I believe (as you said) the accuracy of the last point is gps accuracy.

Which means that the trail that everyone seems to be following could be on the other side of the headland for all we know. Around Clarke's Beach, for example. I don't think we can select certain gps points as accurate and other gps point(s) as inaccurate. Especially as no-one has been able to mimic Theo's apparent gps points other than 'parts' or 'a part' of the points.

That 60 degree angle covers pretty much all of the headland, and does not (it seems) cover Tallow Beach. Not from diagrams we have seen, anyway.

Which is why I have said several times, the gps and ping data does not line up.

The data tracking would be reliable and the tower ping more broadly encompassing an area. Stick with the tracking.

I thought the family said in one of the earlier pods that they had recreated the route taken based on the gps data they’d gained. They also did the route at night at the same time (in the last pod?).
Now they are recreating the route with the same make and model phone aren’t they? I think this is all known, and they have or will discuss it publicly. IIRC

I dont believe they have discussed the R17 and what they were doing regarding the testing. I may h

I have to agree with SA here.

I was told the accuracy was about 3m on the google gps location in open areas however I have read other reports of much higher figures up to 15m.

So what we are seeing in his walk to Tennyson, around the slab area we have to allow for about 3m accuracy radius.

His data appears he was on the slab however 5m off the slab is that spot I found the little area where all the drug related stuff and drink cans etc were.

I haven't put my data through from my visit yet to see where it shows me but im going head back again and recreate that part of his trip in the next couple weeks including connections to any wifi hotpots to see what my data and trip does.

Although a few meters accuracy doesn't seem like much, when you visit the locations and see things close to where his data showed him it can open up new thoughts and possibilities such as what i found on the weekend.

Found the below (American article) that was interesting on GPS

Can you access the data in the same way they did using Google Takeout? I have questions regarding what maps show and what data is saved.

Don’t you all think his family would’ve discussed, dissected and debated this already? They are sure the data tracking is right, so it’d be good to check their knowledge with this as it could save the bother of guessing & disputing a given.

I agree Rocket it be great if we did have updated information as to what family have checked and what they consider accurate however any information they might have is being kept quiet so we are left to assume and create our own tests or base our own scenarios here.

We have some brilliant sluethers here who I am sure if we / they had more details could come up with some accurate possibilities and help solve what happened to Theo.

absolutely but info has been blocked from the start. Im sure this would of been solved months ago if details would have divulged alot sooner on in the piece.

Police are investigating after human remains were found near a life saving club on the New South Wales north coast.

A human leg was discovered 1km south of the North Beach Life Saving Club at Mylestom, outside Coffs Harbour
hmmmm I wonder

“The remains appeared to be two fully intact leg bones with a surfer or diver's bootie on the end.”

Argh.

Every single time something like this happens, we are all going to wonder if it is Theo.

Some family somewhere is going to get some very sad news. But at least they will know for sure that their loved one won't be home and, in time, they will start adjusting and settling their minds and life.

So true. Just did a search for any divers missing around Coffs but nothing showed up.
