Read the news this morning about James Ramage (who killed his wife Julie Ramage and buried her in a shallow grave in the countryside) being out on parole in Victoria. www.heraldsun.com.au Following widespread community outrage, laws were changed.

The Victorian Adult Parole Board is an independent statutory body established under the Corrections Act 1986.
The General Manager of the Victorian Parole Board is Mr. David Provan.
The address of the Victorian Adult Parole Board is:-

Hey Fuskier - have you got a link to the article itself - the one above just goes directly to the HS front page and I can't find the story you are referring to - thanks :)

Try typing directly into your Google bar: killer on parole uses an alias

Ramage was released from prison last year after serving his minimum eight years for killing his wife Julie in 2003.

Ramage admitted that he had strangled the mother of his two children after he had bashed her at their family home.
He then buried her in a shallow grave near Kinglake.

A year after being freed from prison, Ramage is back living the high life he once enjoyed as a wealthy Melbourne businessman.

He is now driving around in a Porsche convertible and scored a high-ranking role at Dimmeys head office.

All snipped by me from The Herald Sun article.

I'm astounded - 8 years? The same article also says he has found love again and is living with a new woman and her children.

Sorry for being OT <modsnip>.

BACCHUS Marsh residents have painted their town pink in honour of Sarah Cafferkey and to call for an end to violence against women.
Wearing Ms Cafferkey's favourite colour, more than 1000 people joined her friends and family in a march through the town.
Her devastated mother Noelle Dickson, with Ms Cafferkey's beloved dog Sprocket, led the march organised to pay tribute to the bubbly woman killed on November 10 and to protest against recent violence against women such as Ms Cafferkey and Jill Meagher, 29.
The event culminated in the planting of a flowering gum tree at Maddingley Park and the release of hundreds of pink balloons

Thank you very much Fuskier for that information.

MILLIONAIRE wife-killer James Ramage will be forced to explain at a hearing why he's been using an alias since being released on parole.
The Sunday Herald Sun can reveal the Adult Parole Board will hold a hearing late this week to determine if Ramage breached conditions of his release.
The board was informed that Ramage has been using the name James Stuart at Dimmeys, where he works in the head office.
The parole board has obtained emails that allegedly show Ramage's new moniker.
If Ramage has breached his bail conditions he could go back to jail to serve out the remaining two years of his term.
Ramage was released from prison last year after serving his minimum eight years for killing his wife Julie in 2003.
He beat a murder charge after his lawyers successfully argued Ramage had been provoked by his wife. The provocation defence has since been scrapped after widespread outrage.
Ramage admitted that he had strangled the mother of his two children after he had bashed her at their family home.
He then buried her in a shallow grave near Kinglake.
Ramage - whose middle name is Stuart - is prevented from changing his name without the parole board's permission.
The Sunday Herald Sun revealed last week that Ramage made inquires to change his name in March but was yet to submit a formal application.
Parole Board general manager David Provan said it was made "very clear" to Ramage that he would be in breach of his parole conditions if he changed his name without permission.
<modsnip>

**The Parole Board will determine in a hearing whether he Breached Conditions of his release.....***
Of course he breached those conditions, imo he should just be picked up out of his Porche and put straight back to jail. He was warned that he would be breaching those conditions if he did not make a formal request to the Parole Board to change his name. The Parole Board never received that formal Request.

He was released from Prison last year after serving his minimum 8 years...
He is living with a woman who has children???? Does she know his background?**
:banghead: :furious:

Another case in Bris court today has some similarities to Sarah's case....

SUNSHINE Coast barmaid Justine Jones was viciously murdered by a jealous and infatuated lover who hid her body in a wheelie bin and left her to be compacted and dumped at a rubbish tip, a Brisbane court has heard.
Richard Peter Coburn, 29, pleaded not guilty before Supreme Court Justice Margaret Wilson to murder and to interfering with Ms Jones's corpse at the Alexandra Headlands apartment she shared with a girlfriend on July 7, 2010.

Crown prosecutor David Meredith told a jury he believed the accused was infatuated with Ms Jones, 22, who was ''very pretty and attractive to men'' and had killed her ''out of jealousy''.

I have just had a really frightening experience.. I went to the shops just around the corner from where I live, it was about 6.30pm so was dark but plenty of people around. As I was walking into the shop a man in a car slowed down, rolled his window and said something to me, I ignored it but then a few minutes later he walked up the aisle I was in and approached me. I said "What?" and went and stood behind a man in the aisle but when that man left he started to approach me again and licked his lips, I told him not to come near me and walked away, almost crying. I was so close to going up to the security guard, but felt silly.

I'm living away from home in the UK at the moment and had no one to call because of the time difference and boyfriend was at work, so the walk home was really scary for me. I just kept thinking of JM and how I should react if he jumps out from a corner or follows me home.

Women shouldn't have to worry like I did tonight. Yes there was a security guard that I'm positive would have helped, and I think actually saw something as he stayed near me until I left, but what kind of world are we living in when a man thinks it is perfectly ok to not only stop his car and say something to a woman on her own at night, but to actually follow her into a store. He felt confident enough to do this is in a public place too which frightens me so much.. What if there was no one around, what would he have done then?

We shouldn't feel like we are over reacting if put into a position like that, there were plenty of people to help but I didn't want to make a scene, and I worry this is where JM went wrong. She rang her brother for help but didn't want to seem silly.

I needed to get this off my chest as I can't tell anyone back home or my Dad will make me come home! I'm so sick of not feeling safe just because I'm a woman.

Jmbr it is best to report this incident to the Police immediately. This man was a predator and his behaviour threatened your safety. He pursued you into the shop and within the shop. Police may know him, his behaviour may be escalating. You could prevent another JM situation - if you report it to the Police.

Please contact Crime Stoppers, 1800 333 000, & report it. You don't need to give your personal details if you don't want to. Who knows, police may have already had other reports about this guy but they won't know until or unless they're alerted to it.

Fuskier and marlywings are right, Jmbr. If you report it to Crime Stoppers or make an incident report at your local police station, the police can make their presence more visible in the area by cruising around more and stopping into the local shops. They may even have an informal chat with shop staff to see if they have seen this person around. And at least you will have done what you can about it, which usually makes us feel safer and may help protect the next female he approaches.
The police can only help if they know. :)

Thanks guys. I'm in London but will definitely call police in the morning. Now I know I'm not over reacting. I wasn't sure if I was being silly but you are all right in what you're saying. Better safe than sorry, thinking now of all the women who stepped forward after JM with reports of men approaching them.

Jmbr...apologies...I was on the run & skipping through posts earlier today & missed where you'd mentioned you're in UK. A lot of good Aus Crimestoppers contact # would do you...lol. Great news though that you're going to contact police there to report the incident!!

What is going on .... ???? Another young girl murdered.

The 22-year-old's body was found next to her white four-wheel-drive about 300m from her grandparents' home, where she was living.

Ms Fullerton was a well-known Outback character and camel jockey.

Major Crime Officer-in-Charge, Detective Superintendent Grant Moyle said Ms Fullerton was at a hotel at 10.30pm last night and was on her way home when she was murdered.

Very likely the shop will have cctv, and that security guy saw something. Maybe you will remember his number plate too, or at least car description. Definitely let the police know, this moron needs sorting out sooner rather than later. London cops are good, they will take care of you xx
