Inheritance? Rich family? Have we heard anything regarding that?

Haven't got to the end of the thread but not that I've seen or read...

You know what...I just took another look at the video of Sam in the foyer and then walking towards his car in the underground carpark. I swear he has something down the front of his shorts and is hiding it cause he again pulls at his shirt, not once but twice, like he is making sure it's covered. (Like in the foyer I mentioned he straightened his t-shirt in the front, like, when you're hiding something down the front of your pants)... MOO

Hmm...okay, in the foyer, it looks like he was going to take the stairs but decided on the lift because it looks like he presses a button on the wall..

I just looked it over after seeing your comment and I totally agree with you. It even looks like he avoids the camera when he first leaves his apartment. I find it interesting that he chooses to put the sunglasses on before he leaves the building, most people would wait and if they didn't it would be much more casually done, I doubt they would mess with it as much as he does. He continually adjusts his sunglasses and shirt. I believe he puts the sunglasses on before he leaves because of the camera in garage. And he definitely adjusts his shirt again before getting into his car. It looks like something sort of heavy is in his shorts causing them to sway in an odd way. I believe he may have chosen to take the lift rather than the stairs so that whatever was in his pants stayed put and he wouldn't have to resituate it again.

Does anyone know where he was going that day?

They are huge festivals, I am in my early 30's but when I was in my 20's heaps of friends would go down to these festivals. Its a big deal. I dont believe its of significance where the car was dumped, I think it was far enough away from the Northside for the perp to 'distance' themself from it.

I agree that they wanted to distance themselves from it, but that doesn't mean they weren't familiar with that area or had at least been there before, knowing it was remote enough that they could dump it without anyone seeing. Someone would of had to be in another car following them so whoever was driving the mustang could be picked up after dumping ST's car. I believe they saw how much attention the car was getting and decided to ditch it, it could have been a very quick decision to put the car there.

In the video of the robbery I find it interesting how hesitant they are. The second guy coming up the stairs seems to want to leave several times and the other talks him in to going through with it, then they both almost leave a couple times but then decide to just do it. I wonder why they are so hesitant like there was a bit of remorse or uncertainty. They obviously had prior knowledge of what they would find inside the residence as far as what they would steal and knew about the car. I really believe it was someone close to ST someone close enough to his inner circle that they knew about his expensive belongings.

I also just noticed when rewatching the footage of ST leaving his apartment, after he is in the car and about to drive through the gate that's opened he stops for a good while and he looks back very quickly and waits and looks back a little bit again and then continues to drive. Could someone have been inside the car? And at that moment ST notices and whoever it is tells him to drive and where to. I know its a stretch but I just find it odd that he stops and looks back so quickly its not like he stops and is doing something in the back seat and so he's looking back its a very quick look and why sit there for so long? I wonder if they have more of that footage to determine who else was in that garage and if anyone went across the camera but never left in a car? Or maybe they entered his vehicle off camera.

Here is the link again in case anyone wants to see it.

Relooking at the video of him leaving his unit...

To me it appears he was planning on leaving via the stairs (green exit signs above his head at end of corridor)....his body was directed firstly at that door...

He then stops..

He hesitates for a moment to look at his reflection on the lift (possibly metalic surface) and adjust his clothing ...... he then goes to open the door ... very quickly raises hands to head (quick thought, perhaps...)

Readjusts glasses again and ends up using the lift...

Is it possible Sam felt uncomfortable about his safety in someway ...to not want to use the stairs...??
My theory is that the sunglasses didn't fit very well and that the door to the stairs was locked. When he discovered or remembered that he couldn't use the stairs, he stopped abruptly and that dislodged the sunglasses slightly, hence the readjustment.

I have to agree, something is going on in the exit of the garage.
In this cctv footage as ST approaches his car, the garage is up. Someone has just exited.
The he drives his car toward the exit as the garage door is going down.
He stops his car under the garage door as it senses his car.
Yes, I see him turn his head to the rear of the car.
I don't know whats going on, why he pauses so long under the garage door.
Just like in the foyer, he seems to be hesitating with exiting.

Door access to stairwell can't be locked for safety reasons. If there's a fire, lifts can't be used. He did hesitate though but it didn't look like he actually touched the handle of the door, he must have heard the lift moving up/down.

Those robbers didn't look very professional to me. For starters, way too much hesitation going on there. Looks like they were debating whether to go ahead with it or not. The one who's still on the stairs with their hand on the rail, looks like they'd rather be anywhere but there and the other one on the other hand is like.."c'mon, don't be a wuss, let's do it"... It's almost comical. I reckon those guns were just for show, cause those two did not act like they had it in them to rob the place let alone shoot anyone. Very strange! MOO

You noticed it too.....way too much hesitation going on there, yes!!!! I too believe they had to have prior knowledge of who lived there...who they'd find there and above all the breed of DOG ST had. I think it was JLZ who pointed out they may have heard the dog barking so were hesitating...but they still barged in the door....... you'd not do that if you didn't know what breed of dog was behind the door, surely.

Glad you picked up on it too and I wasn't the only one! Looks real suss to me! The adjusting his t-shirt---if he had a couple of rolls, I'd understand lol but he hasn't, he looks in great shape which is why it stands out. Very suspicious behaviour to say the least. MOO

Symbah pointed out that it may not have even been the lift...he could have been ringing a doorbell to another apartment! Hard to tell from the CCTV angle. If it was another apartment, maybe a hot chic lived there hence why he was straightening himself up and making himself look good lol....(I doubt it though).

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to say...great point about access to stairs!

Fire exits are sometimes locked, safety reasons notwithstanding. But I agree it's plausible Sam heard the lift closer than he'd expected and changed his mind. A pity we didn't get to see the video up until he stepped into the lift.

IMO Sam looks agitated. He thinks about going down the stairwell then looks at the lift and it is close to his floor. He looks nervous, was there a phone call prior to leaving his unit or was he meeting someone to feel concerned about?

He has a Staffy and a Chihuahua type dog, I wouldn't mess with a Staffy, but if these people are the same type to do what the police have eluded to I doubt the robbers back in September would care about the dogs being there.

I can remember hearing the report on the local radio when the car was stolen so clearly. Im checking all the time for updates. His poor family

Just looking on FB I have a mutual friend of his mothers :(

Yes, his poor family. It is incredibly hard to picture him being somewhere safe at this stage.

I think it's people he knows also. That pole on the stairs should have a cornacopia of fingerprints!!!! He touches it so many times without gloves. Wonder why they took the car only to dump it??? Some kind of payback or revenge type thing!! Moo

the bag in the video that the smaller robber has, it looks like a Crumpler bag
https://www.crumpler.com/au/work-bags/

very much a high end bag shop for men in the city....not your average thing a robber would have maybe? Unless he stole it from the last job...I cant imagine a local burglar having that....

Nice, I was also trying to figure out the type of shoes they were wearing. They seem pretty distinctive with the stripe down the top front and around the base.

His demeanor fits him carrying something in his shorts.

I think they are running shoes, they have reflective material.

Is it sam in the second part of the video, looks like he lets them in to a garage?
