin to imagine the devastation and heartache that he has inflicted upon them.

We need someone not in Australia to see if the audio plays for them.

Working for me in the UK, always enjoy Unravel’s podcasts so looking forward to giving this series a listen.

New police investigation into Lisa Lynn’s death stalls over bill for expert report, family says

The family of Lisa Lynn, the late first wife of High Country killer Greg Lynn, says a fresh investigation into her death has stalled because Victoria Police will not pay for a report into whether the scene of her death could have been staged.

"It costs $9,000 and so it's just a matter of that money that Victoria Police won't release," said Ms Lynn's sister, Linda.

The Victorian government can't find a paltry $9,000 yet we read elsewhere:

The Allan government’s spending on external economic and policy advice is set to surge to more than $81 million this year -- AFR

The family offered to pay it but got no response
This reminds me of Maureen Braddy and Allan Whyte.
The family believes that Maureen was shot, and her body was later buried in a well at their Bendigo home alongside Allan.
Police have never searched the well, and because of an extension of the former Braddy home, it is now covered by a room.
Members of the Braddy family have made repeated pleas to Victoria Police to uncover the well and search it and the mine. Police offered a million-dollar reward to solve the mystery.
In 2014 (46 years after their disappearance), police told Maureen’s family that they had been ordered to dump the case and put it in the “too-hard basket”.
