William Tyrrell person of interest Paul John Bickford denies involvement in his disappearance

Bickford earlier appeared in court for a separate matter after allegedly breaching orders imposed upon his conviction last year for indecently assaulting an 11-year-old girl with Asperger’s syndrome.

The former president of the Grandparents As Parents Again group, which came under the scrutiny of Strike Force Rosann detectives investigating William Tyrrell’s disappearance, described himself as “just an ordinary guy, really”.

He admitted he had been interviewed twice by police about William, who would now be four years old.

“I’m just being what I always am,” Bickford said.

It seems very strange that TJ and PB are arrested around the same time for assaults against 11 year old girls. I am wondering if the victim is the same victim in both instances and if pressure, manipulation, whatever you want to call it was put on the victim or PB to come up with something to charge him with. Et voila, pedophile ring. Just thinking out allowed and pondering different scenarios. MOO

Another GAPA member, Anthony Jones, is behind bars and awaiting a September 14 sentencing for indecently assaulting a different 11-year-old child.

The Saturday Telegraph can reveal Paul John Bickford — the former president of grandparent support group GAPA (Grandparents As Parents Again) — allegedly breached court orders imposed on him over child sex offences around the same time he was photographed by this newspaper visiting his wife’s home in Port Macquarie on September 7.
Bickford pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting an 11-year-old girl who suffers Asperger’s syndrome during a drive to the shops to buy her lollies.

He was given a 16-month suspended jail sentence last February and barred from contacting children.

Bickford has not entered a plea to failing to comply with reporting obligations under the Child Protection Act.

Police allege he broke those obligations between 8am and 11am on October 13 last year.

from the article from your #755 post. So this is from a different article. Now I'm getting confused, I'm referring to the article that was published about an hour ago.

You are correct Frogwell.
I had been thinking a bit about PB attending court today and keeping my eye on the news.

No sooner had I posted the older article .... something appeared in regard to today's court attendance.

He failed to comply with reporting obligations.

I was concerned he may have tried to contact his victim.

Sorry to confuse you.

No worries soso. When it was mentioned the article went back to 2014, I just wondered how many twists and turns have I forgotten already in this case.

Agree. There have certainly been a few twists and turns! And probably more to come. IMO

Could be right on topic, L2L. There is no place for people like this in a decent society. We HAVE to keep our children safe.

I know the judicial system is a complete mess in Qld, but it obviously goes further afield!

This Mittagong case disturbs me peronally as it's right where I live and can't help wondering if it's someone I might know, or heard of, or who lives nearby. Its frightening when it's someone who is local...for me it is anyhow.

http://www.portnews.com.au/story/3676395/person-of-interest-very-sorry-for-william-tyrrells-family/

On Wednesday he (Bickford) fronted the media on the steps and defended his support for the Tyrrell family.

"I feel very sorry for the family, I really do," he said.

"Why can't I feel compassion for a child?"

He said he was an "acquaintance" of*fellow person of interest Tony Jones, but denied they were friends and said he "wouldn't have any idea" what Jones was doing on the day of William Tyrrell's disappearance.*

Also:

On Wednesday Bickford said the last time he spoke with Jones was at Wauchope's Hastings Hotel, though the two had not been in contact on the day of William Tyrrell's disappearance or since.

The 2009 Mid-North Coast senior volunteer of the year said while police had questioned him twice, they had "never searched" his Port Macquarie home.

He also appeared to cast doubt on the investigation of the disappearance.

"There's something very strange about the whole business," he said.

"I'm only a layman but I'm telling you now there's more to it than meets the eye, definitely more to it."

So The Pervert Pianist or PP has had his home searched but not Bickford....We know Jone's wagon searched. Did Jones have his home searched, can't recall?

I don't know what everything thinks but I believe these child abuse cases are not more frequent now then they were 20 or 30 years ago. I think that in the past it was more common for the abuse to happen in a family or friend situation. Now people are more aware through education and children are more likely to say uncle p for example did this and it is actually taken seriously. It's great and it's a huge step forward. Imo unfortunately it's led to more offenders going elsewhere. It's awful. In a screwed up way it's better in the way victims are more likely to come forward. But I guess all these perverts have not stopped. They have just looked elsewhere...., [emoji22].

The charge follows his indecent assault conviction on December 19, 2014 for touching an 11-year-old girl intimately on the outside of her clothing during a short car trip to buy lollies.

??? He pleaded guilty to this charge, was convicted as a pedo, put on a register and publicly identified as such in the press because he was afraid he would go to jail????

I wonder when it was that they spoke at the hotel? Did they just speak, or did they have a drink together? Surely if the latter that makes them more than acquaintances. Also IMO, he didn't have to speak to him on the day to be involved.

I wonder how he knows 'there's more to it' and that there's 'something very strange'?

How does he know this?

What does he know?

What does he suspect?

Who does he suspect?

He has to have some knowledge upon which to base his statements.

Horrible things happen to pedos in jails, apparently.

Agree L2L. It's frightening that we DON'T know where they live. I really think we have the right to know, so that we can be just that little bit more vigilant, if necessary.

Many of the general public who aren't involved in the investigation have come to the conclusion that there is more to this case and something very strange going on. MOO

Well it had to be before the 27 September 2014 when AJ was arrested.
But was it after William disappeared?
