There were hopes of a breakthrough yesterday when a member of the public found a Spiderman suit in a park in Port Macquarie, similar to the one William was wearing when he went missing.
Officers rushed to the scene, about 40km northeast of Kendall, but concluded that the suit did not match.

i still wonder about this spiderman suit, why would a child discard it at a park? hope police have taken it to test, just in case.
also assuming the parents have been questioned thoroughly as police are exploring all lines of enquiry, they usually check family out first

I was wondering about the age of Williams sister, in the media I have seen her refered to as his sister and lots of times as his younger sister, which would make her about 2 or a wee bit older.

Yet here im sure someone posted the sister was older than him. Can anyone confirm Williams sisters age? As always my thoughts and prayers are with his family for a safe and good outcome to this.

Im confused about her age as well. When I read she was Williams young sister I wasnt surprised she couldnt really help police with info. :dunno:

Police have interviewed William's little sister, but she did not know anything about what happened

according to this MSM mum and grandma noticed William missing

William had been playing in the front yard of his grandmother's house with his young sister when he disappeared at 10.30am on Friday.

"He was playing in the [front] yard, running around the house with his sister and in a short period of time both his grandmother and mother have noticed that he went missing.

His parents were "devastated", and his sister knew her brother was "lost", Nicole said.

"She knows that there are lots of people looking for him and she wants him back, as the family want him back. She misses him, she misses playing with him," Nicole said.

100 hours: search no closer to finding missing William

As the search for William Tyrell pushes into a fifth day, police are not giving up on the search for the missing toddler.

But they are perplexed as to his fate.

Police have conceded an opportunistic attack is unlikely, as the house from where he went missing is surrounded by bushland, with only a handful of houses nearby.

In addition, it’s at the top of a steep hill and at the end of a cul-de-sac, meaning there is almost no traffic.

Nobody saw him scream, nor saw anything suspicious at the time he disappeared.

Also, police say children of that age tend to be found in three hours and within 300 metres of where they were last seen.

At least that explains why they seem to've concentrated SO much on the search, moreso it seemed to me than similar cases.

In a Channel 7 news update about half an hour ago, they said that if they don't find him by the end of tomorrow, then they will start scaling the search back.

Heartbreaking.

Oh my heart broke when I read that :( I was wondering when they were going to announce this.

I cannot imagine having a small child (or any child or loved one, actually) go missing, and just not know what happened to him/her. It would be like removing a piece of your heart. You would search for their face everywhere you go ... forever. I so hope that this young family gets some answers. :please:

That's hard to believe that police were looking within 10 minutes.

Yeah, I know ... but it is also hard to imagine that a little boy has just seemingly vanished off the face of the earth. Here one minute, gone the next.

If accurate (or even semi accurate), it makes me wonder if an officer/retired officer lives right in the neighbourhood.

 any wells around?

Jessica Morales became famous in 1987, when, at 18 months old, she fell down a well in her aunt's backyard. She remained trapped for 58 hours while America watched on CNN.
Born in Texas in 1986, Jessica McClure Morales, also known as "Baby Jessica," became famous in 1987, when, at 18 months old, she fell down a 22-foot well in her aunt's backyard. She remained trapped in the well for 58 hours, while America watched on CNN, before being rescued.

I remember watching that story on the news when I was only quite young...that was such a full on rescue and so glad that there was a good outcome!

I can't see it in that article either :waitasec: ... they must be hiding it from us SAers.

But it is still in this one ....

"A clue finally appeared to surface earlier today after police received reports of a Spiderman suit dumped in a park in Port Macquarie, about half an hour away.

Officers confirmed the discovery a short time later but it was not the same as the one William was wearing when he went missing and was dismissed as a dead end."

suppose it all depends on who is identifying the costume and if they have anything to hide though...just typing (thinking out loud)

They have photos of him in the suit though, so sure police would have compared

  • #339
My initial thought was that someone with a really sick sense of humour (?) put that suit in the park.

I'm sorry if I've already posted this...having trouble with my posts tonight!!!...But what is bolded is either pure ignorance or straight out B***S***...the street William has gone missing from is a direct street leading into a 4x4 track into the Kendall State Forest. 4X4 enthusiast would and have obviously used this road many times (going by Google Earth Images) to discount an opportunistic abduction is either an indication that police know more than they are letting on or just pure stupidity..
