A search warrant was executed overnight at an address in Albany Creek where a white Chrysler 300 was seized by police.

Thanks Seabreeze, an interesting update. Seems clear that the owner of the Chrysler was involved somehow, if it has taken this long to locate them and they haven't come forward voluntarily. That cctv footage shows both cars leaving Deep Water Bend mid afternoon (from the length of the tree shadows) and therefore Sam's mustang was not there from 1pm to the morning as media initially reported - or is covering a lot of ground with all the sightings and came back! Hopefully police can see who is driving and they have lots of other footage supplied.

I live locally but in a parallel universe - have not seen anything that may be helpful.

Pretty sure it's just a reference to the guy in the police fb comments who witnessed the yelling with the other car.

He said the reason he noticed the exchange between the 2 vehicles was that when this all took place he'd been about to "line Samuel up with the ute & make him realise what a Chevy was".

The same guy also said in that post ....that after the altercation: car took off to Aspley.

I'll assume this meant the encounter took place on Gympie Road and the Chrysler exited the Aspley turn off .....

Given todays news that the car (Crystler) has been found in Albany Creek ....just up the road from Aspley ...... then what this guy said about the encounter holds weight..

Hoping we here of an arrest ..... really soon.

I've lived in this area of Brisbane most of my adult life, coming and going after periods away....
It is quiet and understated drug area, the drugs are around you just have to find them. Not like some suburbs where the drugs find you.
When I was in high school at Albany Creek (the suburb where the c300 was located) it was a well known drug suburb. Just hidden under the surface, not in your face. Same as Aspley and Chermside.
So it would not surprise me at all if it was drug related - but that will not be confirmed until the information is released from the search if it is released.
He probably got caught up in a syndicate and owed money. Perhaps the mustang was bought with profits or funds that were not his and they came to collect? Just speculation and only my opinion.

Unfortunately on a lot of occasions when parents say 'oh he was a quiet boy, loved doing this or that and didn't have trouble with anyone', it's because they didn't know, or are in denial that their child is involved in bad things. Sometimes if they look outside the bubble they may have information that can help police. They may not know it, but denying your child is involved in something shady isn't going to help. I think that may be what some of the comments in the press conference were in reference to. Their comments struck me as VERY odd.

It's natural to think your kids are good and I understand that the parents are grieving. It sounds like their son will be found, but not alive.
It must be heart breaking.

Honestly, my parents never knew half the stuff I got up to as a child in the 80's-90's. Never anything illegal, but if I did, they probably wouldn't know.

I just hope for his parent's sake they find him one way or the other. It's better to know than never know.

But the rain is not going to help their efforts if the evidence is outside like the waste dump. It's absolutely pouring here and hasn't stopped. More rain is forecast and wind.

Wow, so the are saying he was murdered. I hope they can now recover Samuel from wherever he is. How tragic. Hope they throw the book at the ba*tard if he is guilty, and whoever else might be found to be involved. I think we knew this wouldn't have a good outcome, :(

I also think this is drug related.

Sadly... I think this may involve one of his friends.

Not entirely convinced its drug related though ......

Sad all round .....

This is what I thought also. :(

Even though that's awful news, I'm glad they got the guy (or one of the guys....it seems like there may be more than one involved imo).

It does seem pretty amateurish, to use such a conspicuous vehicle (the Chrysler) to trail him with if you're planning to murder him. Maybe it's not a sophisticated drug hit like I thought. I guess we'll find out.

(though my partner just told me that the Chrysler is a total drug car too.....)

Such a sad, sad shame. Now there will be at least two families grieving for their children. Sam's family, and the arrested man's family. :( :(

Good on Qld police for not wasting any time. Would hate to have seen the arrested man flee before police had a chance for the arrest.

How awful. We can only hope the man arrested gives them the location of Samuel.

I hope so too, :( How dare some a**hole/s take the life of their precious son. I hope they nail them to the wall if there was more than one involved, and they go down for a long time.
Police have done a good job to get an arrest, and must have found enough evidence to bring a murder charge.

That chrystler is such a wannabe gangster car.

It just looks like another hotted up modified vehicle a lot of the young guys enjoy showing off with, IMO. Lots of them around here where i live.

Hi Sleuthers

My husband said they named the guys charged with murder on the Brisbane channel seven local news. I missed it. Did any other local Brisbanites see this or can find the video replay of tonight's news report?
