I keep thinking about those 2015 dates on AJ's rap sheet. May and August from memory.
Does it seem that AJ has been facing more than just the charges of which he was sentenced on the 27th September.
I mean there appeared to be inconsistencies with the court listings - sometimes full name, sometime name suppressed and just initials.
Did he have more than one case pending ... during his stay in protective custody?
Please tell me he was not on bail at the time William disappeared.

I don't think there is a gap in his rap sheet - the heading of the charges listed in the DT article says "TONY JONES (SELECTED) RAP SHEET"

Whereas Todays article says he had over 90 convictions - there isn't 90 convictions listed in the DT article, I think they've just selected a few to post in their article.

My opinion on the May and August 2015 charges - Depending on the terms of his AVO it can be breached by phone and the August one could be when he was actually found guilty of the latest crime before he was sentenced. I'm not positive but that is what I think they are.

I must try a device wifi without a sim card in it.
But I can slmost guarentee there will be a MAC or NIC ID with any comms.
Not even sure a phone will transfer data without a SIM card partly for security purposes and comm operations.

You do if you are cruising around the streets, but not if you are in a house with WiFi, or connect via Bluetooth to another device. What I was thinking is a second phone with no sim is easy to get and use and throw off a bridge.

I would do anything to be Jubelin for a day - I wish I knew more, I know we all do. I get so frustrated. All missing people cases are sad, but this one has struck me to the core for some reason. I can only hope someone has him and is caring for him well and have been treating his Asthma.

Is there such a case in which an abducted child has been abducted by persons, who meant well and did good on him?

You can purchase iPads etc that will work on Wifi but don't have the ability to insert a SIM, some older phones will take photo's without SIM cards and can be transferred via bluetooth or cabled to your PC - a couple of examples.

There are a number of ways to transfer photo's without SIM cards, I'm not sure though if the photo will contain any exif data or anything else that would identify how,where, when and why - I'm not that technically inclined

BBM: I agree Sleep. He would have been arrested in August for the sex offences, faced court and jailed (on remand) on 27 September. He was finally sentenced to a piddly 12 months last week. AJ would have been out and about between August and 27 September. William was abducted on 12 September, well within that time frame. Having said that, AJ is still only a POI along with about 12 others apparently.

AJ would have been out and about between August and 27 September. William was abducted on 12 September, well within that time frame. Having said that, AJ is still only a POI along with about 12 others apparently.

The alibi he has provided to family members is that he was out collecting scrap metal at the time William vanished. They say he arrived back home drunk at 2pm that day.

It would be interesting to know if that was normal or unusual to arrive home drunk at 2pm, or even if he arrived home drunk everyday regardless of the time.

You'd think he would be drinking with someone else, if not you'd have to wonder why he didn't just bring his alcohol home.

AJ had been in jail for 12 months from 27 September 2014 according to MSM. This would have been in relation to the indecent assault charges? On 6 August 2015 he fronts court for these charges and was sentenced last week. I think I've got it right now?

on google earth the bushtrack just up from the grandmothers house is wide enough for vehicle access and has a clear view of the verandah and area where william and his sister were playing, this track looks like it connects to albert st, i still wonder if this is where william was taken through

Personally I feel there may be grander things to come, unless he did a deal for shorter sentence of 2 years one already served.

I think we're all getting confused - too many dates over a long period of time - but yeah, that's what I understand it to be.

AJ was recently sentenced to a minimum of 2 years of which he'd already served one. (That takes care of 2015.)

The earlier part of 2004-2014 he may have been in gaol for the 2004 sentence?

I imagine the 'selected rap sheet' only shows convictions so possibly there were offences for which he was acquitted, charges dropped, or he hasn't been caught yet. I'm not sure whether we would know if there were other charges pending. I can't recall if the NSW court dates list we saw showed more than a couple of weeks into the future.

Where was he drinking? Any independent witnesses or hotel CCTV?

The only cases I can think of are family abductions. And nope - no, I'm not saying that as a way to say I'm hinting at anything! But there are lots of cases of non-custodial parents kidnapping their children and running off to their home countries to live with them etc. The children are not harmed (not physically anyway, but I'm sure it's psychologically a damaging experience) but many laws are broken. Not suggesting that's the case with WT, as the police have said family are in the clear. Plus despite the 'complicated past' of WT it doesn't seem like it's this kind of situation anyway (where it's usually an ex trying to take the kid away from the custodial parent)

Stranger kidnappings where the kidnapped are kept alive definitely happen, but they're the minority and they're not treated well. e.g. the Ariel Castro kidnappings, Shawn Hornbeck, Natascha Kampusch, Jaycee Lee Dugard, Elizabeth Smart etc

PS the Shawn Hornbeck case reminds me most of WT's, though there is a significant age difference.

I think the penny is dropping for me.

Out of EVERYONE in this horrible case...who would NOT want their names broadcast? Who shows the least amount of care for William??

Those are the people who would place a gag order.

The people who would not want their names broadcast are the people whose lives are being destroyed by allegations that they are responsible. And it may well be the case that these people are not involved.

The judge imposes the suppression orders on application by a party. There is the. An argument about whether an order is appropriate. The judge doesnt impose a suppression order without real, valid grounds.

At the moment there are two named POI. There is a lot of assumption on this site that they must both be involved. If it turns out that one, or both, are not involved, then this case will be one of the greatest travesties of justice this country has ever seen.

Another GAPA member, Anthony Jones, is behind bars and awaiting a September 14 sentencing for indecently assaulting a different 11-year-old child.

While we kept our hopes up for Allison Baden-Clay her body was found only 10 days later and we were all united in our shock. We helped each other through, cried together and then became a formidable force. Some of us travelled to Brookfield to be together. We felt we knew her.

William has been missing over a year now and if he is found we will be united in our happiness and relief.

Unfortunately there could be a different outcome and I feel we should bracing ourselves because many will experience grief worse than others.

Please talk over your feelings with us if ever you are feeling overwhelmed.

I sometimes am awash with helplessness.

If only the clock could be turned back for this sweet little child.
