the thought that it could be a neighbour who has been involved in the search is sickening. But the police seem very sure the local area and local homes have been thoroughly searched. Such a frustrating case!
eta I think KT is biomum.
From what I can tell there is no post office in Kendall NSW, do they have door to door delivery for post there?
There is a post office in Kendall. So they would have door to door service in most, if not all, areas. Maybe not to outlying farms or properties, but definitely in the town, I would think.
Our posties here (at least, in South Australia) ride little mopeds/scooters, so you can usually hear them coming down the street. Our mailboxes are near the street, at the end of our driveways.

bbm:
1. could WT been attracted to running out to road to see scooter or
2. would postie have noticed something
Not exam time of year .. that tends to be November for the oldest kids. Younger high school kids don't have exams. I don't know if NSW has mid-year exams still for the oldest kids (most states don't) but they would be earlier than September.
We still have our fair share of kids that wag/skip school though.

I hope they crack this case very soon.
I have a son in year 12 (Qld) and the day William disappeared was still part of "block exams" week at his state school. On most days he came home by midday, and on a couple of days when he didn't have any exams he didn't have to attend school.
My experience of 3-year olds says that most of them would not wander very far at all. 3-year olds are pretty good with rules, not usually particularly rebellious yet, and don't usually like to be all alone as that is not the norm for their age group.
Kendall in agony over mystery of a little boy lost
"William's father has often joined the search, drenched in sweat and tears and thanking the search crews and the local ladies who have kept them fed with donated food.
"He looked like he had aged about 10 years in a day," said one friend. "He keeps saying, 'where's my little Spidey-Man?'."
It's believed William's grandmother has left home to stay with a friend, overwhelmed by stress. Two little bikes remain on the back porch. Superintendent Paul Fehon walks around the property and is at a loss to explain what might have happened"

says here it was their first visit?
William and his sister, 4, arrived at their grandmother's house in Benaroon Drive, on the evening of Thursday, September 11 for their first visit from Sydney's north shore. (William has a complicated family history and, for legal reasons, his family cannot be identified). It had already been a tough year for his grandmother. Her husband died in March, she had battled her own illness and relinquished much of her involvement in Kendall's community groups, only recently returning to her beloved lawn bowls.
