sure, but the better thing would be to hear what the police prosecutor says ...and I believe the police prosecutor will rip holes in that story big enough to drive a horse float thru.... . the police saying that is because that's what Trent has told them..... you don't seriously think the police are telling you their case against the Thorburns in the courier mail, do you?

That's pure speculation rather than sticking to the facts we know ans what's been quoted and no, I don't think the police are telling you their case against the Thorburns in the courier mail, but I do believe a father could kill to protect a son, unfortunately people have killed for a lot less.

protect his son from what?

protect his son from what?

you reckon this father, ( lets stick to this particular event) .. killed this child to protect his son?..... is that your premise?

and here's Julene, that Friday morning..... just an ordinary foster mother, doing the usual thing.... sending out texts to people ....

''Hi its Tia's foster mum Julene. Tia has run from school again first thing this morning if you hear anything or if anyone has seen her today could you let me know,' the text read, adding in a further message that police had 'no leads' on her whereabouts.

clever..note the use of running from school ... not running from home, ....

I agree. They're not as dumb as they look.

What about the car sale? Any sluethers found information on when it was listed?

It seems all the more premeditated if it was listed around the time Tiah was feeling like she was in 'big, big trouble'.

She may have been too afraid to disclose her true fears, too. She may have been made to feel at fault.

Would an autopsy be able to clearly detect a foetus in a decomposed body?

Articles suggest Trent admitted he thought Tiah was pregnant (with his or Ricks input, who knows yet) but there's also indications the abuse was inflicted over the whole course of her 10 months under their roof. If she was pregnant how far along was she? I imagine she was frightened.

RIP Tiahleigh. None of this is your fault.

I am not obligated to believe one word that comes out of Trent, Rick , Julene or Josh's mouth. all 4 are currently under perjury charges, are the kind of people willing, nay , anxious to sign off on a totally false and misleading statement in the matter of a missing child. This alone negates any reason to take on board their idea of the story they have so clearly cooked up, from the very beginning. And at least one of them is a murderer, possibly two of them are.

so whatever they are telling the police now is irrelevant in so far as it completes any sort of truth and /or fact. The story so far is self serving, mainly for Trents benefit, how his father reluctantly murdered a child to save him, Trent ,from the consequences of his lechery and uncontrollable urges, but he is such a cutie, it wont matter, the judge will hold his hand all the way .... ..

the QLd police, like any police force, will say with a straight face in answer to the press what their lawyer has been told by his clients. and allowed to be conveyed to the police. . The police are not going to say what their case is going to be or what it will consist of until the trial takes place.

'She asked me if she could stay with me and I said I'm sorry I couldn't let you stay with me because I really don't know you for a start,' the aunt of Tiahleigh's classmate told 7 News.

'She did tell me that if she does go home that she was going to get in big trouble and that's why she didn't want to go home,' the unidentified woman added.

The woman then contacted the Thorburns, and received a text from Julene advising she would come and collect her from the nearby home.

'Thank you and if she is worried about it tell her that just Julene is coming and she isn't in trouble,' the text message obtained by 7 News read.

BBM: UBM: Why would Julene need to let Tialeigh know that is was just her that was going to pick up Tialeigh? Would this indicate that Tialeigh was in fact worried about the males in that family?

For nearly 11 months, detectives investigating the murder of 12-year-old Brisbane schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer told one story of her disappearance publicly.Privately, they’ve suspected, for at least six of those months, that none of it was true.
As they worked, squirrel-like, behind the scenes, gathering the evidence that would prove what they now allege, they continued to tell it.
It gave them the time they needed to ensure their case was solid. It had to be.
Because who ever would have thought the salt-of-the-earth man who opened his idyllic rural home to a disadvantaged 12-year-old girl would be charged with murder?
And who ever would have thought the rest of his family — the seemingly good-hearted foster mother and her two adult sons, who also welcomed Tiahleigh into their lives — would be charged with allegedly covering up the heinous crime?

and how useless are school chaplains!!..... .. what a failure this chaplain in particular was.. this is his job, his only job and the taxpayer pays a lot of money for him to do it satisfactorily.. how could he miss this kids distress?>. her situation should have been his priority every damn day.

She may not have said. She may have been frightened.

I believe Chaplains survive on private donations mostly these days, which is something to worry about given current track record of ministries of faith in Australia.

“If someone is hiding her, you are seriously not any good for her and should be ashamed of yourself. Do you understand what this does to the people that love her and care for her? WE, the police and her mum have been at this all day. If you are with her, tell her enough is enough. Just come home,” Rick wrote.

