Anti psychotics for what has he had a psychotic episode?

I know Seroquel, an antipsychotic, can be taken to help sleep. My ex's doctor prescribed it to him 'off label' for that purpose.

Is Xanax (alprazolom) classified as an anti-psychotic?? I thought it was prescribed for anxiety. :dunno:

No sorry, I looked it up and it isn't. Will go back and fix my original post, thanks :)

The Severe Dangers Of
Mixing Xanax And Alcohol

http://www.rense.com/general95/xanax.html

"This is as true with Xanax® XR as with standard alprazolam medication. Even with the smallest amount of medication and a small drink, the side effects of Xanax® are magnified and can result in a great deal of emotional and physical turmoil."

"Rather than easing a mild panic attack, the introduction of alcohol may trigger a more intensive attack that requires a trip to a hospital emergency room. In like manner, people who tend to become irritable when taking alprazolam may find that every little thing going on around them causes unreasonable responses of anger that are almost impossible to control."

Xanax®, a brand name for the drug alprazolam, is a medication that is used for several different purposes. While primarily an anti-anxiety drug, Xanax® can also be used in the treatment of agoraphobia, as a supporting medication to an antidepressant, and even as an aid in smoking cessation. As with many drugs, mixing Xanax® and alcohol is never a good idea, since the combination can produce results that range from mildly uncomfortable to fatal.

It is important to understand that both Xanax® and alcohol are classified as central nervous system or CNS depressants. That is, both substances act on some part of brain function to slow down a given reaction. While not working on the same sets of neurotransmitters, both Xanax® and alcohol do tend to produce similar effects in terms of heart rate and breathing.

This means that mixing Xanax® and alcohol can lead to increasing the effect of each substance significantly. In most cases, the cumulative effect is far from pleasant. For someone who is using Xanax® as a way to deal with panic attacks, adding alcohol to the mix will mean that while the individual does become less agitated, the effect goes beyond merely settling jangled nerves. As a result, the individual finds it hard to focus and is sometimes rendered incommunicative.

Other Xanax® side effects can also be intensified when alcohol is consumed. In fact, the effect may be the opposite of what is experienced when taking alprazolam and refraining from alcohol consumption. Rather than easing a mild panic attack, the introduction of alcohol may trigger a more intensive attack that requires a trip to a hospital emergency room. In like manner, people who tend to become irritable when taking alprazolam may find that every little thing going on around them causes unreasonable responses of anger that are almost impossible to control.

In more severe situations, the combination of Xanax® and alcohol may increase the sedative qualities to a level that is not only undesirable, but also life threatening. Depending on the amount consumed of each substance, the heart rate can be lowered to a dangerous level. At the same time, involuntary breathing functions can be seriously impaired. If the individual does not receive medical treatment immediately, there is a very good chance that death will ensue.

Regardless of the dosage and type of Xanax® that is used, alcohol should be avoided as long as the patient is taking the drug on even the most casual basis. This is as true with Xanax® XR as with standard alprazolam medication. Even with the smallest amount of medication and a small drink, theside effects of Xanax® are magnified and can result in a great deal of emotional and physical turmoil.

Along with avoiding a mix of Xanax® and alcohol, anyone using alprazolam would do well to avoid consuming any product containing grapefruit juice. The components of the juice can have an extremely negative effect on the function of the drug, which may result in the need to seek emergency medical care.

Hi everyone! I've been lurkedy lurkypants on Warriena's thread, finally finished it. This is an interesting case and lots of great posts. I also see a few of my Aussie friends!:happydance:

Regarding Suthrnqt's post above me, I did notice GT was a glutton for punishment on those threads. But it never seemed to phase him. Did anyone else get the impression that he asked for a lot of advice about things that he should have been able to figure out for himself? IMO I don't think he had a grasp on what would be considered socially normal, so he went to his BB forum for a soundboard and took their suggestions. He certainly had no shame and he would post some pretty embarrassing stuff.

I saw a post talking about his bowel movements and wiping habits so I quickly scrolled past it with my eyes closed. Bloke likes to document everything, I was afraid there'd be pictures :puke:

My theory: I'll bet when Warriena's tox report comes back it has ambien in it. GT has asked about Ambien and a few other drugs on his BB forum and there was speculation here that he was trying to make a knock out cocktail. Ambien mixed with bitter vodka moonshine will take you outside of your mind and you can behave totally out of character.

You can have violent reactions. (I don't believe that Warriena'sbehavior that night was typical of her). She probably was in such an agitated and out of her mind state that she didn't even remember or care that the balcony was 14 stories up.

You've heard of airline flights in which a passenger goes nuts and storms the cockpit, fights with flight attendants, crazy stuff? Several of those incidents have been Ambien related.

Here are few examples: In the first one the passenger was mixing vodka and ambien.

http://www.fbi.gov/denver/press-rel...-man-arrested-after-disrupting-jetblue-flight

Meyer is charged with two counts of simple assault by offensive touching of two passengers on Jet Blue flight 358....
Because of Meyer’s assaultive behavior and his failure to obey flight attendants, the captain of JetBlue flight 358 diverted the plane to Denver International Airport. The plane was then met by Denver Police officers. The defendant was placed into federal custody and transported to the Denver City Jail.

Court records indicate that Meyer smelled of alcohol and was loud when he boarded the flight. He stroked one female passenger’s arm and grabbed her waist and tried to grab her hand. She was seated next to him but across the aisle. Meyer also grabbed the head of another female passenger who was seated in front of him. Flight attendants did not serve Meyer alcohol because he was visibly drunk from vodka he brought on board. Law enforcement found out later Meyer also took an Ambien sleeping pill.

