OMG - sorry OT but a reminder how we are forced to keep an eye on our kids & grandkids cause of the b@stards out there, and females predators sometimes too :(

"The seven-year-old girl was shopping with her mum at Westfield North Lakes, north of Brisbane, when she was allegedly taken by a 26-year-old man for more than an hour"

"After an hour and a half, the man allegedly returned the girl to the shopping centre.

Police allege, in the hour she was missing, the man drove her to bushland at nearby Pumicestone Passage where he sexually assaulted her."

Oh geez that is sick

Was he reported, or was it only when the police saw the footage that it was noticed.

Sounds like he was in a panic driving back to Innisfail on the 21st Oct too as he was reported for driving erratically in Cairns. If it was him, I bet the murder wasn’t premeditated and he freaked right out afterwards - leaving evidence, clothes, and footprints everywhere. Gets home and bolts without telling work or family.

Gosh, that's terrible and can happen so easily! Bushland near Pumicestone Passage would either be Ningi wetlands or the bushland that belongs to Sandstone Point Hotel, I guess. Unbelievable, but I'm glad that at least he returned the child and that they got him.
yes that's true he returned her & they got him... phew! But his actions :( I hope an eye is kept on him & his despicable future, once he gets out, if he cannot be rehabilitated :mad:

we don't know. it sounds like perhaps he was reported & also caught on cctv... BB said this morn there was talk of FB about an erratic driver. I imagine they (who saw him) would report it? ...hope so!

He could have been drunk or high too.

edited version from the australian dec 10

The morning after Toyahs murder started just like any other in the home of Indian nurse Rajwinder Singh.

He ate breakfast with his children, ran errands for about half an hour and drove his father to the Sikh temple in the far north Queensland

Then he packed a bag and disappeared, leading to a desperate international search by his family and police. “I’m going, I’ll be back tomorrow lunchtime,” Mr Singh told his wife before leaving, his brother-in-law Harpreet Singh said

“His father went to find him in India. He has been going to every home. He thinks he might be in a Sikh temple somewhere,” Harpreet Singh said.

Raj Singh was home by about 8.30pm on the night of the murder, Harpreet Singh said.

He liked to hang around beaches to unwind.
his family say he did not know toyah

With more information it’s only getting worse. What’s wrong with people???

“The 26-year-old Morayfield man was revealed as a father of twins when he faced the Pine Rivers magistrates court this morning charged with one count each of deprivation of liberty, taking a child for immoral purposes and indecent treatment of a child under 12 years.”

Several persons of interest in Toyah Cordingley murder: police

Several media outlets have named Innisfail-based nurse Rajwinder Singh, as a person of interest.

But Acting Sergeant Russell Parker from Cairns Police has called for calm, saying there were "several persons of interest" and media scrutiny of Mr Singh's family was unhelpful.

Acting Sergeant Parker said the Australian Federal Police and the Indian Government were not involved in the investigation, despite media reports.

He said police are now looking into who leaked the information about Mr Singh being a person of interest.

"There is a reason why we don't release information about persons of interest," he said.

"We're unsure of how those media organisations got hold of that information.

"We don't know where it has come from and that's certainly the subject of another inquiry."

What the heck is going on ?

It's a bit hard to tell isn't it?

So they aren't trying to bring RS back to Australia - and I don't know what to say to that.:confused::confused:

Is it possible that he’s still their key suspect but they’d like to play it down to avoid too much interest? Apparently, many people in India have a quite negative picture of the average Australian (there was a documentary about this a year or so ago). They seem to think of Australia as a very racist country where everyone wants nothing more than to kill an innocent Indian guy. If they imagine the hate and judgement towards a suspected rapist and murderer who coincidentally is an Indian natIonal as well, the public might be more reluctant help finding him and it might also be harder to get him to extradited to Australia, if it comes to that. OMO

Good 'ol MSM; a class act (not) making life difficult for the investigators in Toyah's case. Do they want justice for Toyah's family or not? Sometimes one has to wonder.

Yes, police certainly not happy with msm. He is only a POI, innocent until proven guilty. But his family are being invaded. Justice for Toyah and her family, but it needs to occur in the correct way.

I suspect it’s still Singh, but they haven’t put all the pieces tightly together yet OR need to speak with him first (probably some policing protocols needing to be completed before you can arrest - idk). Imagine the lawsuit that could be made by the Singh family for defamation & harassment if this allegation and focus didn’t hold water. Channel 7 would know that they’d be in big trouble, and I strongly doubt they’d release the info on Singh without a lot of consideration & checking as otherwise they could be in big legal trouble. Interestingly the police aren’t seriously shutting down the info. They’ve said to not speculate as the investigation is still active, but aren’t wiping the story off the table or taking the media to task in any full on way. My moneys on a police insider informant.

Yes, I think that may play a big part ... particularly with the harrassment toward his family here.

I think, too, that it is necessary to not look as if the police are only looking at one person of interest. That they are doing a very thorough investigation and are looking at everyone (not that they aren't doing that, it is all about public and defence counsel perspective). Until a person is charged.

I just can't see, nor have I ever seen, Police make a false statement in regards to something like this. Saying that AFP and the Indian Government are NOT involved, is not something that they would say if it wasn't true IMO.

It is something that MSM would/could give a false report about though IMO

I'm also not fond of this statement:

"There's a danger that with this being reported that we have solved this and I can assure everyone that no, we haven't solved it, in fact we are a long, long way from the end of this investigation," he said.

Perhaps that needed to be said because of the last statement in the article?
The police need more .... more about him (and/or other persons).
They may not be close enough to making an arrest, with any evidence they do have.

He urged people to continue to contact CrimeStoppers with any information.

Idk, yet wonder if it’s because something else is already going down with Singh that we don’t know, or they’re leaving it to his father to bring him back. It just appears (from this armchair) that there’s enough suspicious info on Singh to warrant an interview with him, if only to exclude him from the case. The reports allege that he was at the beach car park (in the area given the mobile pings), seen driving erratically later on, possibly had scratches & bite marks, hadn’t been home all day, family said he was in cairns, family said he liked to switch off by going to the beaches, got home at 8.30pm that night, booked a flight that night, told his family he was going away for a day but instead flew to India, has had no contact with family or his kids since. All alleged but enough there to surely require a police interview. So if the Feds aren’t involved, maybe something else is currently going down ie they’re giving him time to return of his own volition.
