He was sentenced to 18 months on October 21 last year.

Sleuthers here have been finding a lot of recent arrests in the area. Ugh, are most of them related to the investigation??

Yes :( I just added a bit more to my post.

The 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 once lived close to the disappearance site. I wish they could tell us how long ago he lived there.

P.S. It's unusual for the Telegraph to leak this on a weekday. Usually they do this on a Saturday.
I'm so sick of these monsters infiltrating churches, schools, places we and our kids should feel safe. Wolves in sheep's clothing. I pray for the day that Australian laws are tougher and publicly register these monsters. I just do not understand why they are protected and let off with slaps on the wrists.

^ So true. If these monsters were named then at least the community would be able to watch them like hawks.

At the moment little children are like lambs to the slaughter, especially for pedophiles about to be sentenced. It's totally unacceptable.

That's putting it nicely!
Too nicely! Don't want to get a time out for what I really want to say 🙊
Just waking up (not a morning person) and need to be extra careful with my words 😏

Oh man! I wish they would release where/how long ago he lived there!

That nearby house that went up for sale quickly has always nagged at me.

I always get the impression from these articles that they are very restrained - only telling us the bare minimum. There's just enough in there for us to put the pieces together.

I really feel that there is a lot more to each article and that the theories being thrown around here are not far off the mark. MOO.

However, despite pleading guilty to the charge, Nichols told the newspaper that the case against him was "nonsense" and he had "never even looked" at the child abuse material."

Then WHY WOULD YOU HAVE IT?!

Police searched Nichols' home in Kendall in May last year after learning that he had historic child abuse offences against his name in Victoria.

In a brief conversation with The Daily Telegraph, Nichols referred to a previous article written about him and other persons of interest and said: “What you wrote about the other man was wrong.”

Which other man DN?

DN said he was living in Dunbogan when William went missing and said he did not know anybody connected to the case.

So how does he know they wrote something wrong about the other man if he didn't know anyone connected to the case?

Hmmm!

bbm red

Did his washing machine need a "repair" this day ...? Or had AJ to dispose of DN's old defective machine, BS had to install DN's new machine, PB had to hold the hose and all peddos were together meeting conspiratorial at Dunbogan ...?

More info on the investigation leaked just now:

http://m.dailytelegraph.com.au/news...nd-derek-nichols/story-fni0cx12-1227706583243

It may be paywalled, so to paraphrase:

"Pervert pianist", Derek Nichols of Laurieton, was probed over "his involvement" in William's disappearance and is serving a suspended sentence for possession of child abuse material.

He once lived a short walk from William's grandma's house (not sure how long ago.)

He sings in a local choir group and attends the Anglican church giving talks on spirituality and music.
I just love how the article starts, "A Pervert pianist".....

The "short walk from William's grandmas house" reference has me very curious.

Also paraphrased, says that locals fear that Nichols was purposely visiting children's gatherings in that area......

Also says he denies knowing Spedding.....

Does not mention if he knows the other named POI's 🤔

I still don't understand why they are releasing this information now when he has obviously been a POI since early last year, when his house was searched.. Did he have any pending court dates that they didn't want negative opinions influencing the outcomes?
I know every step they take is strategic, but it seems as if something big has gone on behind the scenes (obviously there is plenty going on we don't know about) that has led to the publics attention being drawn over to DN now.

There was some information in that article that was corrected at some early stage, BS name removed and replaced by another name.

I wonder what sort of car Nichols drove back then? Maybe grey / silver sedan? Maybe it was parked near his funny little house? (If the funny little house was his, of course). Maybe Jones was parked behind it. Maybe they then handed some 'scrap metal' over to someone with a white 4WD.
