Some say police are in no hurry since they must believe WT is already dead... but what about the next victim? If there is a murderer on the loose, or a ring that harms children, and perhaps even kills some of them, there is a huge hurry, I would think.

I see your point. That could be why police have made the names of the POIs public and tried to get BS locked up or at least reporting to police regularly. TJ is already locked up. PB is reporting to police, I think. Not sure about DN.

Was just re -reading Michael Usher story in the WW

As I mentioned in our 60 Minutes story, there are legal complications that have blocked them and us reporting their story properly. But believe me, this is a family that doesn’t deserve doubt or suspicion just because their full identities can’t be shown.

This is a family that needs love and support if William is to come home.

Tony Jones, 59, has not yet publicly addressed the claims made by his estranged family who say he told them about the alleged meeting with Bickford after coming home drunk on the day the little Spiderman fan went missing.

http://www.aww.com.au/latest-news/n...aul-bickford-denies-william-tyrell-link-25680

Bit hard for him to do that given his current residence.

Though, BS could address some of the confusion surrounding his whereabouts that day.
If your alibi for the day is sound then get on the media band wagon and put it out there ..... imo.

I wonder how well the wives of these blokes know each other?

Didn't DN appear in court this week?

I feel like this happened: Police decided on day one that the families were cleared; Police decided on... I'm not sure which day, perhaps day 3(?), that WT did not wander off and get lost, etc. According to Jub, he has revisited, and the only alternative is for the sun and earth and stars and heaven to move in harmony for a minute, to provide an opportunity to some sick buggar who happened to be on the dead end street for some reason unknown. Police try to think.. could it have been a repair person on the street.. and voila, FM tells police about the washing machine repairman who would have come that day, but was told not to.

They set their sights on BS.. perhaps because in addition to FM telling of a would-have-been visit, they also later got a call from perhaps the mother of the grandchildren that BS was caring for. A mother who felt she should have custody of her children, perhaps. Perhaps she made some kind of allegation to FAS about him as well, perhaps after hearing through the family grapevine that he was supposed to have visited the by-then almost-famous house from where WT was taken.

Then it all fits for police, has to be him, so they fully look into him.. find these historical charges that for some reason, were not pursued at the time, almost 30 years prior. After looking into the matter, they felt it would boost their case for BS abducting WT, if he was already a proven child molester, since it is mostly unlikely that a first-timer would do such a bold abduction, get completely away with it, with the ability to completely hide the body. So they interview the participants of the historical case, lose some notes in the process.. ask them to renew the case with the prosecution. Simple as that.

The ex wife I'm sure, was all too willing to revisit the case. By now, 30 years later, the children have surely hold whatever believes the exwife wanted them to hold 30 years earlier. Police renew the charges, arrest BS, he is incarcerated, perfect. But then he applies for bail, when a judge looks at the case, and determines that it isn't such a strong case as the police are presumably thinking it is, and allows BS to go free on bail until his day in court.

When it comes to children, I know that investigators have to be specialized in how to approach them and get information from them, withOUT putting preconceived thoughts in their head ahead of time. It is important because they need to ensure they accuse the correct person. Young children are impressionable. Even if a child is pre-verbal, I believe it is possible, with the right qualifications, to determine who the perp was. To now bring the case to trial some 30 years later, it is really too late to get the right person, and do the investigation properly from the beginning. So they have notes from the past, but according to the judge, portions of them conveniently seem to be missing.

Sometimes police *do* get tunnel-vision in a case. If they have ruled out other possibilities, and 'snatched by a pedophile' is the only one remaining, it would not be difficult to get tunnel-vision. The man's life is ruined.. he has lost custody of his grandchildren, he has lost his business, he may have had to move into a smaller, less expensive home by now. If they have something on him, or on a pedo ring, then get to it, and lay charges, lay the cards on the table to allow him to defend himself. Some say police are in no hurry since they must believe WT is already dead... but what about the next victim? If there is a murderer on the loose, or a ring that harms children, and perhaps even kills some of them, there is a huge hurry, I would think. If WT was taken by some kind of pedophile, or pedo ring, I doubt, imo, that it would be just a one-off. How could they live with themselves if they took their sweet time, sat on evidence, postponed an arrest(s), and another child dies in the meantime?

Nobody is saying the girls were not abused. It is not clear who the abuser was. Could have been the mother, for all we know, nevermind her criminal pedophile brother.

I really appreciate the time you took to articulate all the ideas in this post. I haven't been able to. MOO

Go fishing, regular customers in pawn shops, GAPA, selling & buying washing machines.......

Yes, and they can evidently also get together socially and have a few drinks at the pub, perhaps collect scrap metal, perhaps watch a footy game, maybe catch up in the street for a chat, if they are mates too.

  • #846
Yes they are allegations at this stage, but we don't know what evidence they have. We'll have to wait for the court case for that. They wouldn't be proceeding if there wasn't any, surely.

but they have no evidence of any of this, just allegations!!!!!!!!!

  • #847
Puggle, I'm so sorry that that happened to you. Sending lots of positive energy to you.

I have no evidence that my uncle molested me as a child......so it must not be true......but he did...

Frog...there are medical records.....the only question is the timing of the offence....was it before Hillsley was sent to prison...or after....shall be interesting to see those reports..

I can't fathom as an adult...having experienced those childhood trauma's....making up ****....it's hard enough to discuss as it is.....if you haven't been a recipient of childhood sexual abuse I would suggest your not qualified to comment...unless it's a IMO based on your own experience of being abused sexually as a child...I appreciate we may all experience things differently and express them differently... obviously...

I can't see that there is a pay off...no motivation...for adults...some obscure defence in parental request for custody for sure.....but when adult children come forward.....there is no payoff... something worth thinking about...

It was a call to crimestoppers, froggy.

The court was told police were also investigating further allegations in Victoria.

They hadn't pursued the matter when it originally occurred because of concerns for the little girls.

(All paraphrased as per Paywall TOS)

I am suggesting that after 20 odd years police may have approached and said your evidence is vital right now and could help in preventing this man hurting anyone ever again and we will back you up all the way to get him convicted if you want to pursue it. Maybe....MOO

Well, there's an oxymoron for you (my BBM).

In 1987 he was convicted in Tasmania’s Supreme Court of five counts of indecent practices. The victim was a 12-year-old boy.

“The court has a clear duty to protect young people from this kind of wretched behaviour, practised for selfish gratification at the possible risk of long-term serious psychiatric harm to the victim,” sentencing judge Justice Peter Underwood said.

Nichols was given a six-month suspended sentence.

He was already serving an 18 month suspended sentence as of the 21 October 2015.

Though he thought it was a lot of nonsense because hadn't looked at the material.

So why was he in court again last week?

Amen to that. So many thanks, Bo.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that this thread was primarily created to help find clues in the abduction of a vulnerable 3 year old boy, William Tyrrell, who has probably been violently abused and/or murdered by now, and to comfort his loved ones; not to 'Support X who has been Charged with and/or Convicted of Child Sex Offences'.
___________

btw If anyone is of the opinion that individual(s) in this matter are being portrayed in the press in a biased manner, you can send your complaint(s) to the Australian Press Council, eg:

Whoops, my bad (I need a Nana nap...well, that's my excuse)

It's very strange we haven't heard anything specific about that court appearance in the media as yet. Was it a police mention in a Criminal Court or a civil matter?
