speaking of forensics....

Neighbours recall seeing them drinking on the balcony, before hearing an argument and a woman’s screams.

His apartment is still a crime scene. Forensic investigators have pored over every last detail, while detectives have seized hard drives, CDs and a camera from inside. On Wednesday, a cherry picker was brought in to collect swabs from the outside of the balcony.

Bond University criminologist Terry Goldsworthy, a former 28-year veteran of the Queensland Police Service

With no apparent eyewitness of Warriena’s fall and the usefulness of security footage unclear, Dr Goldsworthy said forensic testing on the balcony would be key. Investigators would then need to build a circumstantial case.

“Are [Warriena’s] fingerprints over the railings, and is there any DNA saying she touched the balcony going over? Is it possible for someone of her stature to jump over?” he said.

Gentleman?
he threatened to knock Rrie out before choking her!!

2.15am - Male: "I thought you were kidding and I have taken enough. This is f---ing ********...You are lucky I haven't chucked you off my balcony you god damn psycho little *****."

2.17am - Male: "You're a god damn psycho. I am going to let you go. I am going to walk you out of this apartment just the way you are. You are not going to collect any of your belongings. You are just going to walk out and I am going to slam the door on you, do you understand? If you try and pull anything, I'll knock you out...do you understand?"

2.18-2.19am - First choking sounds are heard. Breathing slows. Male: "Let it go". Sounds of a metallic object dropping is heard.

Think_Harder_Please : Another perspective is always welcome.. So I would like your thoughts on this... GT didn't need to put Warriena out on the balcony... If he could carry her to the balcony he could have carried her to the front door.. so why didn't he do that?

Yes, I'd love some suggestions about this.

In my experience, most modern apartments have a system where the outside will be locked but the inside is always unlocked so you can't get in without the key (or unsnibbing it from the inside) but you can always get out. It's a safety mechanism. Avalon Apartments looks modern enough. If that's the case then it would have been just as easy to put Rrie in the hallway.

Regardless, I struggle to believe that Tostee would have had trouble unlocking a door and holding Rrie at the same time given the size and strength difference.

I would have thought going out the front door to the hallway was a better option than the balcony anyway. It's actually OUT of the apartment and, if Tostee was concerned about Rrie doing any damage, there's also less risk.

YES! He'd had enough of her.. she would have left if he took her to the front door of the apartment. But the balcony... Did he plan to just listen to her go "psycho" on the balcony only to have to deal with her again?

And it was quite chilly by then, not the best time to be on a balcony.

I wonder what Tostee would do if one of his mates was seriously hurt/died late at night while doing something dangerous while drinking. Just leave him and go off to the pizza shop, to avoid any implication on him and calm his anxiety and his late-night munchies?

just so you know, I ve only downloaded the 3 hr recording, and have yet to listen to it.

Dont forget GT is pretty p1ssed. He may not have seen the moment she fell - My belief is that that prospect so frightened him, he didnt want to face it, by not even going to the balcony edge., so perhaps he thought/hoped she may have made it to the next floor and wanted t o double check and allay his fears by getting a response from her on her own phone.(it was obviously set to silent, so whilst it was in his pocket he didnt realise he was calling it?) .

As i said, have yet to listen to recording in full.

he can ring his Lawyer but not 000?

2.21am (approx) - The occupant of the apartment below Mr Tostee's hears a female repeatedly shouting "no, no, no" and then sees "two legs dangling down".

"In a matter of seconds I saw the person fall from the balcony above mine," her witness statement says.

2.21am - A call is placed from Gable Tostee's phone to his lawyer, Michael Purcell. The call doesn't connect.

2.23pm - A triple-0 call is placed by the woman in the apartment below.

2.25am - Police arrive at the scene. At the same time the fob key to Mr Tostee's apartment is activated.

2.28am - CCTV cameras capture a male, believed to be Mr Tostee, approach the front entrance of the apartment. He walks back to the elevator and rides to the basement.

Let's face it, every action Tostee took that night ... from the moment he assaulted Warriena, to the moment he dragged her out to the balcony, to the moment he snuck down to the basement and fled, to the moment he hid in a car with his father ... was completely unacceptable.

It is Party Rules 101.

You take on a duty for the safety of all your guests, so make sure items that can injure your guests are set aside.

It is always a crime for anyone to threaten to hurt, touch in a sexual way without consent or force another person to take part in any sexual activity against their will.

If there is a medical emergency, you should call an ambulance on 000.

If you have guests who are planning to drink there are a number of options:
organise a taxi
offer them a couch to sleep on
organise a designated driver

I cannot find anything that says you should neglect to call 000, run away, make sure your hunger and anxiety is satiated, hide in a car from police, and call your lawyer, if someone has 'fallen' from your balcony.

GT has a habit of running away. January 12th will be interesting.

According to court documents presented at his first bail application, and the charges heard by Magistrate Kerry Magee in October, Tostee is alleged to have driven his car in a police chase at 3am on July 27 this year while having a blood alcohol level of .203 - five times over the limit.

He is also charged with assaulting or obstructing police in an alleged incident at around 2.35am on January 27 this year in which a 'heavily intoxicated' Tostee is alleged to have kicked out at a sergeant and told a constable to 'f*** off c***'.

Tostee was also charged with breaching bail conditions that had been imposed after the January incident.

Excellent point, perfectly sums up the problems with Tostee's reaction.

RSBM

Which reminds me of something else - I'm assuming police will get a statement from the person who served him that night. I will be very interested to find out their assessment of his state.

I have wondered if he went to that pizza place because a friend of his was working there that night.

be interesting what time he rang his mate....

Detectives have also confiscated the mobile phone of Mr Tostee’s close friend Tony *Ongart. It is understood he was contacted by Mr Tostee after the fatal fall from the *Avalon apartments.

But while Mr Tostee prepares to spend his fourth night behind bars, his friend Tony Ongart has taken to Facebook to support his mate.

“No matter how much hate from the media our mate gets we always stick by our mates til the end, including Gable Tostee,” he wrote.

“There is no physical evidence that accuses him of being guilty.

“So go hate as much as you want we don’t care, it won’t change our decision.

“In all these years he stuck by us, and has never been a violence person ... so we will back him up the whole way.”

The post received a mixed response from Mr Ongart’s Facebook friends, some sharing the same mentality.

For all we know, there could be running text commentary between him ^^ and Tostee during the night .. you know, like the kinds of demeaning things he used to post on the bb forum. Seems like everyone is always texting everyone these days, even when they are with other people.

Police will allege he hid behind a pillar as police surrounded Ms Wright’s body and can be seen pacing backwards and forwards. He then allegedly got back into the lift, rode to the basement and left the building.
CCTV cameras allegedly recorded him carrying what appeared to be a phone. Police will allege they later found three mobile phones in a car in the Avalon basement.
http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/...n-the-gold-coast/story-fnihsrf2-1227026801082

... And there's the false alarm about the gas leak, I hope that it was traceable.

I can see GT wanting Wrie's phone to check her outgoing messages to adjust his story. It is my assumption that she was messaging someone around the time she said "chicky" on the recording.

Wow, he had three phones stashed. I thought the recording was found on a phone in his Dad's car, but not according to this story:
Audio recordings of her last moments, believed to have been extracted by police technical experts from mobile phones found in a car in the building's basement were the breakthrough detectives needed to arrest Tostee on Friday after a week-long investigation.

The Sony phone data — which is yet to be forensically examined — also showed two calls being made to Ms Wright’s phone.

An audio recording from the same device, which runs for more than three hours, appears to follow a panicked Tostee as he phones and then is picked up by his *father Gray Tostee at Circle on Cavil
