It will be great when this goes to trial and some of these inconsistencies in reporting are hopefully clarified.

Yes totally agree Poss.

In this link it says the same thing, both from the last bail hearing. :gaah:

Justice Mullins said audio from the night - which was recorded on Mr Tostee's phone - would be the critical piece of evidence for a jury to determine whether he was guilty.

Yep, but I'm with Schu on the smartband suggestion - I work with people younger than Tostee <modsnip> and it was marketed as an extension of his model of phone. It is an accessory. It would appeal to his demographic and his mates. What would they talk about? Weights? Chicks? Their BMI? I know one person who has one to wake him up because he does the overnight baby feeds. He probably tracks bubs milestones on it, I haven't asked. Even if we are wrong, it just makes sense to me. And the watch idea had been thrown around. Who wants to carry their phone around their apartment anyway when they are entertaining? And the fitness bands are everywhere. They were placed on the pester part of the counter at Officeworks when I was there today. I think I am more convinced than Schu that it is a smartband lol

Do smart phones / smart watches / bands have enough battery to continually record for 3.5+ hours??

Please help me find where he says he attaches the recorder to his belt or pants and something else on the other side when he goes out. Perfect position to do a video.
Some of these recorders are really tiny. If he had the recorder, say clipped to his belt or jeans pocket then that rustling sound would be that cotton shirt rubbing over the mic when he was running or moving around.
Could it be that when he removed his pants was when the mic was further away.
Just kickin' around ideas, this has got me stumped.

Gold Coast balcony fall: Gable Tostee 'obsessed with recording everything'

And the 28-year-old and Queensland Police Superintendent David Hutchinson have rejected News Corp newspaper reports that investigators had seized a "homemade 🤬🤬🤬🤬 collection'' from the unit where the New Zealand tourist died.

“I have motion detection cameras in my house, call recording on my phone, and sometimes even leave my phone on record in my pocket for nights out in case I forget what happens.”
“I also have mini spy cameras which I've used for fun when I've gone out and had a drunken night or something...Didn't work all that great since all you could see were peoples' hips, so gave up on that in the end.”

Actually we are going over old territory, we've researched all this earlier.

Recently turned my old tablet into an automatic dashcam that syncs its videos with my phone whenever I get in the car. Here's a random video of me driving around at dusk. If I go past anything interesting I'll post it up.

That's what the three devices were in his car.?
I read that old phones are easily set up anywhere as cameras for surveillance.

My phone sits in a holder attached to my windscreen and can be used as a dashcam if i should see an idiot.

Did he want to erase something from Warriena's phone but couldn't because it went flat so he pinched it?
Maybe he wanted an iPhone to add to his trophy collection.

I'm sure the police have her phone. They know GT had it. They have never called out to three public to find it.

RSBM: I guess he could have always turned it towards himself.

Staff in the aviation industry were prescribed Stillnox as it was the preferred sleeping tablet (I am going back a few years). It was prescribed because you were literally asleep within 10 minutes without feeling drowsy the next morning. I can remember it was a Sunday night and had a few social drinks at home - I had a very early start the next morning so I took a Stillnox hoping that I would get a solid few hours sleep. Apparently (and I have absolutely no memory of this at all). I fell down several stairs made my way into kitchen naked - opened the pantry cupboard ate half a sponge cake using my hands. My partner spoke to me and asked what was wrong (apparently I slurred a few words) and carried me upstairs and tucked me into bed. The next morning I had several bruises with not one memory AT ALL. My thoughts only - I really don't think that she had taken Stillnox - I believe she was paraletic and Tostee used her as if she was some sick kind of experiment.

Mr Power said Tostee may have plied his victim with dangerous homemade alcohol before she died.

“There is strong evidence that the victim was very *intoxicated and it appears that the source of that was home-distilled ... alcohol or white spirit that (Tostee) had given her,” he said.

Gold Coast carpet layer Gable Tostee held Warriena Wright down in a 78-second long stranglehold and may have made her drink 'vodka' brewed from a homemade still inside his Surfers Paradise apartment, according to an alleged account of Ms Wright's final hours by police.

Which brings up another point of question:
Was there any investigation into the making of the alcohol? (White Spirit Vodka)

You can own a still under a certain capacity (5Ltrs) - but it is illegal to distil and make alcohol (Spirits) with it regardless of the size of the still.
There is also a broad definition of stills and alcohol producing equipment - also safety laws to consider here.

Just a question: Was the home brew GT made and gave to Rrie a consideration in the way the night progressed and ended?
I would say yes (IMHO).

What was the alcohol % in that brew, and has it been looked at to see if it was made properly? It can be poisonous if not made correctly.

What controls apply to stills?
You must have an excise manufacturer licence to distil spirits regardless of whether the still is less than or greater than 5 litres capacity.

ABC News Article - Read More...
Distilling spirits at home without a license is illegal, but it is legal to buy distilling equipment.
-----
While owning a small still in Australia is not illegal, making alcohol with it can attract big fines or a jail term.
The Federal Attorney General Mark Dreyfus says it is a matter for the Tax Office, which enforces alcohol laws.
-----

Australian Federal Government
Permission for a still
If you're a licensed excise manufacturer you can buy, import, manufacture, dispose of, possess, own or sell a still without permission.
If you're not a licensed excise manufacturer you must have permission to buy, import, manufacture, dispose of, possess, own or sell a still unless it:
only has a capacity of five litres or less, and
will not be used to distil alcohol.
Otherwise you'll need to apply to us for permission for a still.

Licence to distil alcohol
You must hold an excise manufacturer licence before you can distil alcohol, and you must pay excise duty on any alcohol you produce.

All distilled alcohol is subject to excise duty whether produced by a licensed manufacturer or not.
Alcohol includes spirits, ethyl alcohol and ethanol. It does not include methanol, propenol, isopropenol and butanol.

Excise licences are only granted to applicants who can demonstrate they meet the requirements of the Excise Act 1901, including having:
physically secure premises to prevent any other person having access to the licensed area
skills and experience in distillation
appropriate volume and alcoholic strength measuring equipment
an approved record keeping system.
Attention
You will have committed an offence and penalties may apply if you do not have the appropriate permission or licence.

That is a side issue, and not relevant I believe.

That is a side issue, and not relevant I believe.

Although you consider it a side-issue, it can be considered here. (JMO)
It has context relevant to the case as an avenue of inquiry in investigation if found it is relevant to the Events of Consequence, and the autopsy and the toxicology reports in regard to Warriena Tagpuno Wright, and possibly to TG.

Is it possible for someone of her stature to jump over?” he said.
Quite easily. The railing is about 1.0 - 1.2 m high on those apartments, I have seen the balcony photos.
