Australia Australia - Tegan Lane, 2 days old, Sydney, 14 Sept 1996 *K. Lane guilty*

Yes. Fingers crossed that she is or that "Andrew" knows where she is.

I really hope the simplest explanation is true in this case. Andrew hasn't come forward because he simply doesn't know about all this. It is entirely possible!

Mebbe. But if Tegan isn’t with him, or he doesn’t know where she is, it’s just another story.

I don't think Keli needs to talk. She has given enough information. There are some ends to tidy up though. She is still talking to the ABC.

The new "compelling" evidence will come from new players in all this. How do you compel "Andrew" and others to give evidence? First "Andrew" needs to give a legally admissible statement somehow, to the Police, in Court. The Police don't want to be involved. They are not opening an investigation any time soon. As far as they are concerned it's all over and they are not admitting they botched the investigation. There is no case before the Court and I don't think the bar for a retrial or judicial review is there just yet. I hope I am wrong but I think there needs to be more than has been presented to the Attorney-General so far. So tricky at the moment. I really hope the case does go back to Court.

There is a possibility that this could all the cleared up really quickly but then it could get even more murky really quickly. Not sure which way it will go at this stage. Praying for the best outcome for "Tegan".
BBM. I respectfully beg to differ.

Yes, absolutely. We need "Andrew". I hope Tegan is with him.
Yes, IF he exists and IF she gave Tegan to him. I personally am awaiting proof first. I don't believe there is enough evidence to prove his existence just like there's no evidence that she disposed of/murdered Tegan.

I do think the simple explanation are the correct ones here though.

I think "Andrew" hasn't lodged the birth certificate because he is a bit slack when it comes to that kind of stuff. All this fuss because he didn't lodge a form!! OMG!

Consider this:
- "Andrew" can't be located through his tax returns. He simply doesn't lodge them. Maybe he works cash in hand? Keli said he had lots of cash in his wallet.
- "Andrew" might have moved into a friend's flat. Maybe his friend wanted to break the lease or something. Couldn't be bothered going through all the complications with the real estate agent. He and his friend never update the real estate agent that "Andrew" now has moved in or is subletting. The phonebook is not going to turn up "Andrew" at Wisbeach St either. The phone is in his friend's name. Alternatively, "Andrew" is just using his friends place occasionally. He is not the leasee. "Andrew" is not named on the electricity bills either. Couldn't be bothered changing anything over.
- "Andrew" is not on the electoral roll. He never bothered to fill in the form. Sounds familiar!
- I wonder if he drives unlicensed too! Couldn't be bothered with all that stuff. Might be a bit far fetched. We know he can drive. He has a Holden Berlina.

I am actually thinking Andrew is dyslexic. He has trouble with forms and formal legal stuff.

Poor Andrew, so inept! It’s a wonder he was able to raise a child. Lucky he has Mel and his mother.

If I were Andrew (the biological father), and I didn't take Tegan, I would never come forward.

Not that I didn't care about a woman convicted for my biological daughter's murder... But for my own preservation, it would be my word against hers. Unless I had a solid alibi for 12-14 Sep 1996, I might be pinned for Tegan's murder too.

You would have to find me, and drag me off.

There is proof that he exists. That is all I want to say at this point. I am waiting to see how this plays out. I do respectfully disagree.

Geez...I’d like to see a link for that!

Yes! Dyslexics can function otherwise though. He has problems with filling in forms.

Wow and Keli just handed Tegan over to him in the foyer.

Keli didn't know him that well. It was a brief affair. There wasn't heaps of intellectual discussions with this guy over books. They were otherwise busy. She wasn't to know.

True. But if you were the biological father and never had Tegan, and had a rock solid alibi, you could have come forward and been a very valuable witness for the Prosecution.

Couldn't his mother or Mel help him with that?

Snap Bo! :D Silly me, you said the same thing.

You'd think so wouldn't you!

Or he might have simply lost the form.

I am doubtful about the mother story. Not sure who "Mel" is either at this stage.

Next this guy’s going to be deaf, dumb and blind

Haha. No I am pretty sure he can see. He saw Keli in the pub didn't he. I am pretty sure he is not deaf or dumb either.

BTW Dyslexia is common.
