Police have searched a Brisbane apartment in connection with the murder of a French exchange student.......

Last night police were seen searching an apartment complex for about one hour before leaving with bags of evidence, Nine News reports.

Police would not say who was living in the apartment but described the search as a "critical" part of their investigation.

A man believed to be aged in his 20s was also seen assisting police with their enquiries.

This is another truly horrid case from Brisbane. I know it sounds bad but the perp was known to her and that it wasn't another random murder. These parks aren't safe and sadly haven't been for quite some time.

Officers say they have questioned several witnesses in Quay Street, including the residents of a unit.

A backpacker operator say detectives searched the hostel over the weekend and asked him to identify a photo of a man.

It is understood police are also collecting CCTV footage from the street.

Police investigating the death of a young woman at a South Brisbane park say a number of people interviewed by detectives on Monday evening are not suspects in the case.

Detectives are yet to formally identify the woman, but believe she is a French student and have been trying to contact relatives overseas.

She said media reports about a man being taken into custody were not correct.

POLICE have released more details of the woman found murdered in South Brisbane’s Kurilpa Park last Friday.

The 21-year-old French national had been studying business at Griffith University on a student visa when she was killed in the early hours of last Friday.

The woman was found naked in the park, and police believe they have captured her last movements on CCTV footage through South Bank and to the park.

Detective Inspector Rod Kemp said the woman was last wearing a long dark pants, black ankle boots, a sleevless knitted beige shirt and a white shoulder bag.

All items have yet to be recovered.

Maybe there needs to be more education for foreign students and travellers regarding staying safe in Australia. It seems like they think it's super-safe, when in fact I would think that most Australian women wouldn't walk through an inner city park by themselves in the early hours of the morning.......

Maybe they should posters up in female toilets and at backpackers. Just a thought.

Initial investigations suggest she was the victim of a random and brutal attack.

Detective Inspector Rod Kemp described the attack as "particularly aggressive".

"We believe the cause if death is a brain injury from blunt trauma. It's a particularly aggressive attack," Inspector Kemp said.

It's just so, so sad :facepalm:

Seeing her beautiful face makes it even worse......a young woman, who looked very happy, suddenly killed like that and left in such a degrading way - it's absolutely terrible.

Am sending deep love to her family.