This "big big trouble" has me curious. Maybe she confided in Julene and had it turned on her as "her fault" - maybe they made threats that she would be sent away, not to her mother's but some other big bad place for causing all this 'big big trouble.'
I think the family were gaslighting her so she was too afraid to tell anyone what was going on. But if a little girl is telling people she's going to get into big big trouble, it's because an adult has told her so. And we don't know much about school or her other relationships, but we do know that a sexual "relationship" is a huge burden for a young child. She wouldn't be the first child to be told that she would be the one in trouble.
I remember reading the biography of Cheryl Crane (daughter of Lana Turner) who was raped and abused by her movie star stepfather for a few years. He told her that girls who "told" were sent to Juvenile Hall, so she kept silent until a school friend told her that it was illegal for men to have sex with little girls.
You can see in the media, with the references to a "relationship" that people are willing to believe this was consensual, so there is already an element of believing Tia held some responsibility. If she did have a crush on this boy at some point, it would be easy for Julene to tell her it was her fault and she would be in "big big trouble" if she told people and made things difficult for poor T.

Big trouble could mean so many things.... first up, pregnancy was Trent's worry.. there is no source that it was Tia's worry. Her worry, as told to her friend was that Trent kept groping her and didn't leave her alone, she was left sometimes in the house alone with him. .... it is possible that she had a bigger worry than Trent groping her, and that would be Rick. .. maybe that was too horrible to even mention, the ramifications of that would be enormous to Tia.. .

sad, desperate , terrified.. I want Qld family services to be lined up and ...

Totally agree Trooper.

I am seriously having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that as he says this Tiah is lying out on the riverbank. How can he? Still struggling with it ...seriously......how can people be so evil?

astonishing.. yet .. so perfectly in character as the 'outraged ' foster father... he must have asked himself, now.. what would a real foster father in this situation do. .. I wonder if he was smiling when he wrote this.. It is entirely possible that he basked for some time, an hour, even in the totally fabricated aura of indignant righteous victimhood.. .....

Thank you New Zealand MSM

"..Tiahleigh told a classmate she was scared to go home and begged to stay with her family six days before she was allegedly killed by her foster father.

The 12-year-old girl went home with a friend from Marsden State School on Friday October 23 and asked the girl's aunt if she could stay with them as she was worried she would get into 'big trouble' if she returned to her foster home, 7 News reported.
Six days later, police will allege Tiahleigh was murdered by Thorburn, 56, in a bid to protect his son Trent Thorburn, 19, who had been sexually assaulting the young girl during the 10 months she was in the family's care.

The woman Tiahleigh sought refuge from said she contacted the Office of Child Safety in Brown Plains when Tiahleigh insisted she did not want to go home, but was told it was common and to encourage the schoolgirl to return.

'She asked me if she could stay with me and I said I'm sorry I couldn't let you stay with me because I really don't know you for a start,' the aunt of Tiahleigh's classmate told 7 News.

'She did tell me that if she does go home that she was going to get in big trouble and that's why she didn't want to go home,' the unidentified woman added."

This poor woman, she did her due diligence, she really had Tia's best interests at heart. As desperate as Tia must have felt I am sure she knew that she cared.

if you take this apart a bit, he is telling Tia off. this message, is to the dead Tia.. ... he can actually step aside from what has been done, and throw himself into the part of the cranky foster father with a rebellious foster child, some of the things he forgot to say when he was murdering her.. ( suffocation takes quite some time, it isn't quick) ... ....

True, we're talking 12 months ago now.

Funding is not renewed next year.

I do wonder if Chaplain was part of the problem. Imagine admitting you were involved with an older man from a 'nice, normal family' You're 12 years old. You're in foster care and your 'nice, normal foster mum' says you're a liar.

But, for all we know the Chaplain may have been caring and reported his concerns. Seems several red flags fell on deaf ears, like the response Tiahs friends Aunty recieved when she called Child Safety. Arrugh!!! It's to be expected!? A child seeks help from a stranger because she's too scared to go home? Who was the person that said that?! Shame, shame, shame 😡

Thanks Francesca. Yes - Gaslighting. It was on the tip of my tongue but I couldn't place the word. Indeed, I suspect SERIOUS gaslighting.

Oh that's actually scary, Trooper. Maybe that's why he's not talking, he even incriminates himself in twitter updates.

Definately a special kind of evil, enthralled.
