What if, and this is just me theorising, BS had been told by Grandma that the family were due to visit that weekend and needed the washer fixed, BS asks about the children and Grandma tells him. There's no reason that she can't talk about them. They are miles and miles from where the children live, BS won't know their full identity and Grandma can never foresee that this will end up in the media, so she tells BS that there is William aged 3 and his sister (grandma says name) aged 4. BS tells grandma about his own family situation, tells her he needs to order part and will be back to fix it.
On the Friday, BS makes Kendall his first call of the day and heads to grandma's house not knowing the family have arrived. Pulls up and watches william and his sister playing. Sees William running around without the sister and calls William over by saying "hey there William" (as he remembers William's name from the previous conversation with Grandma and obviously they have the same name). William is cautious at first but BS keeps talking to him, maybe about Spiderman, maybe he has some sweets with him, maybe has one of his grandsons' toys in his van or something to tempt William or maybe he says "hey my name is William too!" Little ones aren't as guarded when they are talking, and can trust someone quickly so maybe BS asks William where his mummy and daddy are, and William says Daddy has gone to work, and mummy is in the house. BS says he will take William to daddy and off they go. No screaming. No crying. BS straps him happily into the van, gone. Easily done in 5 minutes or so.
It worries me that BS has passing over children to others as an allegation from his past. The police are happy to say there is an active paedo ring in the area. Maybe BS didn't abduct William for himself, but to pass to a friend who likes little boys?
It's just a thought. But it's so easy to gain little kids' trust and if William thinks BS is just a nice grandad type and is going to take him to see his daddy then it would be easy to take him.
