thanks for that. glad they got this creep! I live pretty close to these areas. Iluka is on the other side of the river from Yamba, takes at least 20-30 minutes to get from one place to the other...

So glad they got him too - for everyone's sake. I was in Yamba in July (the first week of the school hol's) with my daughter who is of similar age. Was at that very shopping centre. Kind of hits home. What a sick creep...

yer, well, the short news is -- i cannot find my phone. The long news is I went back looking for it, retracing my steps... I hope it was handed in at a store approx 1.5hrs south. i will find out tomorrow. i think i left it on the bonnet because (insert dread) i found my water bottle lodged in between my bonnet & windscreen... & at one stage i thought a bird hit my windscreen & flew past my drivers window...

FML is all i can say right now!!

i had no data cause i sucked it all up last night. pretty sure i had charge tho. Do you think if someone found it and handed it in to the store - they would switch it off - to save battery until they are open again? they could probably see i had around 15%.

Can u switch off a phone if you don't have the passcode? I'm pretty sure you can by holding down the off button for long enough...??

hey guys - until i find my phone - i just wanted to show you how easy & quick (altho it took me longer!) to get from the end of benaroon to that humpy place in the bush. I thought it was a dead end because it said private property - but now i don't think so, knowing which direction i took. Will show you close up from 6 maps too. Not suggesting these peeps did it at all. just showing how easy a 4wd can escape. From this house i notice two tracks that lead back to batar, that i noticed have a wire electric fence across them (looking from Batar creek road). No doubt for cattle but easily unlatched if you know how to. well used tracks too. anyone familiar could use these roads to get out onto batar creek rd.

Close up pf the two tracks that merge with batar creek rd. the road at the bottom is the one that hooks up into kendall forest. They are both opposite foxes creek road, which you can see in the bottom right of the pic. If you look at google maps you can't see the lower road properly, just sightly (image from 2010), but you can see it here from 6 maps more clearly, which is more recent.

hi guys. this is a close up of the waste land i was talking about up stoney creek road. the red line is the distance across, courtesy of 6 maps. u can check the distance in the bottom left scale. 115m. so it's quite huge. you can see some 4wd tracks leading into the forest. this area is littered with burnt out cars, dumped white goods, a whhole lotta rust, rocks, & creepiness. i think someone who likes to collect metal would be well aware of this spot IMO. it's not from william's. going in closer you can see a white car lol but loose pixels and unable to see the roads leading out...

no joy as yet with my phone. i called a school, a shop, a pub, and a produce store. gave them all my home number... insert prayer symbol. i don't know where i was exactly when i felt the bird hit my windscreen and flew by my window... hope i wasn't getting on the hwy

ok another one, humour me this is a close up cobb & co road (at the top of the screen) and the abandoned abattoir & house. where i start the line on the left is the abandoned abattoir with old machinery or something. i could definitely see a a lot of rust. or maybe it's an old cow milking shed? where the line finishes on the right is the abandoned house. not sure if it's one & the same property? easy to hide here for an hour or more before people have got this far. it's long abandoned. also private - being set a bit off cobb & co, and hidden behind a tree line. within-2km easy drive from william's house. or 1km as the crow flies..

That is interesting. so if you expand the above picture to take in the public and private road onto that property off Batar Creek road we can see a pretty direct way to the cul-de-sac in Benaroon drive. The public road being a straight road through the Kendall state forest. On street view where there is a clearing in the trees on Cobb and Co road a white vehicle can be seen parked at the side of the long shed on that property. That isn't uncommon, just saying. The actual distance between WT's last sighting and that property is about 1 and a half kilometres. From the property at Cobb and Co. if we expand the radius around it to double the distatance from Benaroon drive, to approx. 3 km, Middle Brother falls in that radius. Just following stats, that often in cases of opportunistic abduction with assault, the crime site is often not too far from the abduction site, and then the discovery of the victim is often twice as long or longer away from the crime site. Guess I just got a sense of what the police have probably been looking at since week 1 of thsi investigation. Great work Iailwa. Wish I knew how to highlight roads on maps and post, it would make my explanations easier to follow. MOO

Is that a fact, wow, it's right there in the vicinity. It's also a scrap metal place, for sure. Can reach it easily if you go this way too... & considering no-one knows actually what time he went missing, then it's easy to explain a car going unnoticed by the neighbours etc at 10.30ish

No. To answer your question from your last post, I am using the pictures in this post. The private road in this picture leads onto the same property as the Cobb and co property, just a different entrance.
