A bail application today heard how Tostee was not on the balcony when she fell to her death and there was a strong possibility the charge could be downgraded to manslaughter.

Prosecutor Ben Power told the court the dangerous act was locking her out on the balcony with no sensible route of escape.

Mr Power said by doing so, he deprived her of her liberty.

"The dangerous act was shoving the victim out onto a 14-storey balcony and locking her out there," Mr Power told the court.

"He had a choice of whether to allow the victim to leave. She was pleading with him to let her go.

"He, through that act, deprived her of her liberty.

"Manslaughter looms at least as a very strong possibility."

What is sinister or suspicious or out of the ordinary about them being in that square shallow container?

Because I thinking just maybe they had been picked up and replaced in their pot and only got knocked off in all the pushing, shoving, chucking and neutralising.
So not really that big of a deal in the scheme of things.

These were rock, rocks, not styrofoam which would not draw blood when thrown at a person. His blood was found on one. No-one, not even the Crown suggested there were anything other than rock, rocks.

They are decorative pebbles (not styrofoam) measuring approx 2cm X 1cm, if they are the ones I am thinking of......I have them around my pool & landscaping......Styrofoam is used in containers replacing boxes......Plant nurseries use styrofoam balls as well with potting mixes when potting their plants......MOO.

I remember one of my professors bragging that you need an IQ of around 140 to make it university professor. Given GT's occupation as carpet layer, and just looking at a list of modern occupations by IQ, he's probably in the range of mid 70s to low 100s - say 75 to 110 max.

I suspect he just likes the number 150. Didn't he say somewhere he'd had 150 women?

What is it with men who date and their IQ? Only recently my friend rang just after she had a blind date...the date explained he was 'between jobs' but he had an IQ of 300!! I told her to tell him to ring Mossad, ring Obama, ring Putin, the KGB, NASA... he'd have a job within the hour. She declined not wanting to contact the loser again. Do they equate an elevated IQ level (albeit imaginary) with stud capability?

That she was throwing them at Tostee is a big deal. It is part of the evidence going to her extra-ordinary behaviour inside a total stranger's Unit.

in that case, .. that remote case, there would be blood spots on the surface of the bowl itself, on the inside . .. wouldn't there? no one mentions it.. . heh. weeeeelllllll.. I don't think so. nooo. I think he actually took time out to throw a few around himself, before exiting the apartment once his guest had gone over the balcony. As you do.

The Homemakers Guide to Good Housekeeping says not to place blood-stained rocks and/or pebbles back on display until they have been thoroughly cleaned, so future guests can enjoy a pleasant experience when visiting. Basic dishwashing detergent or Sard's Wonder soap will do the trick. Sprinkle with some lavender sprigs after to create a beautiful aroma.

Yes I would have expected the blood to be on the scattered rock rocks.

I agree they are pebbles. Rocks and boulders are used in an outside environment for large garden landscapes. We have acres of beautiful gardens incorporating both types.

I think I had in mind that he could have been putting the pebbles back in the bowl, each time Warriena threw one. (Of course, not mentioning that in his recording, but just doing it.)
But we will never know probably. I can't imagine that he wants the brahs to know too much about his OCD.
