He so wanted her on that balcony.
2.21am - He phones Mick Purcell from his handset.
2.23am - GT pulls on his jeans.
2.24am - he calls Warreina's phone. Why??
He then puts Warreina's phone in his jeans pocket and leaves the building.
2.47am - He again tries to phone Mick Purcell. Did he connect???
2.49am - He again calls Warreina's phone.
3.23am - He finally rings his father after ordering Pizza.
3.29am - He tells his father he has her phone in his pocket.
On both occasions his father suggested he ring Bill Potts (lawyer). He did not say I have already tried to ring Mick Purcell. (lawyer)
3.49am and 3.51am - He again rings Warreina's phone even though his father had advised him not too.

One hour and 2 mins before he rang his father. That's a long time IMO.

Just wondering if he didn't realise that Warreina's fall had been witnessed. He was going to use the excuse I had to get out she was drunk and going off, I left her on the balcony. I tried to phone her and ask if she wanted Pizza.
When I went back to the building I saw all the police and panicked.

Maybe Tostee transferred the contents of her phone to his and somehow deleted it off her phone in the process?

I wonder what phone Rrie had and what the data was she was so concerned about. Maybe GT tried to access her phone and got her PIN code wrong too many times and the phone deleted its data to prevent theft.

The Sony Xperia can be mounted onto PC with a mini-USB cable. Maybe both phones got mounted and GT accidentally used "move" instead of "copy".

Was the phone siezed from Dad Tostee's car actually Warriena's phone?

GT was sending calls to her phone, quite a bit during the night, even as he sat in the dad's car after she was dead. Was he transferring all the files to HER phone, and deleting them off HIS?

Then Dad's stashed her phone in the driver's side... instead of handing it over to police.

I thought he tried calling her phone to see if everything had been his imagination. You know he claims he has those blackouts when drinking too much. (Side note: I don't like him calling them blackouts. It's just alcohol-induced amnesia. I think of blackouts as when a fighter pilot is pulling too many positive Gs eg going up fast and blood is pulled away from the pilot's brain, almost inducing fainting)

Although I don't think he had her phone...
Probably the last thing he'd want to do is transfer files over the mobile network, let alone have her phone on while his is nearby - the mobile network towers can use that information to work out where people are and it has been used in court cases very effectively.
If I was a criminal, I'd get the SIM card out or battery out ASAP to make sure the mobile towers can't track me. (It's what they do in Breaking Bad too.) I'd go home or a WiFi Internet cafe, get the SIM card out, turn it back on, transfer it over WiFi. If I was super-paranoid, I'd just wipe the phone and burn it unless she had valuable data. Every network capable device has something unique called a MAC address and I'd be paranoid my WiFi at home recorded that.

She says that not long after the recording starts. Sounds like things had already started to turn nasty at that point and GT turned the recording on because he thought it would be funny to mess with her head. The rest of the transcripts reads like he is provoking her and mocking her. Maybe Warriena was into rough sex? Or maybe she was acting out of frustration with him? I think she really didn't like him but was scared of him, and she expresses herself with play fighting and statements like "You are dead and I hate you". He offers to walk her home, it sounds like she is going to leave, but he hides her phone so she can't leave, and that starts another argument. It seems like he keeps manipulating the situation to make her angry and then tries to calm her down. From reading his bb posts, it's evident he is sensitive to rejection. But he sets up situations so that is exactly what happens!! Probably my imagination running wild but I get Jeffrey Dahmer vibe from him.

It just clicked. She had him tied up at some stage and took embarrasing photos of him. Once he regains control he gets her phone and wipes it clean. This in turn would of prompted alot of aggression/her being upset from Warriena towards Tostee.

Great point re Jeffery Dahmer!! A lot of similarities there actually.....both intelligent but in low-functioning jobs, both 'good looking' (according to society's standards, not mine), both loners, social issues, history of excessive alchohol use.........

