The 'Where's William?' campaign does come under the umbrella of the Bravehearts' Foundation, according to both of their websites:

'Your donation to the Where’s William? Campaign will directly support a widespread national awareness campaign to assist the committed efforts of NSW Police in their mission to find out what happened to William.

On behalf of William’s family, we are sincerely grateful for all donations to enable the production and printing of information materials including adverting, posters, flyers, postage, distribution, media and a very broad range of strategic communication activities on a national scale.

The administration and distribution of funds raised in the Where’s William? Campaign is being managed and dispersed by Bravehearts Inc. with all donations of $2.00 or more gratefully received and fully tax-deductible.'

Good for Bravehearts to be involved. I recall the women Hetty someone as being a major advocate for child abuse ect being on TV. Where is she now ? I bet she would like to speak about this case, she was often on the Today Show speaking out about children's welfare. Has she been shut up too ?

Bravehearts are definitely a positive organisation, they do child protection stuff in schools (when my daughter was in year 1 they did lessons with them on awareness of child abuse and being able to speak up and who they can speak up to, etc).
Hetty has always been quite vocal. I don't know why Bravehearts is behind the WW website but there is no visible person in control of it ... just a website occasionally giving a PR update and selling stuff.
It would be more positive to have a visible figurehead talking to people instead.

Sorry you're right, the day he went missing. Do you find this strange?
But was it really posted that day or 'backdated' (cf discussion a few pages back about FB facility for misdating posts)?

Aha. So rather than the foster parents paying directly for the publicity campaign, they set up a charity for the purpose, donate to the charity, and all those expenses become tax-deductible. The purpose of the campaign is not so much to milk the public, but to get tax relief on the family's expenses. (My opinion only.)

You can't backdate on a personal FB account - only on a Facebook Page.

There are a few different types of accounts on FB - Personal Accounts, Groups, Pages, Events etc.

Therefore the date on that photo would be the date it was put on FB.

Interesting. My recollection is that the photograph was taken one year (exactly?) before the date of William's disappearance. I wonder if there's some other significance about that date.

Wikipedia: "Hetty Johnston, AM . . . is the Founder and Executive Director of Bravehearts Inc., an organisation advocating for better child protection in Australia. She is a lobbyist, who often highlights and promotes action against pedophilia within media, families, schools and in the general community."

Yes. Haven't heard much from her personally lately though. Could be because I don't watch TV (literally ever).

I seem to hear of her pretty often in the online newspapers. (No TV here either.)

Sorry to be so gabbling today. I dreamt of William last night. That I rescued him from being drowned but he died anyway of poisoning. The culprits were a young man and a young woman. I murdered her but I left him (the young man) in the creek swimming like an octopus.

I had a weird crime related dream last night too but can't remember anything about it (I think it was Missy Bevers related) though I did wake up thinking I really need to stop reading WS before bed!

This boy, aged 11, disappeared just as quickly and completely, in broad daylight, as William. His body was however, found. The article caught my eye because Bruce Morcombe has been advocating for a coronial inquest. He says the inquest was a "game changer" in the case of Daniel.
There are suspects in this killing, but no one has ever been arrested.

Gerard's abduction and murder, with so many parallels to William's disappearance and Daniel's abduction and murder, is well worth becoming familiar with.

The Morcombe's activism in Daniel's and Gerard's cases is something I would also like to see happen on behalf of William. Although I wonder if this can occur as it's entirely possible William is under the guardianship of FaCS/OCG and, ultimately, the NSW Families and Communities Minister, Brad Hazzard. Maybe that could be the seemingly insurmontable stumbling block to mounting an effective media campaign.

From the article:

Parents of Daniel Morcombe want inquest into the unsolved murder of Perth boy Gerard Ross
Kristin Shorten
Perth Now
May 23, 2016 2:00am

'THE MORCOMBES

DANIEL’S dad Bruce Morcombe said Gerard’s killer might have committed more crimes against children.

“Has he ever been tracked down? Is he deceased? Is he in jail? What has happened to this person?” he said. “Has he done it again? That’s our biggest fear. Has this 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 done it again?
"

'“The number one thing that was helpful in Daniel’s case, and clearly a card that has not been played in a WA environment, was a coronial inquest,” he said.'

'STAGGERED at the “bizarre and disturbing” lack of information about Gerard’s case, Mr Morcombe has made his own appeals for answers.

“But, to be honest, I’m not overly confident that there is a lot of progress being made.

“That’s why I think it’s time that there are more public appeals. We need the public involved. And we need a coronial inquest to directly establish what happened and who’s responsible for murdering Gerard Ross.”'

'A coronial inquest is in the public interest, he said.

“As a community we must be confident that police investigative work was first class with no errors,” he said. “We must be confident in the adequacy of the investigation.

“Short comings, if identified, can then be corrected for future investigations.”
'

Bruce's words in the first two paragraphs of the above story say it all really. The longer the community is left without answers to the question; 'Where's William?', how do they know that a serial predator isn't out there abducting, sexually assaulting and murdering children whilst remaining undiscovered? The intervals of time between their crimes are of no consequence. What is important is that they are occurring at all and the perpetrator(s) are free to reoffend.

Likewise, Bruce's words in the final three paragraphs. A coronial inquest/inquiry into William's disappearance is in the public interest; not only for the people of NSW but nationally. We need to have confidence that everything that is/was necessary to investigate his disappearance is being, or has been, done. Not only for William but for all child victims of crime into the future.
