so i wonder if bf was there with his dog at spring creek falls, or if it was lost and wandering by itself, i hope hes found it by now
its 22 mins approx from wangetti beach to spring creek falls

It would be unusual for the dog to walk here from PD or wangetti? it must have been transported - somehow?

So he’s posting that late at night about his dog, but nothing about the missing girlfriend? I’m a bit confused now as to whether they were together or not. Could it be someone has something against him?

Agree very odd, perhaps he did not know she was missing at that point?

Yes he does seem different but definitely not unusual for North QLD at all.
The rumours I heard about Toyah's body (and they are only rumours) suggest not only were they very upset but also very sick and twisted.
The poster Breaking News thought Toyah may have had a new boyfriend, it would be interesting to find out.
Definitely could be a stalker.
Hi SW. It is only local kids 18-24yo's who initially said (gossip only) that she had a new boyfriend for the last 3 weeks of her life. Nowhere has it been reported in msm, so I can only assume that it is 'kids talk'. Same bunch of kids say another male has said he murdered Toyah, but they don't believe this kid. He is a very bad egg. He dated my son's ex for awhile and pulled a knife on her father and he has been cruel to dogs. He supposedly fled the Cairns area just after Toyah's murder. Police are always looking for him for one thing or another. However this is all gossip (not about my son's ex). These kids have known each other through school years in the Cairns and Smithfield areas. Not all these kids are angels, so who knows what and why they talk about.

Hello breaking, so glad you posted again. This is one of the reasons why I am a sleuth, I know for a fact that MSM is not to be relied on. They are only told what little the police want them to know. Through the use of social media, the MSM just makes up the rest which is why things just don;t make sense sometimes.

So in saying that, I believe the local talk you are mentioning about Toyah possibly having a new boyfriend. Especially because he dated your son's ex. The kids all knowing each other for a long time adds to what I am familiar with around here, everyone is only a few degrees separated it seems.

But wow. Do you think the police know about the new boyfriend? The fact that Toyah's mum and dad went together (although they seem to have been seperated for a very long time) to find her early in the morning tells me very loud alarm bells were ringing for them.

Thanks again for the info, very interesting.

Thankyou - my brain just goes flat out sometimes! I have just found a post that the boyfriend posted at 10:55pm on Sunday 21st October on facebook. He is asking if anyone has seen his missing dog Jersey, last seen walking up the track to Spring Creek Falls at 6pm on the Sunday.
Map with location marked with red balloon:

Jersey is not the dog that was with Toyah, that dog's name is Indie.

Edit - too many maps!

Seems co-incidental. Perhaps giving himself an alibi? As in why you didn’t answer your phone during a period when others may have been calling. ‘ oh I was out looking for my dog. I forgot my phone’
Wonder if said dog was found?

I agree. The majority of my clients are in this age group, although at times they be be prone to exaggeration, when I ferret on down to the main point of a story it is generally always based on fact. So I may be bias here, but in my opinion there is a sprinkle of truth in their statements.

Where is this forum? Wouldn’t mind reading the comments.

Have a look on Cairns Post facebook page - a bit of scrolling to do but it's stamped November 13th 7:06 pm.

Edit to add: not a forum just facebook comments. The article above has the comment about Toyah's car.

The first written comment to the post was made on Monday at 7.28am (coincidentally just before Toyah was found - I am not suggesting anything just pointing out time coincidence).
Someone else posted the dog was found Tuesday morning. There is a photo that I am presuming is the boyfriend carrying the dog out of the Spring Creek Falls area.

It seems Spring Creek Falls and Wangetti were often frequented by boyfriend and I assume Toyah. He probably did transport dog there. I read somewhere Toyah was killed at 2.30 pm - will scout around for that.

how do they know exactly what time she was killed, i know they can tell from the body but usually its not an exact time?

I may have made a mistake, I read the following:
"The 24-year-old pharmacy worker was murdered while walking her dog on Wangetti Beach, 40km north of Cairns, on Sunday afternoon between 2pm and 2.30pm."
New photo of Toyah Cordingley released as police hunt killer

Other reports say she arrived at Wangetti between 2 pm and 2.30pm.
I believe medical forensics can pinpoint time of death in a lot of cases due to composition of body etc...

Hey guys, take care with FB and social media as Websleuths only work and rely on main stream media. FB can lead to unfounded rumours.
We don't want time out or the closing of the thread.

Only speculating but if she arrived at the beach at say 2.30 pm and then strolled down the beach a fair way, and was then killed on her way back, after an unknown length of time with her attacker it could be
at least a couple of hours. Police seem to have a quite large time frame they are working within.

‘Police are also appealing for dash cam footage from drivers who travelled between Smithfield and Port Douglas on Sunday using the Captain Cook Highway between 12pm and 7pm’

Yes, so true TGY. We aren't allowed to trawl FB. Whatever we think about msm, that is what we have to work with. That is the reason I hesitate on quoting local kids. It is just gossip, hearsay. And certainly not to be relied upon. And I don't want to be sent to the naughty corner

I still trust MSM, it’s them who get sued for printing falsehoods, not FB. They know more than they are allowed to share and all goes quiet before the storm. Remember these journos have beer with the cops and cops drink with judges and all follow requests in the interest of solving the crime.
An example is when Borce Ristevski was asked by a rogue jorno if he’d killed his wife which then made ristevski go to ground. IMO the other journos, like the cops knew he’d killed Karen but it took the one arrogant mistake by the rogue journo and Ristevki refused to speak again publicly or to police. Guilt was written on his face that day.
IMO that prolonged the arrest.

I understand and respect the rules of this board but it would be of value to society if people understood how both MSM and Social Media works in this day and age when it comes to information and the control of information.

Where do MSM and get information from? Social media where the users are the commodity. Some users don't take advantage of privacy settings and the information one might be looking for is right there under your nose.

Where does MSM get its photos from? They lift them off social media - especially profile pics which remain public and MSM does not need your permission. Where do you think the pics of Toyah have come from?

Where does MSM get the names of family and friends to harass? You guessed it - social media. Plenty of Toyah's family and friends appealing for MSM to leave them alone and stop contacting them through social media.

Where does MSM have its own presence online? On a website and on social media of course.

Where do the police trawl for clues and information? Would you believe it is social media?

Where do the police keep a presence online? A website and social media - where else?

Social media has also provided a man in Texas with an alibi... "After his parents posted $150,000 bail, a selfie that his mother uploaded to Facebook with timestamp and location was the key piece of evidence to solidify his alibi."
Texas man, 21, facing 99 years for attacking his ex-girlfriend is CLEARED by a selfie | Daily Mail Online

In regard to Toyah, why have the police media unit and MSM not published warnings to the public about a violent killer on the loose as they should do?
Because they know who it is.

Best regards
SW

That is very true SW and I know a lot of Websleuthers know extra information during cases - stuff they have gleaned from social media- but alas can not post it without a MSM link.

That’s not to say MSM isn’t mostly woeful regurgitating and syndication and them simply posting an old article with a new headline and one or two new paragraphs of information.
One can only keep looking & hope to get a good, well researched article with new information about the case.

And then - it will be paywalled.