And at the core of Dahmer's killing was his desperate fear of rejection and the desire that people not leave him. He completely flipped out and killed them when they said they wanted to leave.

He started recording BEFORE she got physical, but just before they were about to get intimate...and continued pouring her drinks even though she was already 'pyscho drunk'. Why?

We know Tostee likes domineering women...but we know that he likes dominating and belittling women. I am wondering if he has a thing about unconcious women - he def likes being in control, he did tie her up at one stage. I am wondering if he was trying to knock her out to have sex with her while she was unconscious (and the tapes were made as dual gaslighting defence/trophy)- but she had an adverse reaction and got violent instead of drowsy. He freaks out as it's obviously going against script.

If the cops can't do a tox test on her they should test out that vodka. Obviously this is just a theory but it kind of fits while he kept feeding her this home-made vodka thought she was clearly highly inebriated.

I am actually going to retract the whole BDSM theory, even it turns out that Rrie liked it a little bit.. I am actually, now that far more of the transcript has been released, a bit doubtful of exactly how much, or whether at all, she was really trying to play those games that night.

Msm (damn them) cobbled together bits of text to emphasis the 'weird sex' angle. But when read all together more fully, it doesn't actually read to me like that at all.

-- There's no real mention of it by anyone but Tostee.. and the "I'll be your sex slave" is put in context -- him saying whatever he can to make her stay, a part of his wheedling, not the sex talk at all.

-- Warriena may have been using Muy Thai moves on him, I believe partly to show him she was NOT some weak little woman he could do anything to... maybe a highly drunken defense mechanism for a woman starting to feel threatened.

-- Tostee is *clearly* manipulating both Warriena, and his own statements on the recording to make it seem Rrie is a violent thieving person "where's my money" -- and I think playing up the level of Rrie's violence for greater effect -- "ow, ow" -- as well as a bit of a pervert (though HE has HER tied up....AND has control of her 'lifeline' to the police and her family and friends - her phone... )

-- Tostee hears her say she's drunk once - plies her with more drinks. Hears her refuse his vodka -- wheedles her into staying and urges her to drink MORE of it.. eggs her on by stealing her phone, possibly wiping things off it... (maybe in case SHE has recorded things too...things we are not hearing on HIS recording) upsets her in general and THEN blames her for being aggro and attacks her physically and verbally in a way I can only describe as rapey and sick.

BBM That idea - of him having a thing for unconscious women who he can wield total power over - makes alot of sense to me in light of what we know about him.

That's the very reason why Dahmer tried to make his male partners into unconscious 'zombies' by injecting chemicals into their brains and why so many serial killers are into necrophilia (creepy but true). They get off on having the ultimate control over another human. And that human can't reject or control them. It's emotionally safe for the perp and makes them feel powerful.

The whole issue of power is key here, I think.

Re the timing of the recording.. I don't think he was just all about recording sex.. he'd already *had* sex with her in the hours before the recording starts. A few seconds after he hits 'record', he demands sex (in a way that's very domineering....) and continues to record while he plays her like a fiddle, in turns riling and calming her until he himself is worked up and seizes utter control by choking and abusing her, 'tackling' her as he said.

I believe this recording was NOT because he was concerned about Warriena causing his trouble (why not just let her leave) it was about wholly humiliating and dominating her, and having it on record for his own enjoyment, and likely that of his d-head mates as well.

So he hit "record" once the 'enjoyable' part of sex was over and it was time for him to rip the wings off some flies. IMO

I keep wondering why Warriena didn't call out for help from the balcony. If the situation was dire enough to attempt a dangerous escape, wouldn't it also warrant a "Somebody help me!!!" ?? (especially given there are other units in close proximity). I worry the defence will use this. Also puzzled by Tostee Snr's reaction. Understand it's natural to want to protect your child, but far out... in such circumstances, I'd like to think the 'average person' would be more concerned about loss of life.
