From what I can tell there is no post office in Kendall NSW, do they have door to door delivery for post there?

I was thinking KT is biomum also.

the thought that it could be a neighbour who has been involved in the search is sickening. But the police seem very sure the local area and local homes have been thoroughly searched. Such a frustrating case!

eta I think KT is biomum.

A neighbor was in my thoughts from the start. It is a sickening fear, but they said they searched the surrounding homes. Just seems way too random to be a stranger abduction. This case is very, very strange.

Yes. Kids with autism certainly do wander off. Sometimes with terrible consequences. No evidence William has ASD. My son won't wear one of those harness things. I wish he would! The couple times I have put one on to try he just sits on the floor and won't budge until I take it off. Little terror!

There is a post office in Kendall. So they would have door to door service in most, if not all, areas. Maybe not to outlying farms or properties, but definitely in the town, I would think.

Our posties here (at least, in South Australia) ride little mopeds/scooters, so you can usually hear them coming down the street. Our mailboxes are near the street, at the end of our driveways.

bbm:

1. could WT been attracted to running out to road to see scooter or

2. would postie have noticed something

Can't even fathom how I would be if this happened to one of my kids. I've honestly tried to think about it but it would just be total devastation. I really hope he is safe and found :(

A lot of little kids do like to get the mail out of the mailbox when postie comes. Sometimes they run to mum saying .. postie's coming, postie's coming ... and postie usually has a pretty good handle on who lives where, and the type of mail they get. Though maybe not so much these days, with emails taking the place of snail mail.

Have to say, I like the way you are thinking, newone .... any and every possibility. :)

Not exam time of year .. that tends to be November for the oldest kids. Younger high school kids don't have exams. I don't know if NSW has mid-year exams still for the oldest kids (most states don't) but they would be earlier than September.

We still have our fair share of kids that wag/skip school though.

I have a son in year 12 (Qld) and the day William disappeared was still part of "block exams" week at his state school. On most days he came home by midday, and on a couple of days when he didn't have any exams he didn't have to attend school.

that's amazing....maybe there's a Kendall local who can tell us what was going on locally at high school .....

so far looks like grade 11's had exams from this

http://www.henrykenda-h.schools.nsw.edu.au/calendar --- came up when I googled Kendall NSW but unsure if it is correct district

this one is in district and offers distance learning as well

Looks like it was ''grad'' Sept 12 for Camden h.s. -- this could attract out of towners for graduation IME -- and a certain element of party hardy too.......pranks....imbibing....etc

My experience of 3-year olds says that most of them would not wander very far at all. 3-year olds are pretty good with rules, not usually particularly rebellious yet, and don't usually like to be all alone as that is not the norm for their age group.

My little brother was 3 when he was playing in the backyard, climbed the side gate which was about 1.5m
and was found at the front door about 10 houses away :/

Kendall in agony over mystery of a little boy lost

"William's father has often joined the search, drenched in sweat and tears and thanking the search crews and the local ladies who have kept them fed with donated food.

"He looked like he had aged about 10 years in a day," said one friend. "He keeps saying, 'where's my little Spidey-Man?'."

It's believed William's grandmother has left home to stay with a friend, overwhelmed by stress. Two little bikes remain on the back porch. Superintendent Paul Fehon walks around the property and is at a loss to explain what might have happened"

says here it was their first visit?

William and his sister, 4, arrived at their grandmother's house in Benaroon Drive, on the evening of Thursday, September 11 for their first visit from Sydney's north shore. (William has a complicated family history and, for legal reasons, his family cannot be identified). It had already been a tough year for his grandmother. Her husband died in March, she had battled her own illness and relinquished much of her involvement in Kendall's community groups, only recently returning to her beloved lawn bowls.

Perhaps they lived far away from Grandmother until recently? moo?

''William's grandmother was sitting out back and saw nothing. His mother had ducked inside to make a cup of tea at the front of the house, with windows that look down Benaroon Drive, and saw nothing."

Grandmother ran down the street and was knocking on doors asking neighbours if they had seen her grandson.

With father off doing errands, all the known adults are accounted for - there's not a shred of evidence.

Seems strange that it was their first visit, even more so when grandmothers husband died earlier in year.

From SMH article
The Sex Crimes Squad has verified the whereabouts of known offenders in the street or town.

Are they inferring there was a known sex offender living in the street or just slack reporting?

I certainly agree with whats said in the SMH article, if he'd run down the road he would have been spotted easily. If in the bush there would be traces left. It really does only leave the 'human intervention' possibility and it's clear why they've been vague even about that, with no clear evidence of what that could mean.

Kiwi50 I wondered the same. I think they're just unclear. Maybe deliberately vague?
