If the house is the one that was in early MSM reports, it is on a corner and the house is on an angle - the front yard could be either side of the house and it is a 1.25 acre block - possibly why it is being misreported IMO

Very good point sleepinoz! :)

I agree that William was taken, otherwise there would have been a trail for the dogs to follow, but it appears that there was not.

Is it just me, but it seems that although there was a lot of local ground support from people in town and local fire and police forces, that it took awhile for the big guns to get involved. I hope nothing has been missed because of that. In the last couple of days the assumption has shifted from the idea that 'William wandered off' to that he was abducted from the front yard. Also .. isn't that just terrible luck, that the boy was outside when a potential predator just happened to see him, and happened to see his sister go inside for a moment .. surely if that is what happened then the person would have to be local as they were watching the place for awhile? What does everyone else think .. I am still hoping for a miracle here.

Since many have said that this area was not ideal for a predator (the two-legged kind), my thoughts are that this was a crime of opportunity. Someone noticed these children and watched them, waiting for an opportunity. The fact that this person was nearby enough to take advantage of the situation when she went inside, is very creepy. They may have been watching in the bush. The fact that they took a chance in broad daylight, with grandma and possibly mum in the vicinity, tells me that they weren't afraid of being spotted. It was someone familiar to grandma, who would be able to explain away why they were there and why they had William. This has to be a neighbor or someone who was visiting a neighbor that day. How many houses on the street?

Agree, if it was an abduction it's going to be a local, perhaps someone without a record even .. a younger person perhaps?

Pretty sure they are, numerous comments in MSM about 'the parents', and the father relentlessly searching nearby backyards.

Bush = drug plantations.

Have they used thermal imaging in choppers?
Google maps show the road becomes a fire track into the bush.

Brett Cowan the convicted pedophile described himself as 'an opportunist'.

I always think about relatives living in someone's basement. Why is that?

This appears a free standing single level brick veneer home. Very barely any basements in Aus.
The contour of the land appears to fall away slightly to the back so there would be small access under the house but not standing room.

William was left alone with his sister for no more than five minutes in the front yard of the house, which sits at the end of a quiet street, next to bushland

Far out that is not long at all. Im not sure what to think now

Watch 5 minutes pass on your clock. A lot can happen in that time. And whoever did this was waiting for the precise second to pounce. And while it's likely a man, it isn't necessarily so.

im hoping all neighbours homes have been thoroughly searched, i feel he is near home, also who told msm he was playing on the balcony when police reports say he was in the front/back yard, also his sisters age keeps changing from younger to 5yrs now i read she is 8yrs old!

Yes it sure can. My 4yr old ran out my yard into a paddock full of wheat when my back was turned. He heard me yelling for him so he didnt get too far away.
Just thinking about that, he stopped and starting crying because he was scared.

Im still unsure what to think here though.

I don't mean a relative living in grandma's basement, but one in a nearby house. And it doesn't have to be a basement, any type of guest quarters.

<modsnip>

How long has the grandparents lived there? Do they know the property well enough to tell of wells, underground water tanks or even disused septic tanks?

Children have drowned in a half bucket of water, but where is he?
A cyber prayer is needed.

I really don't know what to think with this....did he wander off or has he been taken.
