I read during the trial that a neighbour would time the length of the 'whippings' to give as evidence to DSS.

Tanillia and her little body is at rest now.

Thank you Ausgirl for all your links as I could not find them myself.

god, i am in oz and this is the first time i heard about this poor little girl...
DOCS has changed their policies regarding the reporting of children at risk after three major incidents with children at risk that, sadly, passed away. Teachers, doctors and nurses can now be de-registered if they fail to report any kind of abuse.
Too late for this little one, hope the person in charge of her case is held responsible...

They need to go further with changing policies. Right to the top of the ladder. They have changed their policies on reporting. That's all well and good, but what has changed about actioning these reports?

In this case there were 30 reports. What action did they take? Apparently it wasn't the right action. This is where the changes should start.

COVICTED child killer Warren Ross has abused the father of the little girl he murdered in dramatic scenes in a Sydney court.

Adrian Warrick, the father of two-year-old murdered girl Tanilla Warrick-Deaves, was reading an emotional statement about his daughter’s death during Ross’ sentencing submission in the Supreme Court when Ross began hurling abuse

Ross will be sentenced in May.

This murderer should have been hanging his head in shame. Can he be rehabilitated?
In my opinion "No!". He is another Gittany, does not believe he did anything wrong. I hope his out burst is taken into consideration when sentencing him.

He needs the toughest sentence they have got on the books and forget any early parole.

I can't get out of my head the torture poor little Tanilla went through.

Also D.H.S. has a lot of self examination to go through as well. They need a complete overhaul. JMOO

I just found out about this case from the Daily Mail article published today. It heartbreaking what happened to little Tanilla I can't understand how a "mother" could stand by and watch her little girl being abused. Why did they not just let the little girl live with her father if they didn't want her.

I am fed up reading stories about a mother's boyfriend abusing and murdering a child why does this keep happening?

Two days after Tanilla Warrick-Deaves should have turned five, her mother’s ex-boyfriend was found guilty of murdering her.
The two-year-old was being beaten to death by Warren James Ross, 30, in her mother’s home on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia, after he became frustrated that the little girl was not toilet-trained.

R.I.P Tanilla I'm so sorry this happened to you.

Wait. What? I'm trying to imagine a scenerio where I heard my neighbor BEATING a child, and I'm just sitting around gathering evidence. It is beyond my comprehension that the neighbor didn't
1. Beat on their door to stop it and
2.Call the police.
So as this tiny, helpless baby is being brutalized you have AT LEAST 2 adults sitting idly by (mom and neighbor). Unexcusable. Disgusting. I do not understand. Breaks my heart in a million pieces.

I was just going to post that article, Marly! Thank you!

Great news for justice, 40 years (30 non parole) is not life, which he deserves, but close enough to make me happy about it.

Good to see the sentence reflect the crime for once, when it comes to child abuse. Just a shame her slovenly thing of a mother didn't get the same.

Not enough time for this crime! :jail:

Too bad. Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time.

In prison, they do not look too kindly to people who hurt and kill children.