This is a very interesting article about it, worth a read if you get a chance.

i keep thinking about the comments gt made to his father.
I forced her onto the balcony
i did not force her over the balcony.

Sounds consistent with the door unlocking (not necessarily opening)
and possible sounds of glass door being hit were recorded at 2.20am.

Is it possible they were still inside the unit at this time.

The following minute or so rrie repeats numerous times "no, no" and pleads for gt to just let her go home.

The sound of the sliding door shutting is heard on the recording.

is it possible that someone could actually pick a person up and place them on the rail around the balcony and walk away and slid the door closed?

Would this sound like thudding and scuffling
.

yes & yes!

Hey guys...been through the transcript again and here are some more thoughts:

- he starts recording after they have had sex and after she has indicated she is going to leave. why start recording when someone is leaving?
- he is trying everything to make her stay in his apartment big time. Offering her drinks. Telling her to relax. Offering to introduce her to his parents. He then tries reverse psychology - 'i'll walk you home' - before quickly reverting back to saying he'll look after her the morning if she stays.
- during this whole time he is repeatedly telling her to stay nice, not hurt him otherwise he will have to hurt her
- at some point she is tied up at this stage
- when she does decide to leave and demands her stuff, he doesn't help her look for it - he distracts her from her phone (the phone might be dead, it's on the balcony). When she accuses him of stealing her phone, he counter-accuses her of stealing money and hurting him and when she goes to leave, he asks her to sit down and discuss the violence. Then he reverts back to nice guy tactics and tries to get her to stay by cooking food and giving her drinks etcHe clearly is guilting her to stay and also potentially keeping her from finding her phone...presumably as ransom to keep her there or there's something on the phone
- their conversation is littered with references to death (her dog, his pa). At the beginning she states (clearly before he started recording) that he said he wanted to kill her - later he counter-accuses again that she tried to kill him. He is continually referring to death via the balcony, her jumping from the balcony and trying to get her back out on the balcony (her phone is on the balcony, referencing the photos of them on the balcony). You don't just have these conversations all of a sudden...they've clearly been having conversations about death before the recording. It's morbid and strange.
- at 1.51 he whispers god help me to the phone....to me that's really telling. It's like a cheeky wink at the audience - oh look at the scrape I've gotten into with this mad chick - even though he CLEARLY is trying to get her to stay when she has tried to leave several times. why does he want her to stay so badly, when they've already had sex and he thinks she's rough
- he accuses her of violence, there is a struggle and she accuses him of hurting her vagina. Something happens which makes him flip his lid
- he loses the plot, threatens to kick her out...but doesn't. Every time he threatens to kick her out he quickly comes back with a reason for her to stay. He needs a DNA sample for god knows what, she's been a bad girl and can't leave.

I believe he drugged her trying to have some weirdo unconscious sex with her...he started tying her up and that is when she first really tried to leave...he stole her phone (I think it was in his pocket the whole time) as a ransom to keep her there. I think he tried to then soothe her but got rough, she retaliated back in defence and he didn't like that one bit. That's when he loses it and nearly strangles her to show her he is more dominant.

Not sure what happened on the balcony but he is obsessed with it. Remember from the forum he said he was moving out soon because he couldn't afford the rent...he didn't have much longer living in that apartment with that balcony.

If he had drugged her, he would want to keep an eye on her till she sobers/comes to the next dayI think, rather than say letting her leave and she passes out in the lift or in the lobby, police and ambos are called, its traced back to him as having drugged and raped her. Just more thoughts....

For the life of me, I can't understand why a relatively sober guy, which GT was, would shut Warriena out on the balcony? Did he want her to bang on the doors, beg to be let in. He knew that if he let her leave from the front door, he wouldn't see her again.

My brain is turning to mush. :sigh:

RSBM

I'm thinking it's like a sicko person slowly torturing a frog BEFORE they pull off it's legs one by one. Watching every reaction.

So, in reference to Warriena saying in the transcript:

"Myjambu did not say anything" (which was said about the time she was looking for her phone)

A friend just pointed out to me that she could well be referring to a phone app called JAM-BU:

JAM-BU, a FREE mobile application that offers convenience in your hands! JAM-BU allows you to READ articles, CREATE and SHARE personalized QR Codes and SHOP online anywhere, anytime!

1:39am: Female 'I am gone. I will be out of your hair, see you later. I am going.' Then produces the phone, saying 'see you later', to which the male replies: 'You are such a drama queen'.

1.52am: Female calls male a 'social demon' and male asks if she got the photos he sent, 'our balcony photos'. He says: 'You are so much more drunker than me. I need to catch up

Rrie had her phone back? If so this means he must have taken it again later?

By pure coincidence I have been reading a book about Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence which goes into some detail about the use of Rohypnol to loosen inhibitions for S&M play. It is a fairly well known date rape drug. Tostee asked Rrie if she remembered what she had been doing half an hour ago, almost like checking her expected responses, as if he were following an expected gameplay.

You know, Tostee's so full of self-disclosure on the bb forums...he names every drug he's taken, talks toileting habits and says he has OCD and ADD........

Seems to me if he really was diagnosed on the autism spectrum he would have mentioned it. Anything for attention - and such poor boundaries.

Makes me think - again - that it's not true.
