What would be in it for Sam to be a drug informant? He wouldn't really benefit monetarily from what i have read. So why would he do that i wonder if that's in fact what got him killed?

But i am wondering do they normally announce how many are working a case ? I am thinking if they don't normally say it maybe that's normal amount ? I have no idea obviously

40+ is a huge number of police to pull from every case and from all their respective jurisdictions to look for a missing person.

They were grilled by the press about how many were on the case. They didn't just offer up the info. Evidently the press may have heard whispers in the circles that the court and crime reporters move in imo. The questions they asked were quite pointed.

Which leads me to wonder, if Sam was an informant, do the perps get the same penalty that you get for killing a police officer?

I would of thought 40+ police on the case was because of the suspected foul play and possible murder of ST very early in the case? Isn't that normal when there is such a case where the evidence of ST's abandoned car, & missing status would be of urgent priority?

Good point they definitely asked, and now you mention there were some pointed questions early maybe they don't regularly and that's what my head was trying to get to And I have no idea on your question but I think probably not

For QLD is was very quick response for a 'simple' missing person.
I can't wait for more LE info if we do get it.
The investigator in me has a few theories but it was a very quick and targeted response yes I agree IMO.

Maybe because of what investigators found out early on. But i'm just guessing about that. I guess when i have followed missing child cases there are a huge amount of people involved in the first few days, so not really unusual IMO.

Clem 7 goes roughly from wiolloongabba to the rbwh and airport link from rbwh to three exits as far north as east west arterial with an exit at Sandgate rd.

I've been involved in missing persons cases in real life....there is no way that it's a normal response to bring in all those detectives!!

Quite the opposite - in my experience it's usually very difficult to get LE to take it seriously at first since 95% of missing people turn up again, usually within the first week. (Source: https://www.missingpersons.gov.au/find-out-more-about-missing-persons/faqs) The vast majority of missing people have left of their own volition.

Such a big LE response definitely speaks of a much larger operation than just one guy gone missing....jmo.
