I don’t know what to feel about that - whether it’s hopeful or not!? Looking forward to everyone’s thoughts. I do think the ‘report anything’ to the 1800 makes me think they DO have something and are piecing things together. Gawd I have everything crossed that there’s some good news imminent.

I think we are in for a long ride here. Never ever have I wanted to be proved wrong more than this.

Detective Inspector Smith said there were three main areas where police were now seeking information"

Ye
I'm interested to know why Detectives from Thursday Island are involved

Ok, for those who might not know the area. Caravonica has a large human made water park where you can be towed by a boat and jump off ramps etc. Would be easy enough for divers to search. Lake Placid adjoins Caravonica. Lake Placid is a part of the Barron River which flows from the Tablelands. It is a beautiful quite large lake where water rafters end up. People used to swim in the Lake, but the Lake continues to flow out the mouth of the Barron River into the sea near Machans Beach/airport. Crocodiles have been known to have been in there. Might be more difficult for divers to search as it is quite large with flowing water.

Whatever, sounds like some items were found. So well done divers. The divers would have come up from Brisbane because I am not sure if Cairns would have had divers on hand. This is how things happen. OT the Gold Coast does not have its own bomb squad, so for every drug lab, it is an hour wait for the bomb squad to come from Brisbane, then it is a 6 hour job to dismantle a lab.

Again, they call in help from everywhere. She said that. Help has been called in from everywhere. More detectives = more help in going through all the information. Don't read anything more into it other than that. So common for major incidents.

I think this is going to be a random sadistic pervert and hope against hope he is caught soon. Very concerning they are asking women who have noticed inappropriate behaviour over the past two years to come forward, and some already have.

Thursday island is a very remote and small community- I would think they would they couldn’t spare any ?

i agree, wanting info from women from the past two years over a wide area, unless its a strategy to make the local killer feel safe?

this 4-5.30 time window, could this be when the killer was driving back from wangetti and disposing of items?
how do police pinpoint a time of someones movements if they dont have a suspect?
