I don't believe that Tostee just dragged Warriena out onto the balcony, left her there and closed the door. IMO he lifted her up onto the rail or ledge and then closed the door. There were numerous screams of "no, no, no" from Warriena and almost immediately the sound of her fading scream as she fell.
Seriously, if Warriena was dragged out onto the balcony by Tostee and he closed the door immediately, the ensuing scream heard seconds later indicates that she was already in a prone position to fall. It doesn't fit with her having enough time to even think about what she's going to do next. She would have been disoriented by alcohol and whatever else may have been in her system, along with the WTF is going on factor. Her immediate reaction would have been to either scream for help, or scream abuse at Tostee and bash on the door to be let back in. That didn't happen. She went over the balcony within seconds of being dragged, or carried out onto the balcony, according to the transcript of the recording published in MSM.
Hi Makara, nice to see you.
What gives me the sickest feeling here is wondering if all those many mentions of going over the balcony were engineered toward the moment when he dragged her out there..... and it would be in her mind, after all those comments. "off the balcony" said just a few mins before...So I am thinking her abject terror "No, no no" might have begun when she realised where he was dragging her to.. and why.
I really do not think all those comments "don't jump", "lucky I haven't chucked you off", "I'd jump..That's it, boom" were simply incidental.
They'd already had sex, and though Tostee spoke of going out for drinks to a club, he did nothing further to encourage it, instead he plied Warriena with his nasty moonshine and played with her head ( as per his history with other women) for the purpose of humiliating her.
I FULLY believe that sex on the balcony has grown dull for him, it wasn't a thrill anymore and his fantasies had taken a dark turn some time before. I think this was the culmination of it. Perhaps her death was not part of it, but her utter terror in that moment certainly was.
I also think he'll get manslaughter. Sadly. I hope he is sentenced for the maximum for it, though.
Does he have to be *charged* with manslaughter, or how does that work, if the jury thinks it's not murder but he is responsible?
I think it's murder. I think he fervently hoped she *would* go over. He'd been building it up in his head -and hers - for several hours..
It's to his vast benefit that I'm way down here in Vic, no chance of being on that jury.
