Tostee spent 6 months in jail, need I say more. But if you do me the honours of providing the link for your post, I will do same.

apropos of that, didn't Gabe have a bit of a court case with his landlord over burning part of his previous tenancy? I believe he did. set the kitchen on fire, and ran out of there without using the fire extinguisher, as I recall.

Which was my point exactly, when the poster said he could have just as easily restrained her all the way to, and out the hallway door instead.
Lol, except I mean his overuse of force was anything but peaceful. Nice try though.

This isn't about Tostee, is it?

:gaah::waitasec::maddening::eek:
It is indeed.

He already saw signs of what could be considered strange behaviour. He asks her to stop beating him up. She gets very angry about her phone. He even comments that she has had too much to drink. She herself calls herself a freak at least twice.

Then things are calm again. She goes to the window, and he says something about not jumping. It absolutely sounds like a fishing expedition... Starting up a conversation about suicide or self harm, in hopes she will divulge some personal information or history. People do it all the time, especially on first dates, or second dates, or third dates, both women and men.

You interpret that maybe he was trying to maybe push her over the edge, or you can interpret it as trying to get to know the person he was dealing with, without tactlessly coming outright and asking if she's crazy. It's fair game both ways.

I know that GT's DUI is irrelevent, kind of anyway, to this case, but it goes to show what type of person he is. He gets in a vehicle drunk and drives, and that shows his disregard for his passengers lives or the lives of other innocent people driving on the road. He could care less, and that says a lot about his disregard for the safety of other people's lives. He is always just an accident waiting to happen, and if he is not pulled up in his tracks he will keep going IMO until he is stopped in his tracks. If he is acquitted i believe it will embolden him further. His prior run ins with the police show us what kind of character he is. All IMO.

Reasoning with him? Do you mean hysterically begging "just let me go home?"

Claiming her phone was on the balcony -- how does this elicit information about her mental history?

Saying she was lucky he hadn't thrown her off the balcony (yet) -- same question?

I think the crown made a huge mistake in not contesting this (although the language, from what I can tell from the tweets, was far more guarded than all that). From the tape, it seems to me that she raised the "metal object" in self-defense. Without any corroborating evidence, though, I guess the crown thought it wasn't worth debating the point since his reaction was unlawful even if she did attack him unprovoked.
There is a quip about not jumping, and something about men in coats coming to take her away. It's not funny, so what kind of response is he looking for other than confirmation of some sort that she has some experience in these things, or no experience in these things.

Tostee obviously has a few equally pleasant-natured pals that are taking up for him across the net, probably the same one or 2 using VPN's to make multiple accounts, to judge by their uncommonly similar writing/typing habits and posting styles. Maybe paid for their time, because it's pretty much a job, there's a LOT of internet to cover. How effective they've been idk.. I notice they've managed to sway a few against Tostee, just by their assiness.

*dramatic music* WHEN DAMAGE CONTROL GOES WRONG
Seaglass, Lily Mae and ......

I know of a female poster who has relentlessly dogged all the Tostee forums across the net too, for the sole purpose of vilifying him. Sounds like stalking to me! So perhaps thats why the Toaster has to pay shills to do his bidding!

It DOES come down to that often. that is why they usually have fairly even gender splits in a jury, especially this one. Exactly because of the issue that CleverKnot cleverly highlighted.

Every comment I make here is an opinion. Even if I state it as a fact, and it is a known fact, you can still regard it as an opinion. I'm good like that.

Sorry FD, I disagree. I think the lawyers WANT to believe having equal numbers of men and women on a jury will equate to gender generalisations, but anyone who believes this is insulting the jury panellists intelligence. Legal people have NEVER been on a jury, only jurors know what really happens.

great point. I wonder if they media would be interested in his big footy posts, including the 'I'd massacre everyone if I'm put away' one?
Good idea, why not forward them to the media? Along with your proof that those posters are Tostee?

This jury will be spending it's time on analysing and measuring each and every utterance by Tostee , line by line, word by word, ( because the tape is the ONLY and TOTALITY of the defence presented) as to what HE did or DID NOT DO that resulted in HER death,, on HIS property.

That is what is taking the time, which is a good thing .

Good to know he IS paying 'em. God knows, disgraced law students could do with the $

So you wouldn't scream for someone to call the police the second you were on that balcony? You'd try the rock climbing option first?

Which is more commonsensical?

That's assuming you believe she had her feet firmly planted on the balcony floor, which I dont. I say she hung on to that railing for about 11seconds or so.
