The dog being tied up seems very insightful. Why would she tie the dog up? To go swimming? Maybe her attacker threatened her into doing so and she complied?

No one knows who tied the dog up. Why would she tie the dog up so closely that it could not sit? Why would she tie the dog up if she wanted to go swimming? Dogs like swimming too.

As I said before .. I am unsure she was actually seen at the beach alive ...
As for dog being tied up .. I would suggest someone who wants people to think she’s at the beach .. he doesn’t want the dog to run away - either on the road or just away ?? It’s been talked about a lot here .. and is puzzling

If he had his own car he would to return to where that is in cairns area ?? Or else to home - either north or back to cairns.
1. Walks - too exposed on busy highway and long way .
2. Hitchhiking- someone would see
3. Public transport - only bus from palm cove leaves at about 4.30pm - again very visible , very unlikely
4. Someone picks him up - always possible people hid info
5. His car is nearby within walking distance or Ellis beach and he just walks along beach at it
6. I am completely barking up wrong tree

Or perhaps just a theory, parked in the turnoff space to the shooting range or Girls Academy. IMO Unlikely for anyone to intentionally park that far from the beach but if that were the case it would suggest a preemptive MO.

I’d think she was not the one to tie up the dog, IMO because she was it’s ‘mum’ and wouldn’t want to harm it - if she did it would be an ‘owner/gentler’ tie up. I can’t imagine tying up my dog knowing it couldn’t really move.

Perhaps the dog was tied up to stop it following the killer back to the car park or following the killer; period.
If the dog was was tied up to cause confusion it worked big time.

My belief is Toyah was murdered where her body was found or very close to that spot.
It is very difficult to move human bodies judging by the crime shows I've watched.

I am not sure that a dog would follow a stranger to it.

I agree, I am also of the opinion she was murdered close to where she was found. I can't imagine someone who just brutally murdered a young women would be to concerned about the dog.

I could however understand her tying up her dog like it was if she was panicked or in a rush.

That’s what I would think .., keeping all options ..

why would they search the creek and lake placid - would have to be someone saw something - ie someone throwing something in the water or someone who has been questioned has told them they were in the area or they did indeed throw something in the water or they observed Toyah throwing

I wonder what 'items' of interest they found - could be anything - weapon (unknown if one was used), items of clothing, technology. Hoping that like most cases, police know more than they are letting on and are just waiting for the final piece of the puzzle to confirm their suspicions.

As for the dog being tied up, I think there are three possibilities: Toyah (potentially under duress), the perp, or a member of the public (people in my suburb will commonly do this if there is a dog wondering around and they tie it up to save it running on the road if it has no I.D).

A person unknown to Toyah I would think would have a very difficult time tying up a dog, I wonder if you can get DNA from under dog claws!

Depending on the tides, surely there must have been foot prints and dog prints in the sand. They should be able to tell quite a story as to whether there were any drag marks etc

IMO Toyah did not tie the dog like that. I believe the perp did, I mentioned a little way back that tying it so tightly may have constricted the poor dogs throat meaning the dogs ability to whimper, bark, cry were impaired.

One thing that has bothered me about this murder, is the killer took her clothes with him. Was this as a trophy or was there another reason. Maybe someone wanted it to look like a sexual homicide and staged the scene.

Unfortunately these murders can be totally random and sometimes all it takes is a meeting of evil and innocent.
This evil turd was hell-bent of causing the maximum damage to whoever he came across.

There’s so many with mental & drug related problems now these assaults upon women are becoming more prevalent.

It will be interesting to see if Toyah’s murderer was another one out on parole.

Not saying he murdered Toyah but saying they are out there.

The father of the baby who washed ashore on Gold Coast previously tried to attack a Gold Coast City Council officer who was warning him not to camp in the sand dunes with his family.

He had hurled abuse at the officer and threatened him with a bottle and a stick, the court heard.
