Albany Police are conducting a land and marine search operation in the vicinity of Bald Head, in the Torndirrup National Park.
22-year-old woman Victoria McCloy and 20-year-old man Geoffrey Bignell travelled from Northam to Bald Head on Friday morning, 22 November 2019. Ms McCloy made contact with family that evening to advise them they had arrived safely.
The pair were intending on spending the weekend camping and fishing. They were due to arrive back in Northam on Sunday afternoon or evening, however they failed to return. This is out of character, and they have since missed other commitments.
A concerned family member travelled to Bald Head and located the vehicle the missing pair had driven there, a black 2-door Holden Barina, however was unable to locate either of the missing pair.
Police were alerted to the situation this morning, Tuesday 25 November 2019, and a search operation was commenced.
Ms McCloy is described as being fair skinned, 170-175cm tall, of slim build with green/blue eyes and long dark brown hair.
Mr Bignell is described as fair skinned, 170-175cm tall, of slim build, with short sandy hair (in braids) and large ear piercings.
Resource deployed as part of the search operation includes:
- Police
- DFES Volunteer Marine Rescue Service (search area includes cliffs and rocky coastline).
- SES Search Teams
- Fixed Wing Aerial Spotter Plane
- Albany Surf Life Saving Jetski Rescue Unit
- DBCA Rangers
Police would like to speak to anyone who saw Ms McCloy and Mr Bignall, or their Holden Barina in the Bald Head carpark area between Friday night and today.
Anyone with information is asked to call Police on 131 444.
