Considering that there is a Woolworths and a few small shops in the small estate Colin lives in, whatever bs needed could have been picked up there by anyone if bs presence instead of speddings doing it when he probably knew media were following him

Thank you apollosong for bringing reality to our table.
Your knowledge is valuable and extremely appreciated.

My local shop is an agent for Australia Post as AustPost has shut down rural post offices. If I wanted to send a message to someone (knowing I would be monitored by police/phone/internet/press) I would buy some stamps and send a letter, fairly easy and hard to link back to myself if not in my hand writing.

Very good thinking.

Sometimes I find it hard to put what I want to say in my head to words. What I was trying to say was he would have known media was following him yet he stopped at a corner store anyways instead of getting someone to get what he needed or getting them to get it at the woollies which was much closer to where he's staying. Almost "cocky" like.

I know people are saying innocent until proven guilty. Would those people still feel calm and safe if he was staying close to them?

It wouldn't bother me as I just think that you don't know anyone well enough to assume your children are safe when they are not with you.

But we do not know that is what happened.

Bill Spedding said “We understand the investigation, we accept the investigation. I understand I was a person of interest because a few days before I was out there, a few days after his disappearance I was out there. I understand they are looking into that and I *accept that fully.”

And he was expected to be there on the day.
imo

You are right. We don't know what has happened. Most people on this forum are utterly convinced of his guilt and are interpreting every move he makes as some further "proof" of his guilt. I am just giving an alternative theory that is not consistent of his guilt.

It wouldn't bother me at all. My kids only go to places where I think they will be safe. They don't go wandering into neighbourhood homes without me.

My sister lived across the road from a notorious convicted paedophile for 15 years. It was not an issue. None of the neighbourhood kids went to his house.

The danger is not the paedophile you know. It's the paedophile you don't know.

"He was released from Cessnock prison last night and reported to police in Port Macquarie about 8.15am today as part of his strict bail conditions."

"He was then seen stopping off at the Bonny Hills general store before retreating to a relative’s house in Lakewood, near Laurieton."

"He has not yet returned to his Bonny Hills home where he lives with wife Maragret."

Hmm..... Doing a bit of shopping - life goes on I suppose.

Hat? Wig? Sunglasses?
No, seriously, probably a new phone or SIM card.

Agreed apollosong, hardly the actions you would expect considering everything.
I wonder if he walked out empty handed because someone refused to serve him, haha!

If people think the discussion about BS and his current charges is not relevant or detracting from William's case, is it worth asking the mods if we should have a separate thread for the 1987 case? It does seems to be bothering some posters. Mind you, it may mean that this thread of William's could slow down a fair bit if the 1987 case is relocated.
Actually now that I think about it, there would be a lot of info stuck on this thread that folks would want to refer to - maybe it wouldn't be that easy to separate them.
:dunno:

Mmm no I think the two cases are intrinsically linked in some way. They keep on saying Paedophile Ring.

This is true and I do agree, especially as previously stated, it is something I have to consider regularly in the industry I work in (sports) however, if he was living down the road from me I would really struggle with it as a parent. I think most would.

Remember the photo of BS (sitting on a lounge I think) nursing a little baby dressed in pink? Photo removed long ago but I wonder now whose baby it was? I can still see him smiling into the camera.

I kept a copy of that particular photo....I wondered that too.........:)

He has something green in his hand. To me it looks like a motel room key. Also, there's something rectangular in his left front pocket. Maybe he did buy cigarettes.

We need to know what other small things they sell in that store.

It's not a motel key. It is a green button on the machine behind BS.

William was taken from his own back yard.....he didn't to go into a neighbourhood house, that we know of.

I originally thought of a new sim card - but that would be a dumb move on his part. Colin would buy something like that for him.

I wouldn't feel threatened with him being out, he would not dare risk his bail surely. As ksks said its better the one you know than the one you don't .

I understand why someone posted here wondering why BS appeared to be leaving the store empty handed - suspecting he may not have been buying anything but somehow communicating with another individual. But honestly, he could have purchased a small item or two (as some have already suggested ciggies, etc) and have them in his pockets.
Why would knowing the exact items be important or relevant though? General stores would carry many, many small items (none of which would be sinister) that men would keep in any one of their pockets, but I'd think favourite cigs, lighter, gum etc would be most likely in this case.
Stopping at one or even many stores on the way home after being incarcerated doesn't strike me as being very noteworthy or suspicious at all - just someone trying to get back to normal, or yes ... even present the image that they have nothing to hide.

Will just be interesting if Victorian police come knocking soon

Just being sleuthy. He's the only POI we have.

I'm just thinking he have may have gotten permission to stay in a caravan or cabin in some remote area - away from neighbor's kids and prying eyes, and was picking up the key. This stop must of been before or after he made his daily appearance with the police.
