Whereas while Allison Baden-Clay and Karen Ristevski were missing the police actually informed locals not to worry.

Has there been any warnings to the public to be aware of your surroundings and not to attend quiet places alone?

im not sure if there have been any warnings from police, the only msm mention i could find was from the local mayor saying theres a killer out there or something.
true, in the cases above there was no warning to the public, but there wasnt a warning in william tyrrells case either and police have stated both families have been cleared?
my feeling is someone who knew of toyah killed her, maybe someone shes met through her work or day to day who knew her routine and thought theyd take a chance, the fact they mistreated her body so badly seems personal to me

Yes, it is odd that police arent issuing warnings. That area would come under the Port Douglas local government area which has a very progressive female mayor. Marco went to Mossman High School which is the main administrative town in the area. Port Douglas is a tourist town.

Also being a Sunday, Port Douglas has a weekly market from early morning until about 2pm. A lot of tourists visit, as well as a lot of people do day trips from Cairns. The drive Cairns to Port Douglas is about 1 hour. The highway would have been quite busy about 2-4 in the afternoon.

I wonder why you would drive 40kms to a particular beach? Was this beach special in some way?

If i need to go to my nearest official off leash beach it's around 30km away. I do live a bit inland (10km from the beaches anyway). But sometimes i choose to take my dog to more secluded beaches which are further still. I'm thinking perhaps she was stopping on her way to PD? (this beach is around half way). It's interesting that police want cctv footage going north to Port Douglas, but not south back to cairns - in the timeframe of interest - seems they think (or know) she was heading north?

I find this odd too. I have never seen A "go fund me" page that asks for help specifically with rent, & household/pet costs... and that's all. Normally medical, repatriation, funeral costs. Whoever posted it might be a nice friend but it's an unusual request. JMOO. But fair enough... if he is unable to work & function

Doesn't the boyfriend work at Ellis beach? They don't ask for cctv or another type of footage going south from there - back to cairns?? If there was reason to suspect it was opportunistic, they'd want footage going south to cairns too, wouldn't they?

I guess it depends on what they are looking for. She would have been travelling north from Cairns after being at Rusty Markets. Maybe they simply want to tag her (somewhere I read that they knew she had got as far as Kewarra Beach). And see what other cars might have been travelling the same way. Maybe they are looking for a particular car to pin someone in that area at the time. But it does seem odd that they are only interested in north-bound cars. So that would rule out the 2 nervous blokes who had the flat tire - they were reported to be heading south.

I don't know that Marco still worked at Ellis Beach because the Go Fund me page says he hasn't been able to work for some time. But he could have easily stopped in there. It is a good place for a quick drink.

I was awake at ridiculous o’clock this morning with the thoughts going round in my head over her: 1) if someone was expecting her ‘home’ at a certain time, or by a certain time, and she didn’t appear, then past that time, you’d be pretty damn anxious... did they call around her friends/family/her phone to see where she was? There would be call records to reflect that surely... 2) if you KNEW where she’d been going to go to, wouldn’t you go and look? Surely you’d see her car?? And if you DID go looking, you’d think you’d take at least a bit of a walk around and call out. Wouldn’t the dog bark or whine in acknowledgment? I thought I read that they were found not THAT far from her car? Just thoughts...

Edited to say: not pointing the finger at anyone, just I can’t understand why people weren’t out looking a lot earlier than 7:30 the next morning

I don't think that's the police appealing for information. The journalist most probably has no other news on the investigation so included the last message police put out, which I don't think was even recent.

I agree that we would be seeing and hearing more from investigators if they didn't have anyone in their sights. They've been very quiet. A week after Daniel Morcombe was missing they staged a re-enactment of his final moments. Here, virtually nothing after those initial appeals.

They were ruled out - they were nervous & agitated because the were intentionally following a vehicle, then got a flat tyre, and then panicked they'd lose their way - cause they'd lost sight of the people they were following. My thinking too. Apparently they were worried when she didn't return home by 7pm. But something must of put their minds at ease enough for them to not drive the 40ish km that night and leave it till the next morning (maybe thinking she must of stayed at a friends and her phone was flat?).

yes, i agree, if you were anxious enough to call police, wouldnt you just take a quick drive to the beach to see if she was there, theyd see her car still in the park, and if they headed from her car along the beach calling out the dog would have barked or whined, not pointing the finger either, thats just what id do as wouldnt be able to sleep if i was that worried

I agree, I find it strange. I wonder who called in the missing person at that time? Perhaps they did not have the knowledge regarding the beach until speaking with her father or a particular friend/family member and then that is when the search occurred the next day as it was confirmed that is where she was.

They..? (who called in?) called in so quickly, this could be explained by the fact this was very out of character for her which was enough to spark the call, or they had concerns for her safety for some reason which lead to it being so sudden.

I know when I was being harassed by a man at work and I did not return a call due to being on shift, my father drove to my workplace and sat out the front until he saw me he was that worried, bless him.

Did BF have a vehicle, maybe Toyah would drop him off at the restaurant & then pick him up. .

Whereas G B-Clay & B Ristevski went to ground so I hope this isn’t similar.

Good point. But are they asking for northbound dashcam only? I read dashcam travelling north to Port Douglas, and also south to Ellis beach & beyond to Wangetti beach....
