Police want to speak with residents of Chambers Flat or Muchow Roads with CCTV cameras, or anyone who travelled those roads at the time with a GoPro camera.
Superintendent Hutchinson said police also wanted residents living in the vicinity of the high school to search their properties for the backpack or uniform.

Oh dear.
He said they believed some of Tia’s schoolmates had not been forthcoming with police because they worried they would get into trouble.
“We ... have a little bit of a concern that maybe some of the students know a little bit more than what they’re telling us and they’re a little bit concerned that what they tell us might get them into trouble for some minor reason.
Superintendent Hutchinson said although police had received footage from Chambers Flat Rd, no one had come forward with footage from Muchow Rd.
“All I can say is that we have a number of lines of inquiry we’re working through,” he said.

Tiahleigh Palmer’s classmates ‘won’t be in trouble’ if they tell police about possible ‘wagging’ plans

Tiahleigh Palmer may have planned to wag school when she disappeared on October 30, a week before her body was found by a Gold Coast River.

Today, investigators urged the 12-year-old’s Marsden State High schoolmates not to be afraid of sharing information with police.

“There’s also some information there that may suggest she was thinking of ‘wagging’ it that day,” Detective Superintendent David Hutchinson said

“We believe that some of the children will have some information about that and we’re encouraging them to come forward with that.

“We’re telling them they’re not going to be in any trouble just because they know that this was going to occur.”

Not looking good is it? I hope Tiah wasn't lured to her death by someone using social media.

Will be back later. Just marking my spot.

Are these trucks parked off the road near the bridge on the satellite Image? I wonder if it's a regular truck stop and if there may be any truck drivers who may have spotted something unusual ? Or smaller trucks which may utilise this road may have dashcam?

Hi They are not trucks, there is a boat ramp there, they are utes with trailers for boats. There is a water plant on this road but other then that is just a cut through for people who live in coomera to go to Jacobs well and vice versa. Not much out that way at all

Hi all I have been with you guys for years, all the way back to the Kenmore roundabout. I live 5 minutes from the bridge she was found. I think that she was either abducted by a random or someone she knew and then moved to to Creek after she was deceased. The river is tiny, more like a creek, the area is used as a boat ramp to access the waters around Stradbroke Island/ The Broadwater. Jacobs well has lots of farmland and there is not much around the area. There is a Water plant just past the creek. Pimpama and Yawalapah Road is exploding with development at the moment, new houses, schools and Shops. I believe who ever left her there was not familiar on the area, if you come off the M1 at Ormeau you will go through heaps of sugar cane fields and it goes on for about 15kms, where she was found is relatively close to the new developments and is popular at weekends with people fishing. I think its someone from Logan way thinking that she was in the sticks and wouldn't be found. Just my opinion RIP beautiful girl

A few days ago the Surfers Paradise police busted a few on-line baddies for targeting teenage girls. I wondered at the time if something like this happened to TP. Although I don't think it was random as too much seems to point to TP having a plan for that day. The closed FB account, if true, puzzles me. Police will know what time it was closed no doubt. Before school? During school hours? Evening? I think she planned to meet someone, but I get puzzled about her asking a friends mother if she could stay that Friday night. When did TP ask her? That morning, the day before??? All I can say is that I hope TP is now at peace.

As we've seen from previous cases, police usually have a lot more than they let on about at this stage. Let's hope.

:juggle: so sad about Tia. She looks so much like my niece who is only seven years older than her and is studying teaching, hoping to reach out to 10 to 14 year olds.
I hope the funeral tomorrow is beautiful.

I'm local so if anyone wants any questions answered about the area I'm happy to answer. Everywhere I've driven the last few days I've looked out for the backpack or clues. Hard when you don't really know what to look for though.

Regarding the area, the shops a PP mentioned are across the road. There is nothing there of interest to kids but there used to be a small takeaway shop there. The Marsden High kids used to go there all the time. It seems to have closed down now so the most likely shopping area would be Marsden itself which is not down Muchow Rd. If they want footage from that road it suggests to me she didn't go in the direction of the shops. That's weird because down Muchow Rd there are only houses. Walking that way she could only be heading to a residence or maybe a bus stop??

I just checked and there is a bus that stop at 819am in Muchow Rd. It terminates at Browns Plains from which you could change onto a bus bound for the city (and other areas).

That would still mean at least 3 buses, so surely police could check her go card? It is near impossible to travel on a bus without one now, unless paying cash which would be prohibitive for a 12 yo.

I was reading poetry this evening and was reminded of the photos of Tiah published recently in MSM. It was written by Eliza Lee Follen (b. 1787 d. 1860) and is titled 'On the Death of a Beautiful Girl':

The young, the lovely pass away,
Ne'er to be seen again,
Earth's fairest flowers too soon decay;
Its blasted trees remain.

Full oft we see the brightest thing,
That lifts its head on high,
Smile in the light, then droop its wing,
And fade away, and die.

And kindly is the lesson given,
Then dry the falling tear;
They came to raise our hearts to heaven,
They go to call us there.

My feeling is that she met someone online and went to meet him. She probably closed her fb so no one will know, maybe the plan with which they lured her was to run away with him. I think that is also why the other kids don't want to talk but some probably knew her plans. just my speculation

"Wagging" school? Must be another Australian piece of slang I've never heard of :) We would say, skipping school, or bunking off, or skiving.

Nah, we say wagging. And for those of us old enough to remember, we also used to say jigging school.
