The ex-wife said she kicked AJ out in September last year.So what car was he driving when he left of did he leave on foot? In a taxi perhaps? So the white station wagon belonged to the ex-wife, she's kicked AJ out and gave her own car away. It doesn't make sense. If the car belonged to AJ and she gave it away, I could half understand but if it did belong to him, why didn't he take it. It's a station wagon. Lots of room to pack all your stuff in when you've been kicked out.

She kicked him out ... when? After the 12th Sept when he arrived home drunk at 2pm but before 27th when he was locked up I am assuming.
Where was he living after she kicked him out?

But if someone asked if you would store their car on your property for a while, would you?

If my neighbour asks me, I will say yes. Depends on how good you know your neighbour?

Was he the guy from Wauchope? Probably living in the prison?

I wonder if AJ's alibi has anything to do with the police asking the public whether they'd found in the local forests bits that might have come off cars.

After he was arrested and charged, his crime came to light and she learnt about it. I don't think 'kicked him out' should be taken as she actually kicked him out. It just means she packed his stuff and have his stuff removed.

By the time she learnt of his crime, he was safely behind bars. Hasn't been out since.

"Neighbours" can be several houses away.

Was it in a closed up garage or shed???

It is a huge difference if it's locked up or sitting in a neighbours driveway.

BBM: How do you know this?

Right? Unless the neighbors were going through a tough time and this was a charitable act.. but if someone OFFERED me a car, unsolicited and for free I would probably call the police right then and there!
I'm guessing it was more of a loan. Assuming title was never transferred over and registered into neighbors name of it would have been found right away.

on google earth the bushtrack just up from the grandmothers house is wide enough for vehicle access and has a clear view of the verandah and area where william and his sister were playing, this track looks like it connects to albert st, i still wonder if this is where william was taken through

Yes, this has been one of my 'getaway theories' all along, due to fact neighbour's wife left home at around the same time it was realised William was missing and didn't see any cars in Benaroon Drive.

If you turn left from the cemetery (behind GM's former residence) onto Albert Road (rather than right towards Kew) it 'ends' after 3km, and then it's only accessible by 4WD (according to munky79).

Read an MSM article earlier today that stated that white 4WD was seen on Benaroon Drive on the day of William's disappearance, not just 'speeding through the streets of Kendall'.

Will trace a map of where 4WD would end up. (Links and map to come. Will bump.)

From my knowledge they don't do vehicle titles in Australia, just certificate of registration. The RTA as it used to be called handles all that and is equivalent to the DMV in the States. Although now in Aus. they call it Maritime something or other, can't remember the name of it offhand.

Yep thats what I meant. Unless he was actually kicked out before the 12th Sept when he was said to have come home drunk at 2pm then there are not many days in between because he has been in prison since the 27 September 2014.
imo

Good question Makara. Maybe she owned more than one vehicle and he took the wagon when he was kicked out? But that still leaves the question of what he was driving after the car was given to neighbors. Maybe a buddy loaned him one.

Gosh, I hope the neighbor isn't another POI.

I congratulate FM describing from memory that car so well or did the police help by putting TJ's vehicle in that picture at Benaroon?

well she did describe them the day she saw them! If I noticed a couple of cars this morning I thought were sus I'd be able to remember their colour, make and model as well and yep I'm a 'sheila' too! ;)

Being the sticky beak I am, I probably would've found an excuse to cross the road, walk past them 'nonchalantly' and remember their number plates :D

Last month police seized a white station wagon from Jones' neighbours' house for forensic examination.
It is understood police initially believed the car, which belonged to Jones' estranged wife, had been disposed of but police later learnt it had been given to neighbours.

BBM: Why would the police initially believe the car had been disposed of? Who or what led them to that conclusion? Was it a case of "I don't have that car anymore, I got rid of it." And then, "Oh, I forgot. I actually gave the car to my neighbour."
