how sad.
Soooo little data provided to explain such horrendous family slaughter.

It's early days yet, and they have a living suspect in custody.

I have my own private theories, but nothing, as yet, that can be supported by information available at this time, which as you say is precious little.

I have a theory too. I drove past on my way to work and saw the heavy police presence but didn't expect it to be this. Rip

Chilling new details emerge about how a Taekwondo instructor strangled one of his students to death and killed the boy's parents - as his twisted past as a 'status-obsessed, serial liar' comes to light

A taekwondo instructor has admitted to killing his seven-year-old student and the boy's parents as his disturbing history as a status-obsessed serial liar was laid bare in court.

Kyung Kwang Yoo pleaded guilty to three counts of murder at Parramatta Local Court in Sydney's west on Thursday via video link.

CCTV captured the mother following Yoo through a classroom and into a storeroom.

He strangled her to death inside.

When his classes ended at 8pm, Yoo asked the boy to follow him into the same storeroom, where the child was also strangled to death.

Case facts state that after killing her and her son, Yoo took Ms Cho's BMW and drove to her family home in nearby Baulkham Hills.

There he found Mr Cho and repeatedly stabbed him in the head, neck and torso with a knife and a pair of scissors.

He murdered them for their BMW

"In between the first two murders he called his wife to say a BMW he had told her he was expecting to receive as a work car from a school where he had a part-time job “had arrived"

Life in jail for Sydney taekwondo teacher over family's murder

An envious martial arts instructor who once lied about competing in the Olympics has learnt his fate for viciously murdering two parents and their seven-year-old son.

Kwang Kyung Yoo strangled a 41-year-old mum and then the young boy in his studio at North Parramatta in western Sydney in February 2024.

He drove the woman's BMW to the family's home in Baulkham Hills and fatally stabbed the 39-year-old father.

The Taekwondo teacher formerly known as Master Lion sat with his head bowed in the NSW Supreme Court today as he was hit with a life sentence for his crimes.

The 51-year-old did not look at the victims' family and other supporters as they sobbed in the court's public gallery after the extreme sentence was handed down.

Justice Ian Harrison found the three murders were objectively very serious, motivated by a financially struggling Yoo becoming jealous of the family's success.

He set no parole date, meaning Yoo will die in prison.
