It could be as simple as an accidental one punch kill from anger and then the problem of the body. I really don't know.

It seems that in Qld, the one punch kill is charged as Unlawful Striking Causing Death.

And, surprisingly, this .... :what:

Before the 2014 amendments were introduced, a person who king hit or punched another individual, which then caused the death of that individual, may not have been held liable for murder or manslaughter. This was due to the evidential “gap” in both offences.

That makes no sense according to the timeline which states that his car was stationary at the reserve at that time until the 8th.

I cant remember the time of bald hills but the direction is AWAY from deep water bend so i think after? Anyone remember?

Doesn't it say that the car was sighted at Deep Water Bend at 1pm on the 7th? Then the tailing footage (away from Deep Water Bend) was mid-arvo of that day?

So, it would fit with the timeline okay. Unless I am totally confused ... which is very possible. :floorlaugh:

About 1pm, his Mustang was at a carpark at the Deep Water Bend Reserve at Bald Hills, Qld, where it remained until around midnight.
About 8.30pm the next day on Wednesday, March 8, his car was seen 166km south at Wooyung in Northern NSW.
The car was found abandoned and with its windows down on Tweed Coast Rd the following morning. (Added by me: we now know that this was before Sam was reported missing).

Detectives will allege they can trace Boscaino and Dyball’s movements via a *series of CCTV cameras and hits on phone towers in the days following Mr Thompson’s disappearance.

On March 7, a CCTV camera near Boscaino’s home caught the Mustang pulling into the Bald Hills property where it stayed for several hours.

Boscaino will be accused of buying the tools and acid at a Bunnings store on March 10, before returning the next day to hire a floor sander.

The only thing I can think of, is that Sam's car did not remain at Deep Water Bend until midnight. But did a back and forth trip during the arvo.

Are you sure that the footage is away from Deep Water Bend, nickers?

Also, is there CCTV in the carpark - or nearby - at Deep Water Bend reserve that could have recorded the day/night's movements of the car?
Because a fisherperson, or other witness, could perhaps just not have noticed an hour or so of Sam's car not being there during that time period. If they only saw it in their own coming and going, or in their changing of fishing locations, or such.

[h=1]Update 3: Missing man, Albion[/h] QPS Media on Mar 22, 2017 @ 3:49pm

Footage released today depicts a white Chrysler 300 (similar to the one pictured) following Sam’s vehicle in the Bald Hills area on the same day.

Sam’s vehicle was then sighted in the carpark of the Deep Water Bend Reserve at Bald Hills around 1pm on Tuesday and remained there until the following day.

http://mypolice.qld.gov.au/blog/2017/03/22/update-3-missing-man-albion/

So, the tailing footage was prior to Sam's car being sighted at Deep Water Bend. Whether it was coming or going from there, we are not sure, though nickers' local knowledge seems to think it was coming from the Deep Waters Bend direction. And a little earlier in the arvo than we first thought.

Thanks, Amee. You have saved our confused minds! :loveyou:

I'm starting to think that given that we know:
1. the Mustang was found before Sam was reported missing
2. the Mustang had it's windows down and was unlocked
that it is a fair conclusion is that the perps left it in an obvious place hoping it would be stolen, and it had traces of Sam in it that led police to fear foul play. So I do believe Sam's body was in it at some stage, and he bled.
I think that is why the case has been so urgent and high profile from day one.

I could be wrong.

ugh so much trouble trying to edit my post. The ABC timeline is the same as QPS

I guess the question is did Sam drive the car to deep water bend or was it the other two. ?
My thinking is,
Sam left apartment
Goes to RB's is murdered.
Then they move the car to dwb before moving it again.
The other senario could be they met at dwb and left his car there and they went back to rb's where he was murdered ?

The first makes more sense. Get the distinctive car away from the house.
