An unidentified young woman found dead in a south Brisbane riverside park may be a foreign student.

It is understood police were contacted on Monday afternoon, shortly before Detective Inspector Rod Kemp cancelled a media conference.

A police spokeswoman said detectives were investigating if the woman was a foreign student.

"The investigators said they were looking into accommodation, backpackers and student accommodation in Brisbane," she told AAP.

It seems someone contacted police 2.30 this afternoon concerned they'd not seen a loved one in days.... a young foreign student.

In that video they state that she was found naked, which I hadn't read in the news reports :facepalm:

I'm wondering about how somebody dumped a naked body on a table in an inner city park and nobody noticed?

Detectives yesterday identified the woman – who was found badly beaten on the banks of the Brisbane River near the William Jolly Bridge last Friday – and believe she is a French student who had been living in Brisbane for about a year.
