No mention of a lawyer for Rob, yet they were so quick to name one for the second POI.

He doesn't necessarily have to have already been treated by a doctor. He'll be having psych assessments in the lead up to any trial.....many people have undiagnosed PTSD. It doesn't mean it's discounted just because it was only diagnosed during a court assessment.

And I agree Fieldsroyal......I wouldn't be at all surprised if he takes that angle. Or whatever angle he can. If it's true that he was deemed unfit for the army due to psych testing, then he'll try to use that to his advantage now, I'd expect.

jmo

It depends on the reason why he failed Psyche test for the military? It could of been for immaturity because i know that is one reason you will get knocked back for military service.
And as far as PTSD,
It's important to keep in mind that these are extreme cases, particularly the last one. In most cases, PTSD does not lead to criminal behavior. Much of what is seen on this issue in the media is a result of savvy lawyers conjuring up defenses for their clients that would have likely committed the crime regardless if they had PTSD or not. Lawyers know that the average citizen sitting on a jury will have a great deal of sympathy for the veteran, which they hope will result in a favorable outcome for their client.

And AD is not a returned Veteran in the true sense. He didn't serve in the Military as an enlisted soldier. He went overseas all gung ho to do his own thing and was lucky he wasn't charged with crimes in Australia for that at the time. He even challenged police on that from what i read about him.

I do recall at the arrest of the first POI he did not apply for bail which IMO says to me hat he may know he had no chance....? Just a guess.

Could also be that he felt safer being locked up, he may not want to face family and the shame it may bring to them etc.

He could have one by now, or maybe he has opted not to have one?

He appeared in a Magistrates court originally didn't he ? Bail can't be granted in that court it needs a higher court - District or supreme from memory. Can anyone else confirm this ?

Boscaino’s legal team requested an adjournment and the case will return to court on May 8.

My logic brain says - if bail was not requested, perhaps they were waiting to see what kind of a deal they could get if they gave up details of the body ect??
These are kinds of strategies that lawyers will seek. To keep something for a deal or a lower sentence to barter with later on.
Perhaps giving up the body will make for an easier bail application? IMO

Another interesting tidbit from a local, the area where body was found is nicknamed 'mafia graveyard' by some. Obviously not a nice place to hang around.

Only the Supreme Court has the power to grant bail in the case of murder in Qld.
All other levels of the court in Qld must refuse bail.

Detectives will allege they can trace Boscaino and Dyball’s movements via a *series of CCTV cameras and hits on phone towers in the days following Mr Thompson’s disappearance.

On March 7, a CCTV camera near Boscaino’s home caught the Mustang pulling into the Bald Hills property where it stayed for several hours.

Boscaino will be accused of buying the tools and acid at a Bunnings store on March 10, before returning the next day to hire a floor sander.

^ sounds like they made a mess :(

I would consider that rumor at the moment. It is not known how Sam died yet, and the acid could of been bought to get rid of evidence on the body or whatever. Until more is known about it all we don't know. All IMO.
Check it out turned out to be true who would have thougt!!

Wow. These murderers really sound incompetent, don't they? Just fine to jump and take the life of another human being. :(
But pretty darn stupid in their following actions. (Well, pretty darn stupid in murdering someone, too, imo.)

Now I see that person above them not only saying 'chimps' and chuckling. I also see them saying 'get word to them that if they say a word about our operations, they are gone!'

Really incompetent. RB probably used a credit card to buy his 'clean up' materials and left an easy-to-follow electronic trail.

I'm wondering if they didn't plan it? It sounds like they had nothing ready......Maybe they were going to just give Sam a scare but it got out of hand......

Sounds very possible. Tempers flared, terrible things happened. Then they spent time driving here and there, trying to work out what to do with Sam and his car.

Im sure all will be revealed soon enough. If they bought the items subsequent to the murder makes you wonder how he passed

And even dumping the car in Wooyung seems really foolish imo.

Like I said earlier in the thread, there are SO many areas of totally secluded bushland here in Northern NSW that barely any people go to. To dump it in the bush at Wooyung - a really small village where people would notice that car as it drove through - just seems insane to me. It would have stood out a mile.

And purchasing the items three days after Sam's car was captured for several hours on cctv at the Bald Hills home.
