Rapist Robert John Fardon can mask identity after prison photo deemed confidential
BY:RENEE VIELLARIS From: The Courier-Mail March 07, 2013 1:00AM
A NOTORIOUS Queensland rapist could be freed without the public ever knowing how he now looks because he has changed his appearance and his prison photo is considered "confidential information". Bravehearts executive director Hetty Johnston yesterday implored the Government to release the photo of Fardon if Mr Bleijie lost his appeal. "If you're going to release him and betray us all at least let us know what he looks like and give the women and children a fighting chance," Ms Johnston told The Courier-Mail. "It is in the public interest." Justices John Muir, Robert Gotterson and Roslyn Atkinson will determine Fardon's future. The decision could be handed down at any time.

Yes Scoobysnack - outrageous. Needs a rethink IMO. Public can voice their opinions along with Bravehearts.

Inside the minds of Queensland's worst psychopaths, The Sunday Mail (Qld), March 10, 2013 12:00AM
THEY are some of Queensland's worst psychopaths - men with no conscience, incapable of seeing the terror in their victims' eyes. Psychiatrists say they are unreachable and untreatable . . . beyond help

Rapist Robert John Fardon to stay in jail after appeal
From: AAP March 28, 2013 11:54AM
NOTORIOUS serial sex offender Robert John Fardon will remain behind bars after the Queensland government won its bid to fight his release.
Child protection advocate Hetty Johnston said the decision was a win for common sense. "This is exactly the type of guy that should be never let out and I think we all know that," the Bravehearts founder told reporters outside court. Finally common sense and a win for the protection of women and girls in civil society IMO.

But unfortunately, he will still be able to appeal for release on a regular basis. Queensland's Attorney-General Jared Bleiije has stated that he is prepared to keep appealing any future decisions to release Fardon for as long as it takes.

I'd just like to know exactly WHY creatures like Fardon (and Bayley, Hunter, Luguancio, and others) are considered to have ANY rights at all? Ever?

They should be "lock the door and throw away the key" cases, surely?

And of course, I'm sure there are many others in the system who have been released on parole, or simply released, and we haven't heard about - yet...!

Serial rapist Robert Fardon to be released from jail

Sharon Tomlinson, who was raped by Fardon when she was 12, said it was “a very bad decision” by Justice Peter Lyons, who is yet to set a fixed date for Fardon’s release from jail.

She said the decision to release Fardon would be at a cost to someone else.

“He will reoffend. There is no doubt in my mind,” Ms Tomlinson said.

She appealed to Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie to do whatever possible to stop Fardon’s release.

Ms Tomlinson said Fardon turned and looked at her twice in court, and again turned around to stare at her after she asked him not to.

“He’s a defiant psychopath,” she said.

Fardon has spent most of his adult life in prison because of sex offences that began in 1966 when he was 18.

He was first given a bond for attempted carnal knowledge of a girl under 10.

Fardon was then jailed for the rape and assault of a girl, 12, at gunpoint.

Within days of his release in 1988, he was charged with the serious assault of a woman and jailed for 14 years.

Well, there goes the neighborhood. Releasing that man doesn't seen like a good idea, from any viewpoint I hope Sharon Tomlinson stays safe.

Lawyer for serial rapist Robert Fardon says he should be released immediately to enjoy 'fruits' of freedom

NOTORIOUS serial rapist Robert Fardon can be released from jail this afternoon after a judge rejected the state government's application for a stay of order granting his supervised release.

Supreme Court judge Peter Lyons this afternoon rejected an application by Queensland Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie to stay of his order last week to release Fardon pending an appeal.

Justice Lyons ordered Fardon could be released from his prison cell from 4pm.

Lawyers for the 64-year-old sex predator had earlier told the Brisbane Supreme Court there was no reason Fardon should be held in custody after a ruling he be granted supervised release back into the community.

Barrister Dan O'Gorman, QC, for Fardon, said: "He's entitled to the fruits of the judgment he obtained (granting him freedom).''

Queensland’s Court of Appeal has ordered a warrant be issued for the arrest of serial rapist Robert Fardon - just two hours after he was released from his cell.
Fardon was freed at 4pm on Friday after Supreme Court judge Peter Lyons refused an application to delay his release.
But Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie went to the Court of Appeal to keep Fardon locked up.
At 6pm, the Court of Appeal adjourned the hearing to Wednesday and ordered Fardon be kept in custody until then.

Fight this Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie!
Fight it with everything you have!!
This shouldn't even be happening - what a mess!

Queensland Government seeks to introduce new law to keep sex predator Robert John Fardon locked up for the rest of his life

October 08, 2013

SEXUAL predator Robert John Fardon faces dying in jail under State Government plans to keep him locked up forever.
Controversial legislation could be rushed through Parliament within weeks if today's latest Government appeal to keep Fardon in prison fails.

The law would only allow a dangerous sex offender to be released if a judge could be certain they would not reoffend

Serial Rapist Robert Fardon Back in Prison After Hospital Stay
Fardon has spent half his adult life in jail (since the age of 18 years for rape). He was subject to a law which enabled him to be detained indefinitely in 2003 for crimes against women and children. Lawyers have been advocating his release back into the community ... but the State Government was awarded a stay of proceedings in the Court of Appeal. Previously assessed as a psychopath and a moderate risk of reoffending, an appeal hearing today will determine whether he will be released.
If this Appeal is successfu, QLD could have the toughest laws in the country in dealing with serial rapists such as Fardon and Bayley. Well done to the Attorney General for acting in the interests of the community and championing this change in the Law.
