Jubelin has just stated on 60 minutes that there has been over 300 tips since last Sunday night. There have been 12 new people of interest nominated since sunday which takes it to 27 people of people of interest, for one reason or another. There have been 53 sightings reported which they are following up on,

A woman contacted a current affair to state that her 11 year old was approached by a man a couple of streets away, in a short time frame before William was abducted.

Jubelin won't comment on the video made by BS.

Forensic investigator brought in as fresh set of eyes for an interpretation of the crime scene, nature of the crime and the type of pepretrator involved

The vehicle details were not released due to strategy, also no mention of reward because its not appropriate as part of their strategy.

Jubelin says person responsible should be feeling huge amount of heat

Jubelin says each day they are making progress and the next day could be the breakthrough that they need.

This was a quick summary as I watched the article. Please correct if I made a mistake

Please tell me they've known this for a while, and she hasn't just come forward.

Seems strange that there are 27 persons of interest but only BS name has been released.

Umm....she contact 60 minutes after last weeks episode from what I understand. They then forwarded the information to Jubelin.

He did state that these 27 people are of interest for one reason or another. I was trying to quickly get as much information on here as I could in the short time frame of the interview
He clarified that interest in those people range from someone tipping them off to "this person is acting strange regarding this" or for other simpler reasons. Which to me means they will probably be ruled out pretty quickly. Jubelin did state that he has never seen as much public interest in a case as he has in with this one.

From watching Jubelin you can tell that this man has it under control. Nothing rattles him, and he knows what the deal is. I feel that this will become a precedent for how future abducted/kidnapped children cases are handled.

Jubelin also said something like some people contacted them about potential people of interest and said that the people giving the info had been suspicious of certain people for some time, or had certain information for some time, but had put off giving the info until now. He then stressed that any info would be treated in the strictest confidence.

Sorry, I can't remember his exact words ... but the gist was that some people had info that they hadn't been forthcoming with, possibly out of fear (?)

From the Kendall Chronical
Friday 3 October, 2014, Volume 11 Issue 10

WHEN A CHILD GOES MISSING.......
Our hearts and prayers go out to the family whose little boy, William, went missing in such baffling circumstances on that fateful Friday morning a couple of weeks ago.
Within a very short space of time the residents of Benaroon Drive plus a huge number of residents from Kendall and nearby towns joined the Police, SES, RFS and, Surf Lifesav- ing rallied to help in the search for William. The search con- tinued on into the night and over the next few days and night using helicopters, tracker dogs, horses, and motorbikes to comb the surrounding properties and bushland. All were hopeful that he would be found quickly but somehow he has disappeared leaving no trace and we are all devastated that such a thing could happen in our lovely, peaceful village of Kendall.
The police detectives have worked tirelessly taking state- ments from dozens of householders in the immediate area and these detectives have been reassigned from Kempsey, Newcastle and many other towns. Any information that anyone can provide that will help them solve this very baf- fling case is always politely and thankfully received so please contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 if you can supply any information that you think could help no matter how insignificant it may seem.
Many parents in Kendall have voiced their concerns and the affect it has had on both them and their children. The little ones are fearful and many parents have said that some chil- dren do not want to sleep in their own bed or walk anywhere on their own. The Camden Haven Courier published infor- mation from the NSW Justice Department and it is repeated here to assist in answering childrens‘ questions.

I'm convinced it's him too, if he was ever eliminated I'd have to go back to William got lost in the bush or water and was not found, there just is nothing else that works for me.
I feel sorry for the police, they would have a huge problem prosecuting at this point, they need a confession, hence what their appeals are trying to accomplish.

Me too. BS is in it up to his neck one way or another as far as I'm concerned. I also have a very strong gut feeling, for whatever little it's worth, about Anthony Jones. This guy is bad news, I can feel it in my bones! Just my opinion of course.

DI Jubelin's 'focus' in the first seconds of this piece is interesting.

Thanks for the tip about Google search for Murdoch newspaper articles behind paywalls, butterstick, and I don't lament not being able to access Andrew Bolt's articles (his TV show taking up two prime time slots on a Sunday is already more than I can bear!)

Is it possible to paraphrase for us, please, curious one, as this article is behind a paywall.

If you browse in private mode, you might be able to read it? I just learnt how to do that (right now) as I couldn't access it a 2nd time. It worked for me when I opened a private window.

Yep. AJ doesn't exactly look like a model citizen :s

All legitimate reasons to be in a residential street. Also, given the location, someone such as a council ranger/worker or NSW Parks Service ranger. Wearing a uniform, driving a 4WD with lights not unlike police car/fire vehicle, which could be attractive to a small boy. Would know the area intimately, especially unsealed short cuts. I don't like to think this way as I know the majority of people in those roles do so much good but, sadly, others do the same as it gives them 'opportunity' and 'cover'. Think Rural Fire Services volunteers who have committed arson.

Extra thought: Those professions would also make for a legitimate reason to insinuate themselves into any search or investigation; not unheard of (i.e., Ariel Castro).

Ah, that's a shame. How frustrating. Well, I guess she must of had her reasons for not coming forward before.

As I said yesterday (p. 17):

"I can't imagine what could be more important than the wellbeing of a child and his family? Not one's reputation, not the consequences of an unrelated illegal activity, nothing but one's guilt, and/or cowardly attitude toward taking responsibility for one's wrongdoing."

Thanks also, curious one, for the private browsing tip.

Maybe her son did not tell her straight away

Maybe her son did not tell her straight away

That is very possible. We don't know the family dynamics of this particular woman. There are a thousand reasons why her child didn't mention it, or why she didn't give it any value if he told her. I can only imagine how this woman must be feeling now. The fact she contacted 60 minutes and not the police makes me think she is scared for some reason.

  • #419
She might just never have connected the two incidents. And maybe they aren't connected, but perhaps it took the current publicity push for her to think there could be something there.

Just a thought that came to me reading over today's posts.... Williams grandad died in the February. I wonder if he attended the funeral and were there many people attending from the local community. It would be another opportunity for someone of that sick twisted mindset to spot a 'cute' little fella and get him stuck in their head... When they hear he's back in the area they may have hung around hoping for another look... Whatever! Probably a crazy concept but I guess lateral thinking is in order at this stage!
