little William is occupying my thoughts today

I was wondering why the parents haven't done a public appeal - if the police think abduction is a possibility

  • #462
this case is so strange, I can't think of another case where we haven't seen an appeal by a distraught family member, I'm sure the police actually encourage this for all kinds of reasons.
I've never seen a case where the media haven't managed to talk to the family and get some background information.
I really hope all the thousands of hours given by volunteers has not been for nothing.

If this was my grandchild no matter how distraught I was, I would be doing everything in my power to get info out and co operating totally with the media. This silence is bothering me.

I read somewhere that they had already had the cadaver dogs in and they also found nothing :/ I was saying to my husband last night that pregnant or not I would definatelly have my face on camera asking for my son to be found. I don't think I would care what state I was in :/
Cadaver dogs are trained to find bodies, what if he wasn't dead when they were sniffing, but is now?

Nicole is a mystery. I've also seen it spelt nichole.

To me its even more of a mystery due to the fact they where visiting, of course a close friend could turn up if your child is missing but when my kids where that age, all my close friends also had kids, I wouldnt be able to go stay with someone even if i wanted to.

If my child was missing I know I would be a mess, but ......IMO ....I think Mum of a missing child may appeal to some tiny part of human left in someone who may have taken her child, by speaking out.

Yes it bothers me too. Was there ever a reason given why mum, dad or grandma haven't spoken?

I agree! In fact if I'm not mistaken, an emotional, sobbing wreck would be much more valued than a parent showing little emotion. Particularly n an abduction the point of appeals is to, well, appeal. To the public for information but also to appeal to the abductor's human side (if they have one that is!)
I guess people are different but still... odd.

Sniffer dogs and cadaver dogs were used. One would hope that one or the other would have found traces of William. Someone on the SES FB site said that it is possible that the dogs were confused by a myriad of other scents ... animals, people ... but I would think that these types of dogs are well-accustomed to interference from other scents, and are well-trained to zero in on specific scents.

"Neither police sniffer dogs nor cadaver dogs had been able to pick up any sign of the boy, Fehon said.

He said investigators were “keeping an open mind” about whether William had been taken."

Are the parents even still at the grandmother's house, I only recall seeing one pic of an "upset man", the media must be camped outside the house, I remember "Nichole" thanking volunteers days ago, but
this family's silence is becoming deafening, I remember Alison Baden Clays parents going to the search headquarters.

some info on the beautiful dogs

Police Dog Unit - NSW Police Force

Role of Dog Unit

The NSW Police Dog Unit was formed in 1932 and provides a support service for all operational police in NSW. The Unit’s aim is to provide specialist canine services such as general purpose, drug, firearms/explosive detection and human remains dogs. NSW Police Dogs are amongst the best trained in the world.

General Purpose
General purpose teams are highly skilled and motivated. The General purpose police dog has a keen sense of smell which it uses to track and search for missing persons, suspected offenders or property connected to crime scenes. The locations covered by the team include buildings, thick bush, rural and suburban areas.
The General Purpose dog teams support police at High Risk confrontations, Crowd Control and Urban Search & Rescue disasters.

Sniffer dogs and cadaver dogs found no scent in the yard, fuelling fears he may have been abducted.

http://www.smh.com.au/national/fear...om-kendall-20140916-10hqb0.html#ixzz3DWx6NtUd

As in not at all, not in the yard anywhere??

This is interesting..... considering what i read that was posted on the missing persons register australia page that he was in the yard....

In addition to this the post on the Aus missing persons read "YES - It has been suggested many times to use Aboriginal trackers but as there have been hundreds of people through the bush it’s unlikely a tracker would be able to trace William."

This morning I saw that bush tracker Jake Cassar is there with his Dog, Benson. He stated he found some tracks this morning. No more detail into what type but it was passed onto police.
Like I always say, it is unwise to close the doors to advice especially in circumstances so urgent

Amee, I am so glad. He looks like a wonderful soul. Im glad he is out there now with Benson

The complete absence of evidence - tracks, scent trails, pieces of clothing, blood or hair - to suggest William wandered alone into bush has heightened fears he may have been abducted.

But Supt Fehon said the ground search of bush and the village of Kendall would continue today unabated.

A decision to scale back the operation had not yet been made, he said

So that video a few pages back wasn't the parents and the women commenting on facebook wasn't the mother? I'm confused.

No, this is not the mum ... this is "Nicole, speaking on behalf of the family" ....

I can't say anything about the person commenting on FB ... I did not see the comments ... could not find them among the thousands of comments there.

*The people speaking (I thought and was lead to believe) were family friends? one named Nicole (not the parents)
*The facebook post made on missing persons was made by the person who runs the page whose name is also Nicole but not the same one as shown in the video.

Correct me if I am wrong

I'm just waiting for msm to come out with what many of us are thinking, or some evidence to the contrary. But as things are, too hard not to break TOS. What I will say is that IS very very odd for a trained dog to pick up NO scent at all where a child has purportedly and recently been. Were there heavy rains in the area? If not, then probably best I keep mum for a bit. :x

I'm reading along, though, thanks to everyone finding reports and extra info, good work.

it does seem odd the parents havent made a plea but maybe they are in hiding and have reason to fear someone, so keeping away from media? could the person theyre hiding from have taken william?
but then doesnt the mother have a facebook page with photos of the children?
even the spokesperson nicole only uses her first name?
he looks loved and happy in all his photos
i hope the tracker finds something
