the families were cleared very quickly, which i found a little unusual, they are usually the first to be suspected, so wondering what evidence there was to immediately clear them all?
something must have been very clear to point to abduction that early on?
police seem to have an inbuilt gut instinct so usually have a situation sussed from the first few minutes, they know whos lying and see through stories, even though they pretend not to,
i also cant shake the feeling something doesnt fit, i guess it will all fall into place once/if william is found,
and investigators will know so so much more and will have a pretty good picture,
we only have little snippets compared to them

BBM

I think something clearly gave her colleagues cause for worry that something sinister may have occurred. I would like to qualify this statement by saying that this is a very out of the box case and if it was an unwitnessed abduction, then apparently, statistically they are one of the most difficult crimes to solve. Has anyone got a link to a description of the 4 WD seen leaving from Benaroon drive at 10.30 am, bout the time WT went missing. I have not seen a colour published for that vehichle and another 4 WD seen speeding around the Kendall area that day. I imagine that someone from Benaroon drive witnessed that car. Seems strange that none of the residents of the street would not be able to identify who the car might belong to. We know a resident's wife left at approx. that time but surely the police would know which car was hers. Out of the 4 cars, I get the impression that it was kind of downplayed when released to the public, (how could they help without even knowing the colour?) but I think it was a coy message to the owner, "you were spotted." I bet the police know the colour, and wanted to see if that person would come forward and explain why they were leaving the street at that time. Something they may have "forgotten" to put in their statement previously. MOO

RSBM - The DA application, lodged on 24/07/14 was for: Additions to Dwelling and Ancillary Building - Shed

The expected cost quoted on the DA is $66,000

DA approved on 26/09/14 by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.

The property owners name is on the application.

I doubt very much that BS was paying for the 'Shed'.

If the concrete was laid after William went missing, how could LE be sure that no evidence was buried beneath the concrete? IMO

After watching ABC's "AUSTRALIAN STORY - THE MAN BEHIND THE MORCOMBES" on tv aired on 20/7/15, I don't have complete confidence in NSW Police solving William's abduction in the years to come (if ever).....Just have a look at the "sloppy" police non follow-ups & discrepancies from this story.

Bruce & Denise Morcombe & their Lawyer PERSISTED to leave no stone unturned in finding Daniel's killer & his body, over a 10 year investigation.

To help to find William, Bruce Morcombe offered his time & services to Gary Jubelan, who didn't even have the courtesy to respond to Bruce, knowing how much the Morcombes are devoting their lives travelling around Australia giving school children *free* videos to help to cope with "stranger danger".

I am expecting backlash over this post but I strongly recommend that you watch this story & see for yourselves the mistakes police make........I am taking a break from William's Thread as I get too emotional, because of all the red tape that has kept William's beautiful foster family from being able to have the opportunity in finding William, as the Morcombes had in finding Daniel (being the biological parents).....My heart just breaks for them, as It could take up to 10 years also for police to find William or his body........I pray for them every day..

I strongly recommend that you watch this 30 min. story & be aware of the amount of time & effort put in by the Morcombes & their Lawyer & how they pushed every avenue in helping the police every step of the way to find Daniel's killer & his body.......They have my utmost respect........Sorry for the long rant.....MOO

Det Jubelin's team are extremely proficient. I think they will have checked out all the possible abduction scenarios to a level a thousand times beyond our capabilities.
I suggest that if no identification of an abductor is made soon, there is a clear need to go back completely to square one.
Square one is the last moment WT was seen, going out of sight of the deck, around a corner of the house.
And to examine all the possibilities of what might have happened to him, discarding all the assumptions that have been made.
That includes discarding the assumption that he was abducted, and instead to look at all possibilities.

Many people who have posted and read William's threads have done just that, koios, over and over again with the information they have to hand as I'm sure the members of Strike Force Rosann I and II have also done to the very best of their abilities.

I have spent months going back over William's 25 threads on WS alone, downloading countless documents, scouring photographs and maps and reading MSM articles and posts on other forums, blogs and SM until my head throbs and my eyeballs feel like they're going to fall out of their sockets (not to mention exacerbating RSI in one of my wrists).

Short of going to Benaroon Drive and/or inserting myself into what can only be described as a very sensitive police investigation, I can't come up with anything new at this stage. I can assure you it's not from lack of trying. Still, I try to keep as open a mind as I can, given my knowledge and expertise (or my lack thereof) as do many others including, no doubt, the investigators.

It's been a particularly difficult week for posters on Australian WS threads this week I know, tiddles. William's case can be very frustrating and disheartening at times. Look after yourself and I hope to see you back posting here again soon.

Albeit police have a thousands times the information too. We are hamstrung to some degree on info, but also hamstrung by our ability to drill down information objectively that may swim into the realms of a DOCs court suppression order.

But sometimes WS forum users go into the micro which helps. A totally different aspect.

Reading through old articles & this one mentions searching the forest trails for car parts. The first sentence implies they were looking for something specific where as the second sentence just sounds like they are searching just in case. Did we ever determine if anything was found?

"Superintendent Paul Fehon said the State Emergency Service's volunteers will walk the forest's trails as they search for part of a vehicle that may have become detached.
Teams of emergency services began the first of a two-day search of roadsides ‘‘in case something has been thrown’’, said NSW Police Rescue Sergeant John King."

interesting...I remember this being mentioned previously but assumed it was more about a car part that had been 'dropped' so assumed it was to do with scrap metal or possibly even a washing machine part. This article definitely implies a part that has come off a particular car.....implying to me that they have a car they are searching which is suddenly missing a part. But then they also refer to something that has been thrown.....?? I wonder if they did find anything??

  • #412
so was a pois car suddenly missing a hubcap? what else falls off cars?

  • #413
I remembered the police looking for car parts, but hadn't heard anything since...
A side mirror? A windscreen wiper could be broken off?

  • #414
If a car part went missing on a forest trail. You could presume, hub cap, wing mirror, muffler, aerial, bolts. Anything else prone to falling off on a track?

It appears that Gary Jubelin did not know about Bruce Morecombe's offer at the time.

'Detective Inspector Gary Jubelin, who took over the case in February, said he was not aware of Mr Morcombe’s offer and would follow it up.'
